Guys, as Bill Gates put it, "“Don't compare yourself with anyone in this world...if you do so, you are insulting yourself.” You are unique and special and perfect enough, so don't let any kind of comparison bring you down and make you feel less than who you are. ► My facebook: facebook.com/thinh.toe

I do agree with you. a long time ago, I was so disappointed about myself because I myself felt that I wasn't as good as my friends and my parent was always comparing my scores , my look,...with others . I was totally hopeless.
Till one day, I try to move away to start "a new life", I realise that just only one I must fight and become better day by day . That's myself!

Extremely true with me right now, I really wanna cry, stop comparing myself with the other, just bring to me a lot of trouble and miserable. I'm on my journey and they are their, what I focus on is that I am today is the better version compare with I was yesterday. It is deeply meaningful video for me at the moment. Thank you so much! Always support you, Andy!

Hi bro, I hit thumb up button at 4:53 because you just spoke out the exact thought of mine.
FYI, I've been an English teacher for like 5 years and at times I feel embarrassed of myself, my knowledge, skills, Vietnamese-like accent and of course, my future.
There's always a room for enhancement and social comparison is helpful if you use it at the right time . Whenever you've achieved sth great, just use "upward" comparison to remind you to stay humble and avoid overindulging yourself. And while you're at worst, "downward" comparison makes you less insecure and courageous enough to keep going forward. Some classic principles I think.
P/s: You're in my "upward comparison" in terms of English teaching, Andy.

I am so suprised with your mature thought upon controversal matter. I agee with you 100%: we do not need to waste time to compare with others because it causes negative energy, but we must compare ourselves to yesterday's version of us in order to progress ourselves.

Thanks so much! ^^)

You're right ! There is not fair and necessary to compare ourselves to anothers. Just compare you and yourself. I often tell myself that today i will be better than yesterday ! It's just a kind of self-talk, but it's absolutely helpful. Don't try ,just do it. Forget all fucking words or comparison that everyone told ya. Stay strong and stick into it-believe yourself that you're gonna be better and better ! Cheers @

I've been watching your video about " 5 Minutes about Ielts " from the begining and I have to say that it's really meaningful to help us learning and inproving ours English everyday. The ways you talked is so familar with daily conversations which we have to encounter in daily life.Every now and then when watching the video I always try to write down your transcribe and try to use it by myself to learn it affectively as you've mention in the last episode. And I've known that there're tons of complement for you but there're one thing I've mention that despite the fact you're very busy but you always try to respond to every comment of us. Thanks for your enthusiasm and wish you all the best of health in oder to make many usefull episode like this in future.

Thanks for sharing this video. It probably makes me feel a little bit better than the moment when I tried to compare myself to the others causing stressful.
Every one has their own strengths and weaknesses as well as their own directions. What we’re seeing from them only the upsides. Just because they’re successful, doesn’t mean they don’t have some up and down stages.
What you need to do is just try your best every single day and never give up on yourself. The more you try, the more opportunities you’ll get.

Thank you for your video. This is actually match with my senses these days. I felt really stressful and sometime cry without any reason. it's like I don't know what to do and I feel like the World againsts me. Every people around me are so amazing and talent and I am just nothing; no job, bad performance at school and have no motivation to keep trying or studying. It's feel really bad!

    • @andyocanada2857

Don't feel that way, dear. Maybe everyone around one is doing really well, and you might think they are better than you, but they are on their own journey. You are own your own journey, and that's all you need to focus on. Just keep doing what you're doing right now, don't feel bad and sad; you are doing just great! If you have faith in what you're doing, I believe one day you can achieve something big!

    • @andyocanada2857
      @andyocanada2857  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

From what I see, it means: the day you were born is very important since you are given "life", but the day you find out why you were born is very important since it marks the milestone in which you discover your life purpose, i.e. what you come to this Earth to do.

You know, sometimes I feel envious of Hanoi. Because there are so many good IELTS teachers there while Dalat just could count on the fingers of one hand. Why don't you move to work here in Dalat and "save" a lot of people who are very hungry for learning English? We need you :))) Thank you so much for your useful videos. I wish you to attain more and more success in your job.

thank you for your interesting and helpful video, this changed my way of thinking a lot, I often tend to compare myself to other people and let's see, how miserable I am, because I am just a speck of dust in the large world. Now I will demonstrate to enhance myself to better than where I standed yesterday, you are the best guy

I️ heard some background noise. You may want to consider doing voiceover.
But the discussion is really good though!

we always compare with some one cause of greedy and too leisure. If you're busy how can you make time for such activities.
i'd love to compare with who' are in lower level than me or disable person. However the reason doesn't make i feel good... i just looked how am i weak and vunerable if put myself in that case.
