Hello, how did you connect the adapter to the pump? Did you cut the wire end of the adapter and connect the pump? Or did it come with extender?
Hi, No, I didn't cut barrel jack plug of adapter. There was a connector that was made by me with joining of two 12 volt barrel jacks together and one barrel jack plug into motor wire.

I'm using an 18v solar panel to power the pump but the pump wokrs intermittently - it pumps then stops, then pumps then stops and goes on and on. Is it because the output voltage of the pump is higher than the rated voltage?
Also, how deep can the pump be submerged?
Yes, Power the pump as on rated voltage and water can be submerged by this pump till 15 to 20 feet deep. Remember, water pressure is inerversly proportional with deepness.

I'm using this 12 volt pump with 12 volt adapter..but the flow of the water is more for my work. So, if i used 6 volt adapter to run this pump, will the flow of water reduce?? And by using 6 volt adapter will there be any problem for pump?
Yes, Off course. 6 volt is not recommended for this motor after some time. It can burn out the motor.

There is no built-in auto system in motor , you have to set everything manually.

There is no exact time frame for continuous running and total life span described by the company but according to the company, " it is also suitable for Aquarium and Mini fountain" so you can imagine easily that it must have a long continuous running and long life span.

Yes
It can work without submerging.
But submerging is recommended for long life.
It is not working for me unless I submerge the pump. I tried with a one foot pipe (to suck the water). :(

But it is my recommendation that you must attach a charge controller with panel for reliable voltage and for protection from burning the motor.
