I feel like Vergil is so used to only ever having to deal with lesser demons and Dante, both of which he can be stylish with (Dante lets him, he does stupid stylish stuff too)
But when he fights Nero, he doesn't expect the sheer... *audacity* to just *hit* him.
This is way more interesting than “no damage” gameplay since there’s no way the fight would look so one sided story wise.
No damage is impressive... for like the first month of the game release.

Tbh, I think Nero's strength is above Dante and Vergil's, but he is lacking in skill and technique compared to them. I know people really like their favorites and all, but it's probably time to stop downplaying Nero because the mental gymnastics is getting a little ridiculous.

This one explaination of mine
is quite weak, but this is the only one i can explain:
When Dante perform the Judgement Cut(in 4), the slash effect is wide and all over the place that can damage many enemies, but leave some gap/spaces
Vergil slash effect all focused on "one" enemy, which deals alot of damage
HAHAHA I just imagine V awkwardly standing there looking left and right of him trying to make sense of the situation

Also as others have pointed out poetic, as he's (player, but like to think that Nero's) doing it in combination with a source of power different from his own (Nico's tomboy arm). Showing that there's more than one way to acquire power. So in that instance, while Vergil displays the imposing net sum of his strength and battle prowess from decades of fighting (far greater than Nero's technically & visually), Nero uses his wits, will and the good will of others (again Tomboy), to tentatively evade and follow up with a counter strike.

This makes me wish Nero could swap between his devil breakers without breaking them. Like seriously could’ve been left or right on the d-pad
The fact that you could not switch between them is the point I think. They treated more as an ammo rather than an actual tool that you could rely on consistently. It force you to mix up your load out too so I think making them more as ammos make sense and work well to flesh out Nero's kit.

Now this is something very unique! Props for your dedication for this masterpiece. I also like how you use some pretty risky moves to parry like Calibur 😂 what a mad man
IK it is late, but I would seriously love the music set you threw together for this vid, as its own vid, music and lines during the fight, just to have on loop so the intro and outro of it don’t cause a stagnant (albeit short) point in it. SMALL gripe. I mean the fact that you have BTL PLAY during Vergil saying it has NOTHING to do with Vergil, and then later being overridden by Nero going ALL OUT and have Devil Trigger or ‘Silver Bullet’s other half pop in, shows an audio understanding that makes you actually FEEL the fight taking a turn. Let’s not forget the CONSTANT SYNCS BETWEEEN THE CLASHING OF SHIT TO THE BEATS OR VOCALS.
I.E BANG BANG BANG DURING THE YAMATO STAB, TWIST, ETC. THROW MYSELF INTO YOU WITH WHIP. BEAT DROP WITH A HELM BREAKER. TO BUT NAME A FEW.
Reason is simply because the clashing and all just ADD to the music, and I mean come the fuck on, the music is only HALF the off the walls, over the top, fucknuts crazy and silliness that is DMC fights with bosses. Being a Super Sexy Stylish badass is the other half. Yet, here we are, seeing a camera controlled MASTERPIECE add another 50% on top of it. How? You tell me, after seeing this shit. Cuz I AIN’T GOT AN ANSWER AFTER THE CAMERAWORK AT PLAY.
Seriously though, @SafeSaves, an audio of this as it’s own music vid, with the intro and outro of this cut, would be tight as fuck. All I’m saying. Need it in my life.
Edit: Sync wise, counted ROUGHLY 50-60 syncs. Between music synces, drops, lyrics, some of them counting as multiples due to MULTIPLE swings/syncs, most of them are a 3 sync when they occur, but some are 2, others 4. Hell the Yamato sync has 6 in it.
I love that I'm seeing new videos of DMC 5 on youtube since the special edition announcement, I missed seeing people play this.

That thumbnail looks like Nero is about to send Vergil back to the underworld via express and let's be honest, that would be hilarious. Vergil is the fragile speedster and Nero is the lumbering powerhouse, with Dante being more of a jack-of-all-trades.

Just a thought that this video brought about. Nero needs a proper drive move like Dante and Vergil. Maximum bet is fucking dope but it's pretty situational since you need to be in DT and it's a relatively complex input.
I'm thinking a non DT drive/ overdrive that's maybe more aggressive and is boosted by exceed.
Sounds like something that could've been part of Tomboy's moveset, or perhaps added to Shuffle with Exceed

I love the way Vergil is just consistently battered by Nero no matter what. He might've thought Nero wasn't even close to him, but received one of the most deserved beatdowns I've ever seen, especially when he plays coy about accepting his own son then gets suplexed headfirst into the ground for it. That Showdown finish is the perfect icing on the cake.
