Honestly this dialogue and acting makes it feel like a genuine conversation here between them. No waiting for another actor to finish their line, they're just talking under the breath of one another and it feels more realistic. I love the improv and I just love the acting in this movie.
What makes this scene so great is that a lot of the lines were improvised. They didn't have a full script, so they were ad-libing a lot of the lines on this situation here. It seems so genuine as a result. 👍👍
I read this so often when people try to make an amazing scene even more amazing even though it's not true at all. Stop pulling things out of your ass please. This scene is great enough without you having to add dumbass lies to it.

The best is how after that happens Pepper decides to STOP doing what Tony is telling her to do so she can reassure him he will be alright. Meanwhile Tony if fighting back the urge to say "shut up bitch and do what I am telling you!"
It is heartwarming to know he trusts her with his literal life. Still like her I would be panicking and grossed out. Especially whatever was on her hands when she was done 😂

Barring all of that, by the events of Iron Man 2 the US military or SHIELD/HYDRA would have gotten a hold of Stark's suit tech and made their own, which in turn would have most likely spiraled into an arm's race and global war between superpowers. Ivan Vanko probably would have gotten big and supplied Russia with it's own suits, possibly leading to Russian dominion over at least Europe. Without Iron Man, Earth had no future.
The development for this couple is soooooo good. So underrated, it's paced, respectful, mutual. Genuine. Their personalities compliment each other so organically.

As someone who works in IT and had bosses put up regulatory restrictions on this (and rightly so sometimes).... I imagine a hospital would give him the runaround that he just didn't want to deal with when it was so well designed that Pepper could do it. Either that, or he got this far thinking he could do it himself and couldn't make such a trip to the hospital for something he felt was so easy to do.

A buildup of steam was forcing the heavy reactor rods out of socket, once the pressure was to much, there was a steam explosion. The steam explosion ripped open the reactor, the reactor caught fire, and now we have an exclusion zone that will have airplane background radiation for the next few thousand years. Compare that to hiroshima or fukishima's background radiation of slightly higher than average. Nuclear bombs explode, reactors spew radioactive "fallout" in huge numbers, and dirty nukes do both.

So the terrorists in the cave that he was abducted to put that on him in order to keep the shrapnel away from his heart, and after he sees how useful this can be, he keeps it on afterwards. After realizing how obsessed he was with building suits, he eventually operates it off of him in Iron Man 3, and the rest is history.
I honestly love that Tony just taps on an Arc Reactor like a glass cup as if the closest real life counterpart (hot-fusion reactor, or a thermal-fission reactor) isn't incredibly unstable, hot, explosive, and overall incredibly dangerous to toil with. I mean, given his fictional Arc Reactor isn't giving off immense heat that would sear flesh at the seams and cook through any organic tissue like a knife cutting through butter, its not exactly a hot-fusion or thermal-fission, but anything giving off that much energy to power and support an extremely heavy tank of a suit that still has enough power to make offensive measures out of discharge is bound to be something you definitely dont want to toil with too much. And he fucking plays it like a drum.

Funny technicality. A lot of people are talking about the line “I have been called many things. Nostalgic is not one of them.” And how it’s not actually accurate. But Tony never really said he wasn’t nostalgic, much less that he wasn’t sentimental, just that it’s not a trait he’s widely known for.
This right here is something the DCU has always lacked: real, meaningful interactions between characters. Not just characters exchanging one-liners or rambling about their motivations. Wonder Woman was the only DC movie that had that, and that's why it was the best by far

@@edragyz8596 it's a nuclear reactor that uses palladium for fuel instead of uranium. and chernobyl showed the world that yes they can explode -- like (spoiler alert!) the full-sized arc reactor exploded at the end of the movie.
@@aarrgghh No, reactor 4 never exploded in th the way you're suggesting. A buildup of steam was forcing the heavy reactor rods out of socket, once the pressure was to much, there was a steam explosion. The steam explosion ripped open the reactor, the reactor caught fire, and now we have an exclusion zone that will have airplane background radiation for the next few thousand years. Compare that to hiroshima or fukishima's background radiation of slightly higher than average. Nuclear bombs explode, reactors spew radioactive "fallout" in huge numbers, and dirty nukes do both.
@@aarrgghh Fair enough, the full scale Arc Reactor did explode, but that was for other, holywood based, reasons. But an Arc Reactor is just a type of Fusion Reactor, which also don't explode like nuclear bombs.

So the terrorists in the cave that he was abducted to put that on him in order to keep the shrapnel away from his heart, and after he sees how useful this can be, he keeps it on afterwards. After realizing how obsessed he was with building suits, he eventually operates it off of him in Iron Man 3, and the rest is history.

I honestly love that Tony just taps on an Arc Reactor like a glass cup as if the closest real life counterpart (hot-fusion reactor, or a thermal-fission reactor) isn't incredibly unstable, hot, explosive, and overall incredibly dangerous to toil with.
I mean, given his fictional Arc Reactor isn't giving off immense heat that would sear flesh at the seams and cook through any organic tissue like a knife cutting through butter, its not exactly a hot-fusion or thermal-fission, but anything giving off that much energy to power and support an extremely heavy tank of a suit that still has enough power to make offensive measures out of discharge is bound to be something you definitely dont want to toil with too much.
