    Hello Cedric,
    Congratulations on getting accepted to the program! I am aspiring to apply for Fall 2021.
    I have subscribed to your channel to stay updated on what you have to say about the program. I still have a bit less than a year to apply and I want to make my application as strong as possible so I'm looking forward to your future videos. :)

    Hey Cedric, your video is great! I am currently applying MCIT online Spring 2022, and my undergrad GPA is only about 3.1, and my master's GPA is 3.0. I took Economics (mainly math), I have also completed that 5 courses on Coursera (Intro to prgramming specialization and computer thinking). I work as an analyst dealing with Data (and using Python). Well, but I don't have GRE/GMAT, and with a relatively low GPA. Will my condition be competitive according to your current classmates who have already been admitted?

    Thanks, Cedric. This is incredibly helpful. I'm interested in applying in the upcoming round but not sure if I should take the GRE/GMAT. I studied Finance in undergrad with a 3.65 cumulative GPA and 3.91 major GPA. Do you think that's enough to prove my quantitative ability? Debating whether I should take the GRE/GMAT right now

    • @cedricvicera
      @cedricvicera  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The GRE/GMAT is completely optional so I would only take it and submit your score if you believe it adds to your application. Since it’s optional, I don’t believe it would ever hurt your chances. If you’ve already done well in your current field of study I don’t really think you need to show anything in addition. Sounds like you already have an above average academic record.

    Hi Cedric, the website says "GRE scores are optional. GMAT scores are accepted for consideration." Would be lower my admission probability if I don't submit both of GRE and GMAT? Do you have classmates who didn't submit any of the scores but are still admitted? Thanks.

    • @cedricvicera
      @cedricvicera  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes there are plenty of classmates who didn’t submit GRE/GMAT scores. I don’t believe that sending them will ever disregard you as an applicant. Since it’s optional, it would only be additional information.

I heard from your another video that you wish to pursue data science after graduating from the program. I’m also very interested in the field of data science, did you particularly mention your interest in the data science in your personal statement too?

    • @cedricvicera
      @cedricvicera  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Marphil Alberto I would maybe say that if there are other pieces of evidence to indicate quantitative ability there is still a good chance. For example, GRE or Online course certificates. This is also on the Q&A section on their website.

    I know you mean well and you're trying to share what you know and all, but most of these "how I got into this program" videos are made by outliers who have had very significant experience in computer science, arguably as much experience as a graduate student, which they nonchalantly talk about as if all of that should be expected of all prospective students of these programs. "Oh! I took a graduate-level course in deep learning! Oh and by the way, I worked at a research lab for two years! (Why didn't you do it?)"
    Get out of here! IMO, videos like these amount to just showing off your background and promoting yourself rather than helping anyone.
