Great story and Congratulations to you Clark. I had a bit of a similar story, bad motorcycle accident and shattered my right leg when I was 28, took 3.5 years to walk again, played golf with a straight leg brace. Over the years I had two joint replacements in my right leg (now 20 years ago). I'm now 69 years old, play golf every day in the golf season (Canada) and walk every hole. I've played modern and hickory clubs (5 yrs with hickory) and love every swing. Had some success over the years winning provincial golf tournaments and hickory tournaments but none of that matters as much as just getting out and striking the ball and wandering the fairways. You have great attitude and enjoy a long healthy life. Cheers
Superb cinematography. Wonderful and inspiring story well told. Epitomises what is great about the game of golf. Understanding and appreciation the roots and origins of the game add so much to its pleasure and value. Thank you for sharing. ❤
What a lovely and inspiring story, beautifully told and produced. Thank you for such quality content. If high subscriptions are your thing, no doubt that will come. For me, it's a blessing to have such heart-felt and rich moments available to me. We farewelled my beloved father 2 days ago and this brought a smile. He was known as Mr Fixit and would have really enjoyed this. Love from Sydney - Dave
Such a great film. Clark is a one-of-a-kind person. Incredible what he's done with his recovery. If you get the pleasure of going to Sand Valley, be sure to say hi.
Great video & Clark's story should be told to all. As a Hickory devotee, I love to see people getting involved with "Hickories". I play with the Carolina Hickory Golf Association and it is an incredible group of guys. Just plain fun ! Everyone wants to play well but at the end of the day, it's all about camaraderie and enjoying each other.
As a fellow hickory devotee, Clark's rebirth as a golfer resonates with me 100%. Getting in touch with our game's origins changed everything for me, as I no longer took golf for granted, and respected those who mentored my new path. Clark's story is a beautiful one, and told so adroitly by The Golfer's Journal brilliant creative team.
I discovered hickory golf about 15 years ago when I was living in VT and have made great friends in playing hickory, in events and just for fun. GThe thrill of hitting a solid shot with a 100 year old club is unmatched. Hooray for Clark!!!
I had the privilege of meeting Clark a couple summers ago at Sand Valley. He is the most genuinely positive person I’ve ever met. Such an amazing story and video.
Worked with Clark this summer at SV. Truly the most positive, kind-hearted, down to earth person I’ve ever met. Pretty good golfer too! Thank you for sharing his story.
Beautiful filmmaking. You guys are lucky to have such an amazing interviewee, his attitude towards his own revival really comes through in his hickory work
Absolutely unreal story and piece of art - TGJ is only beginning to hit their stride and the calling of the project is getting deeper and more well defined every day. For me Clark and Hickory Revival embody the golf community I dream to be a part of and I want to introduce my future children into some day. ps. anyone know the credit song?
