To think she got a scholarship at Georgia Tech for aerospace engineering and wasn’t able to fulfil this and get away from that monster is the most awful moment for her. I truly feel for her because she really believed this man was her dad and that her mum died when she was young. She really didn’t know her true identity and she was so resilient, intelligent, charismatic and beautiful. She is a true champion of survivors and child victims. God bless her soul! 🌹 🕊 and her son’s.
@@Forestlif3 in the podcast series they say that she knew he was the stepdad. The crazy part is the strippers in Florida knew this and didn’t call the police smh
@@adorable3817 It's irrelevant because it's not about the dad, but the criminal made her do sexual favors at the strip clubs for money. She likely got pregnant that way. What I don't understand is why the criminal didn't make her get an abortion. Suzzane wanted them but he didn't care about that, he clearly didn't want the children so why make her keep them for adoption anyway? And why keep Michael and not give him up for adoption like the others?
Watching this made me realize how little my problems are when people out there live such a horrible life.. that too from childhood .. bawling in tears..
Problems are problems period. Don't compare your trauma with other ppl's trauma same with problems bc you wouldn't compare your happiness with another person's.
I was deeply disturbed by her story. I remember quietly sobbing while watching yesterday. Sharon/Tonya never stood a chance in life. All of the adults and her friends failed her. Nobody said anything even though that monster/father/abductor was clearly abusing her. And poor Michael… he was almost out of that monster’s reach and could had been with a wonderful family who loves him. Sadly, Michael also suffered the same fate as his mother. That’s why it is important when you see something, say something. These victims only rely on the vigilance and presence of mind of strangers for help. 💔
ikrr?? like how they were telling they saw her come in with bruises and marks and still not even one of them tried getting her help?? this is messed up. people only show grief when the person is dead.
It is so true. Getting involved will place your own life at risk but that is what life is about: doing the right thing. Too many people have assisted sending people to an early grace over their weak enabling denial.
i love documentaries. it's crucial for our children and adolescents to know about the dangers in the world. it's sooooo painful knowing that the closest person to you is the one who's harming you.
@@trawlins396 well parents must always take the initiative to teach their kids about this stuff but when there's no opportunity for that then watching these kinds of documentaries is more beneficial than harmful.
@@Jg-rv5oj you also can't have your kid believing the whole world is evil to the point that they don't want to live in it! Just like there is evil, there is also good! You must teach both

"Sharon impressed everyone with her intellect. She was beautiful and had the smarts to match. Sharon was a rock star. But what really struck me wasn't her academic record and other great accomplishments or the fact that she was able to succeed at a high level at school despite her disturbing home life, where she had been sexually, physically, and psychologically abused. It was her compassion, her kindness, inner strength, and tolerance of others - her humanity - in the face of such unending horror." - Matt Birkbeck
This documentary made me cry so hard I couldn’t understand how she persevered through such a horrific situation while still being a beautiful soul inside out. It was so chilling to see how angelic her smile was while she was going through hell. 🥺😢
This is the saddest story I've watched. I am literally crying. Thanks Netflix for this incredible documentary. I've learned so much from watching this. Parents, hold your children very close
Just finished watching this and I don't think any true crime has ever affected me the way this did. I couldn't even gulp down my water. No one should ever, ever have to suffer the way she did. I honestly cried at how utterly horrifying and tragic her story is. She was so kind, so strong, so intelligent, had the brightest future ahead of her, had she survived or found freedom from her horrific circumstances. My stomach was in knots. The documentary made my skin crawl of what he did to her and what she went through. Such tragic, tragic, tragic loss of life. Both her and her son's. "such a beautiful, kind and smart girl trapped in evil her whole short-lived life" sums this up very adequately
@@12345fowler I know right? And I still have so many questions! Like what happened to Amy & Alison? (Suzanne/Tonya/Sharon’s sisters from her birth mom Sandra).
I just watched this earlier today because I saw your post in our Group netflix recommendations. I don't even know how to describe the things that happened to her. 😭💔
Then you should also watch: Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father documentary, you have it youtube i would say it's even worse then this one.
Must watch! This is a tragic story of a little girl groomed so severely since she was a baby. Her whole life she lived in this misery. Sad to hear one lady they interviewed say “I don’t understand why she didn’t ask for help.” She was raised by an abuser. That was her normal. She doesn’t know what life is like outside of that. Also, must have some degree of stock-home syndrome especially if your were raise in this kind of life. Sad 😢
Let’s be real, the only good things Netflix brings are the documentaries. I just finished watching Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey and it was so good. I will seriously watch any documentary that Netflix brings
Ugh, I just finished watching this. Left me feeling empty. I feel like a lot of people failed her and there’s was more that could of been done for her. The girl was such a sweet soul.
This documentary doesn’t cover the failure of the judicial system. I think the government is just as responsible in crimes like this, especially since social services didn’t intervene at all during her fifteen years of captivity. Also birth mom is something else! As a mother, I’d never stop searching... She knew who took her daughter too. Just unbelievable.
Most of the women getting killed like this or abducted or more largely abused on a long term all suffer from poor and disfunctional families. So if you have children you know what to do.
yes the fact the mother knew his name and he took her n only her after knowing how crazy he was and just gave up after one try to get her is crazy as fawkkk n sad she's just as evil as him atleast the dad is tryna have a relationship he didn't know
@@pueroricanwaifu she didn't know his real name he was going by Brandon Williams, which he changed to Trenton Davis when he kidnapped Suzanne. Though I do agree that she could have kept searching. In the book it's mentioned how there's a rift between her and her older daughters because it.
@@pie1o1morris46 yeah it just seems she gave up quick and didn’t want the responsibly being a mom is stressful w ptsd but no excuse to abandon ur kids atleast leave them w a good family ffs not the worst possible person to torment her I cry just thinking about what that poor girl went thru so so sad her daughter seems to have a good heart like her tho loved she named her son after her brother 😪
The system is as faulty as her mother. How possible she never searched for her daughter? She was only 4 years old when was taken. How on earth was possible after her death, he was still free? He should have been questioned for her death right away, she had bruises and her friend mentioned she was experiencing abuse. Plus, how social services did not check the whereabouts of the 4 children. Nevertheless, why the main detective who mentioned he was so avidly searching identity, never checked her kids who were given for adoption. They knew she was pregnant more than once. I think the system fails big, this is just an horrible case and got publicity now. Imagine how many criminals are free or are not punished enough for their real crimes. Many have multiple crimes who no one knows about them. This was America, not somewehere in an underdeveloped country. I am so sorry for her life. Regardless of what she was going through, she shined at school and was interested in knowledge ans books. Poor soul. 😪
I was bawling in tears at the end of the documentary. I felt deep hurt and sadness for Michael and Sharon Marshall. I cannot imagine what she had been through. The man who did this to them is evil. I hope they turn this into a movie. May Suzanne and Michael be in a place where there is only joy , love and peace.
Just don't understand why it happened. Guess there are problems in the police work. Franklin Floyd had been a federal fugitive for 17 years. Oh, my god, unbelievable.
Another woman's life ruined by a male's sexual depravity and an unwanted pregnancy. The greatest threat to a woman's health and happiness. Infuriating.
What are they going to do now with Roe V Wade? Will they make mothers have babies conceived in rape? Because that would be like reliving your trauma on a daily basis. I just really hope all these good Christians are willing to take these unwanted children. But they probably won't. They'll just go onto to call the women bad parents, they will be the most judgemental. I think if they were going to overturn Roe V Wade then they may as well start sterilization with any man that's convicted of being a sex offender. Also, if you are a man that has 3 children by 3 different baby moms that you don't take care of, again, forced vasectomys, jail time.If you don't participate in your child's life, help provide for them, again jail. Harsh new laws for the men in our Brave New World. I could get behind that. They want to intrude in our bodies, we should be able to intrude in theirs. Fair is fair. Blessed be.
I was shocked when it turned out he sold her infant brother into an adoption ring because I was positive Franklin killed her brother in front of her. They found him alive recently. She also has a daughter that was adopted out and became a nurse, I believe.
What a crazy story. With everything going on in Suzanne's life it's amazing that she was still able to excel in school and present herself well. Who knows what she would've achieved had she gotten away from that monster. So sad...
@@Freedomfred25 first child was put in adoption (no idea who biological father is, could potentially be Franklin), second child is Michael her son who was later kidnapped by Franklin and apparently killed (biological father is NOT Franklin), third was a girl named Megan on the documentary (who again no idea who biological father is but it’s NOT Franklin)
I understand Suzanne's mom had PTSD and needed help considering she just lost her home in the tornado, and had the 3 kids to look after by herself, but I just thought it was incredibly stupid to just go off with a man u just met in a church. I know it was the 70s, but he literally told her what she wanted to hear, "God sent me here to take care of u and ur children". 🤦🤦 That didn't send any alarm bells during the whole process of her getting married to the guy and having the 3 kids be around him???
No seriously. I rolled my eyes the entire time they interviewed the mom. Selfish selfish woman that doesn’t even deserve the title of a mom. Abandoned her kids and didn’t try to look for them. God I hate when idiots decide to procreate
@@bels9773 exactlyyy. Why leave the home u had to move urself and the kids to a trailer park? 🤦. I honestly wish Suzanne's real dad had gotten to spend more time with her 😭😭
There is abundant evidence that children living in stepfamilies are more likely to experience sexual abuse. Suzanne’s mother made a series of bad decisions that led to Suzanne’s terrible ordeal.
I cannot believe the mother did not bother just one bit to look for her daughter. She knew who took her and she didn’t do anything about it. 15 years, she did nothing 😡
Yes!! And the fact that she just randomly married that man without even getting to know him, how do you just bring a stranger like that around your daughters!!
This was one of the most disturbing/emotional documentaries I've ever seen! She literally suffered most her life but on the outside appeared so strong, so kind and caring! This is the real definition of you never know what goes on behind closed doors when a person presents themselves the way she did, Atleast her and the son are hopefully together and free from that vile creature, but its so sad 🥺
@@Koshkinayekaterina what a stupid reply. Don't bother replying further. Anyone who thinks a person who strips is somehow less of a person than anyone else is irrelevant and unnecessary.
Finally! I worked on this documentary last year, was wondering when it was coming out. It’s based on the book called “finding Sharon”. We shot in the fall of last year in OKC
"This young beautiful woman." Yuck, you know what I hate?! When people judge a missing person by how they look. It seemed so shallow, creepy, and irrelevant, especially if they are a missing child. Its like, so we have to care, because of how "good looking" they looked??? And of course, that dude would say that, pervert. How about missing girls, teens, who aren't white society pretty? Or not the generic white, blonde, and or, skinny missing girls, and teens? Do they matter??? When are Netflix going to document missing girls, women cases that aren't white, blonde and skinny??? I am surprise d they didn't document missing cases of Indigenous women yet...
You are taking his words too literally i think. Her case was handed to him, regardless of her race, nationality or looks. As an investigator, you have a case and you are suppose to crack whats going on. I d love more documentaries like that, indiginous or not ❤
@@zoloosso3152 highly doubt this much effort would be put into finding a poc. Don't ignore the fact that blonde blue eyed young girls always get the extra help (don't take this comment as me saying they don't need help because they do, I'm pointing out that the same effort should be put into finding all people of both genders and all races).
This was a great documentary. Thank you for sharing her story (and little Michael). A lot of people need to be held accountable. I don't think he should have ever been released in the first place. Anyone who is a child abuser should be in jail for life without parole.
While that's a nice thought, it's not reasonable in application for the same reason there no death penalty for rapists. If abusing a child carries the same punishment as murdering the child, then what incentive is there for the abuser to leave their victim alive?
Not only did the justice system fail her but all of her so called friends I can’t believe literally no one could help her or at least go tell authorities with everything they witnessed.
Yes the friend who saw her getting rapee could have told someone but she was a child or teen too at that point. How much do they understand. Its the adults at fault. All those who saw something was wrong but didn't inform anyone
@@meetu7817not to mention that Jenny, the friend who witnessed it, could probably be killed for snitching. Floyd must have remembered her face, since he met her parents. I mean, Floyd was a fugitive for 17 years, wasn't it terrifying enough?
The lack of urgency from Suzanne's parents to actually find her and to take her away from that monster is what bothered me the most about this whole story.
Hold on sister. She dumped him while he was in Vietnam looking for a better deal. She’s the POS here and should be in hell with the scum. At least he went to the ceremony.
Quite possibly the saddest, and most chilling documentary ever. The evil of that man was so immense that at times it was hard to believe I was watching a true story, and the terrible life she had was beyond imagination.
I feel like the mother sold her daughter. Because there is nooo way you never looked for her. Everybody failed Suzanne poor poor lady. What a horrible life.
I don’t know if you read the two books but I had the same impression. Let’s get married get the kids out of foster care and we’ll sell them to better homes. Floyd left with the one kid he could prob get the most money for
What I hated the most was as soon the camera went on, Tonya /Sharon was everybody's best friend...So why did nobody filed a missing person complain? Why when they felt and saw that something was wrong with her, father, son, bruises, being raped next to you in bed... NO ONE went to the police or really help her? This went so far because again...people turned the other cheek.
@@revanelson8810 although her mom wasnt nearly as bad as floyd i think she saw her kids as a handicap and she wasnt going to shed a tear for one less mouth to feed. She said she went to the cops. I highly doubt she did. She was a known criminal albeit just prostitution

I agree. Her friend really should have said something. Being terrified is totally irrelevant. She could have told her mom when she was out of the situation who could have done something about it. Not to mention, why did she even continue to spend the night there?! Instead she stands on the sidelines and acts like she did anything to help her when she's already dead.
after watching this I am left heartbroken… this poor angel never got the justice she deserved. everyone she was around failed her. friends of her saw obvious signs of abuse and yet decided to do nothing about the situation, maybe if only one person would’ve spoke up, she would still be here today with us. i truly believe God is giving her the life she deserved on earth up there in heaven. rest easy Suzanne, your kind soul and heart has touched many. you remained a great person after the world had treated you so poorly. you’re truly missed.
The devine intervention was when the photos were found underneith that truck i just dont think that was by chance. Without the photos they couldnt have sent him to death row
the point of this documentary shows how so many people failed her and im so mad for it. i cant stop crying because i know her so called friend, parents, etc could have done so much to save her but they do nothing. im so sorry for her
I’m a grown ass man, but I teared up watching this.. I even woke up the next day & was still upset about it! It was so emotional. I don’t know why but something about this documentary pierced thru my heart.. 😢
I cried during the ending of this movie. What a tragic life Sharon had and no one tried to help her. That's what stuck with me. NO one did anything!! It blew my mind. I feel very sorry for her friends who must feel so must guilt after finding out what had been actually going on. But the fact they suspected her father was pimping her out or actually witnessed her being raped and they didn't call the police....I am speechless. And then Sharon's birth father!! He must feel sooo much guilt I cannot even imagine it. It looks like his life turned out fine in the end, he must ask himself every single day why he didn't take in those three little girls when he had the chance, it would've saved his daughter from a life of rape, abuse and ultimate early death. Tragic, tragic story.
The club they worked at her boss pleaded with her to do something. They offered to hold a portion of her money so she could have a nest egg to run away
Wow, and not one word about her sickening mother that couldnt care less about her daughter and cheated on her husband at the time he was abroad? Her mother is not the victim here!
The birth father looked like a good man. If only the wife has stayed loyal and not married a psycho she met at the church. Did she not have a family herself ? I wonder. Parents who would have told her it was stupid idea to just marry any man you meet without a background check
What an absolutely heartbreaking story. Suzanne went through such horrors yet her light was still able to shine through and touch the lives of others. R.I.P. Suzanne and Michael 💞
Unfortunately, the reason I think she excelled in school and was so well adjusted was because she saw nothing wrong with it. She was kidnapped by him at 4 years old. She probably thought it was normal and everyone's family was like that.
As a mom, what truly broke my heart about this entire story is that Michael might never be found. He's about to live the best of his life with a good family when tragedy hit. I couldn't imagine leaving this world and my kid in the wrong person's care and only for my kid to follow me days later to heaven in such horrible manner. Michael would have been my age, if he's still alive. R.I.P Suzanne & Michael.
He admitted to shooting him twice in the head the same day that he kidnapped him. He threw his body off the side of a highway…The police suspects that wild hogs ate his corpse. 💔💔
I don't know why I hope michael is alive since his body was never found.. I feel like that psychopath lied and abandon him somewhere like he did with Suzanne's sister..
@@kekekiki3369 yeah, how do they know he isn't still alive, or that the psycho wasn't lying? They've been known to lie in their 'confessions' especially if they're already sentenced to death.
Honestly, ill watch this JUST based on the fact that its by the people who did 'Abducted in Plain Sight' which might be the most shocking one-off doco ive ever seen.
The sickest fact about this case is that the mother reported her daughter was missing on the same day her husband abducter her little girl. And guess what?! Authorities did nothing becuase she was with her "dad".
Same! I always thought that this would be a very good movie as well! This story needs to be told for Sharon! Her life deserves so much more than what she got!
After I watched the Documentary I realised how her parents were irresponsible, how can you live in peace when your daughter kidnapped. I love it the women who adopted Megan the daughter of Sharon she gave a good life, a life her mom never Had from her Grandmother 😢 Every Women can’t be a mom . RIP susie 👧
The most memorable part of this for me was “why didn’t she ask me for help when we were alone?” Oh so much that woman doesn’t know. This is a tragic story. So very sad.
That part stood out to me also. I'm not sure whether that woman, at any point, considered that a girl abused, groomed and manipulated since early childhood might not do the expected thing.
I can't get these faces, voices, and stories out of my mind days after watching this documentary. I hope more people come forward to fill in the missing gaps of the time-line.
Felt sad and at the same time relieved that they were able to find out the real identity of Sharon. Thumbs up to the detectives and all other people who never gave up to find the truth. It's just sad that her parents were not ready to have a children to take care and protect them.
The detectives were incredible. That era if someone changed their name it was almost impossible to track them down- so many people blame a mother who obviously had issues, she failed, it’s horrific, but the evil is the kidnapping and abuser - you could easily disappear back then- all his name changes, she didn’t even know his real name because he was a predator- it was beyond complicated and after initial dead ends, where do you “look” without any resources, or phone numbers, or current addresses- where to begin? I’m so glad, the FBI and the dedication from detectives kept going, (actually stellar work) exposing the story, because any Justice is a victory and so important to the core of all humans. So bravo to the bravery and courage because it would be easy to give up, but they stayed on to dig deeper, not turn away till they had answers - such a mixture of emotion and empathy- we are all our “brothers keepers”.
Just finished. This was so heartbreaking but at the same time had so many life lessons to help everyone of us. A story of a life with a quick ending but that had so many untold big events that affected in a bad way everyone in this story.... A huge respect for the blonde lady that at the end said that Suzanne would be that kind of person who are able to continue living and overcome the trauma. Very sad but wise words.
Netflix never cease to amaze me with their series and documentaries, tbh I can’t see anything evil or horrible from seeing the picture but im curious now😨can’t wait. Even horror movies isn’t horrific or bad lol but it’s always real stuff that’s scary af
he murdered her mother and abducted her - raised her as his daughter and also to be his wife ( he killed 3 or 4 other women and children ) she is not his biological daughter
He murdered my mom’s best friend, who was this girl’s coworker, because she was threatening to tell on him & free her. He kidnapped her as a child, then married her. The whole thing is nuts
OK, honestly, this looks like a very interesting story. I am pretty obsessed with True Crime. I am more interested in watching interviews with killers. It is the psychology, the mannerisms, the way they speak...it is all very fascinating to me. I'm 39 now, I've been watching stuff like this since I was about 17. Starting with the old school shows with my Gram on the weekends. 48 Hours, 20/20, Dateline, etc. We loved that time spent together. However, nowadays it feels like on one hand I want to see this story but on the other hand, I feel like things like this shouldn't be entertainment even though while watching these types of shows I'm just usually feeling devastated, angry...not enjoyment in a way that I would enjoy an episode of Bob's Burgers, ya know? Does anyone else feel sort of torn when it comes to True Crime? Maybe not this case specifically but just in general? Like what about the family of the victims and how they are harassed by reporters and journalists...or being bothered by those women in their 40's with a true crime podcast that wants to get an interview or new piece of information? It feels wrong...yet I still watch shows like Fear Thy Neighbor, Paula Zahn, American Monster, Evil Lives Here, Exhumed, Murdered By Morning, Snapped...there's a lot. When the family is actively participating in the show, it doesn't feel as bad. Does anyone else just feel kind of icky about it?
as humans we have always had this innate fascination with crime. I think theres a lot of reasons why. I don't think theres anything wrong with it being something we like yo look into but I do have a problem with the huge sensationalism of it. these crimes are part of our history and i think it's important we learn about them, not only to honor the people who lost their lives but to learn from these situations on how to be safer, how to be critical of the justice system, how to have our own stuff handled in the even something happens, the importance of raising children well and seeking help in scary situations, etc. its also extremely important in helping unsolved/cold cases. unfortunately in order for many people to learn these things the media has to broadcast it which in turn sensationalizes it. its a catch 22. I think as individuals as long as WE understand our motivations for consuming it and we use what we learn to help create a aafer and better future and honor victims thats all we can do.
I don’t ever look at true crime as “entertainment”. I look at it no different than I would any documentary which for me is to become educated about a subject and take something away from it. I say that even if it is learning how humans can and do behave towards one another and the psychology behind it or the technology behind how they are caught.
My sister watches true crime as a way to almost continue to hate the world. It fuels her anger when she can't deal with her emotions. She redirects it... which isn't healthy 😔😒
It’s sad that Suzanne’s biological dad was dealing with the after effects of war but why didn’t the grandparents from either side try to take the girls?
That is why you need to be very very careful about taking a man inside your house when you have children. Very very sad story specially when she was a scholar student. RIP beautiful angel.
I just finished it. I cried a lot. The man who kidnapped her has got to have killed/kidnapped more people…am I the only one thinking that? Also since they never found Michaels body I’m not entirely convinced he is dead. Because the kidnapper had tapes and pictures I’m pretty sure he was involved in sex trafficking in some way. I have a lot of questions and I don’t think this case should be case closed and shut.
@@Grslxi it's possible since when he kidnapped Suzanne she also had a brother that he also kidnapped and ended up with a couple. I really hope Michael is alive
It's hard to fathom what Suzanne had to endure yet in so many ways she was strong. I wish she would have asked for help. By the end of the documentary, I was so saddened for Suzanne and her little boy, Michael. If Michael has passed, at least they are together and in peace.
If this bitch who witness her been rape told her parents maybe her life would been better. People need to learn to talk when witnessing something even if it cost them life. A lot people died because a lot keeps quite. Please call the police when you see something wrong or someone being hurt. It helps safe life
When I saw Daniella Kristy cover this story honestly it really really makes me sick to my stomach to think that this was a true story and I'm glad this is getting recognized.
just done watching this. it's one of the most sick and twisted true crime documentaries I've seen in a while. You may now rest in Peace Suzanne Marie and Michael.
The real monsters in this case are definitely Suzzane's parents, who have both abandoned her at such a young age and haven't even bothered to find out their daughter's whereabouts or what really happened to her...soo sad
I was left with the "Imagine deciding to serve a country before staying to protect your childs" rolling in my head. If her dad had been there for his family, I bet everything would have been different for her, then he came back all fu*cked up and split away and her mother was alone dealing with everything. Sharon/Tonya/ Susan (so many names) was so smart, so beautiful, so unfortunate. And I agree with the ex stripper blonde lady, her mom could do more in order to find her. And let's not even talk about how bad it went for the baby boy. Imagine getting born to live a life like she did, also the little boy.
The dad served in the military no different from army wives of today. She left him and started seeing someone else and then eventually married this evil maniac. You mean to tell me she never recognized that the psycho on America’s most Wanted TV show or plastered over the news was her ex husband and daughter? ! Please! This She knew all along the identity of that girl. 🤔
I’ve watched hundreds and thousands of crime documentaries but this one has to be the most difficult one to process!! I don’t think any crime documentary has affected me the way this one did!! I was in tears by the end and I’m deeply saddened by Sharon’s story, it’s devastating!! She was kind, one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever seen, smart and everything and she didn’t deserve any of this!! May her soul rest in peace!!🤍✨
The system has failed us. He should have never been released after his 1st crime. Michael should have immediately been placed in the witness protection. Suzanne's mother/father should have cried for more help when her 3 daughters were kidnapped. Terrible outcome. Im devastated 💔
I can't believe her biological mom did not come forward after Floyd's pictures were all over the news!!! Suzanne's best friend's mom in high school was able to recognize Suzanne from the news, & yet, her biological mom could not even recognized the guy she married and took her daughter?? WTF!!!
This was an unbelievably twisted story. Men can be so disgustingly calculated and very precise with every motivation they've intended before handling these kinds of crimes. Just when you think everything was so wholesome and picture-perfect from the start-you might wanna rethink. After all, nothing is what it seems on the surface. People are just so cruel and manipulative that even you have trouble believing it.
After seeing the film I really got enraged at Suzanne's mom ...she had a long life while that beautiful Suzanne's life was cut short ...All Suzanne's mom did was to have fun ...changed man after man and got pregnant again and again ..thats all she did in her entire life ...she never bothered abt her children 😡
i'm a massive true crime addict. nothing can explain the way my face fell and how my heart DROPPED when i heard the girls name was my MOTHERS NAME- this is the creepiest thing ever omg
If there's one thing that should be done.. parenting or anything like that should be added as a curriculum in schools, may it be in high school or college. I blame the bad parenting that happened to Suzzane/Sharon/Tonya... her parents were young and dumb and didn't even care or tried harder to find her. It makes me sick to my stomach that there's a lot of cases of abused and missing kids all because of their parents are mentally not ready to be parent.
They failed to mention her brother Philip that was found in 2020 I'm assuming he didn't wanna be in the doc. I'm surprised her mom didn't mention him. Absolutely sick story so sad..
I reeked like a baby after watching this, even throughout it. There are so many heartbreaking, soul crushing stories out there but this really effected me. What a waste of life, it’s infuriating what Suzanne had to go through, absolutely heartbreaking and infuriating! and her son Michael, pretty much everyone that was effected or harmed by this disgusting evil man. I hope they are resting in peace, he can’t harm you anymore 🥺
This documentary gave me such heartache and hope at the same time. The incredible investigators, who never gave up on Sharon and Michael are real heroes and am so grateful they exist and did this for Sharon and Michael. Rest in peace sweet angels. 💕
I feel hearthbroken and so sad,. I just can't stop crying. I can't believe that her biological mother slept at night while she knew her child is with that monster!!!!!!!!!
The worst is that neither the mother or her father cared about her. How could they sleep every night? Simply accepted the situation and didn’t care about her future in his hands, that’s so so sad.

There are crime stories where the deaths are grislier and the body count far higher, but this is one of the saddest and most gut-wrenching things I've ever watched. There is just something about the fact that this poor girl died never even knowing her own real name that just tears my heart out. People like the guy in this story remind me of the opening line of an article that I believe was written about the Polly Klaas case. It said something to the effect, "We tuck our children into their beds; kiss them goodnight and tell them to sleep well because there are no real monsters"...... "But we lie."
This is why horror movies don't even get an emotional response from me. Nothing can be nearly as horrible as people are in real life.

To think she got a scholarship at Georgia Tech for aerospace engineering and wasn’t able to fulfil this and get away from that monster is the most awful moment for her.

I know. I watched it recently and the Dad's confession, im still shocked
This one’s quite similar, with all the twists and turns it takes - and how utterly sick and disgusting it is 🤢
Just watched this. It was utterly devastating. I was in tears at the end. Very well made.
Even after everything he did to her, everything he made her do.... she didn't become like him
The sickest fact about this case is that the mother reported her daughter was missing on the same day her husband abducter her little girl. And guess what?! Authorities did nothing becuase she was with her "dad".
Stepfather... i don't understand what kind of rights the stepfather have with the kids...
Is that report really the truth or just a lie.
She probably never reported it
*I always wanted a documentary on Sharon's case and looks like Netflix has done it*
Perfect trailer for such a horrifying case
Yes!
What was the case
I just saw a different documentary on this story yesterday. Talk about what a Creepy story.
@@shaquilleoatmeal7145 Sharon Tate case
RIP susie 👧
The most memorable part of this for me was “why didn’t she ask me for help when we were alone?”
Oh so much that woman doesn’t know.
This is a tragic story. So very sad.
That's the saddest thing. She didn't even know she needed help. That monster normalised the abuse and brainwashed her all her life. She had no chance.
That part stood out to me also. I'm not sure whether that woman, at any point, considered that a girl abused, groomed and manipulated since early childhood might not do the expected thing.
I said, “why didn't you, an older woman, ask?”
She noticed he did most of the talking and their vast age difference.
@@spiritqueen11 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The mother cheated and then married a random man with no background check. I mean she was at fault.
I got tears in my eyes when megan said her baby’s name is Micheal.
Netflix never cease to amaze me with their series and documentaries, tbh I can’t see anything evil or horrible from seeing the picture but im curious now😨can’t wait. Even horror movies isn’t horrific or bad lol but it’s always real stuff that’s scary af
I grew up listening to this case and it is insane how you look at the picture after you know everything
he murdered her mother and abducted her - raised her as his daughter and also to be his wife ( he killed 3 or 4 other women and children ) she is not his biological daughter
but they are okay with grooming kids, not okay with protestution
I remember this case on another true crime show on youtube (EWU-Explore With Us) did a doc on this crazy twist at the end. 👀
If youre into true crime , youll love her story . I still think about her , after listening to her story a year ago
you're human, you have a conscience. When you stop feeling sick for watching these, then start worrying.
as humans we have always had this innate fascination with crime.
How can someone be so tragic and emotionless. Rip Suzanne and Michael. Nobody deserves this.
Was thinking the same, not sure that Michael is dead. As he mentioned also that he left Michael with a rich person it makes me think he sold Michael
I remember this story. It's highly confusing and disturbing. How can a person do this???
He was drafted, you have to go or you go to jail. Not like he was some gung ho patriot
So, was Floyd the father of Megan then? Or one of the guys from the strip Bar?
What a horrible life Suzanne had 🙈😭
right it's all dad's fault. I can tell what kinda person you are just from one comment. mom was the victim. give me a break
@OX 808 XO he only had 1 daughter
I think stories of Sylvia Likens, Junko Furuta and Suzie really are heartbreaking. Just shows how twisted and evil some people can be.
WTF!!!
Very true!
Yeah i could understand that she didnt recognised her own grown up daughter but how she couldnt recognised the man that she married 15 years ago?
Yes. I love it when Netflix do documentary.
Me too once it's not about H + M, then no problem
i'm a massive true crime addict. nothing can explain the way my face fell and how my heart DROPPED when i heard the girls name was my MOTHERS NAME- this is the creepiest thing ever omg
Netflix do knock it out of the park with their true crime documentary films. Nothing compares to true documentaries from Netflix.
I read about this case a long time ago, it is absolutely crazy.
Surprised I've never heard of this case. Should be a good one.
They found her brother alive, which really shocked me because I always figured he put her son wherever he put the brother.
*This **_would_** show up on my homepage on "Fathers' Day.".*
GOD/Universe has some wicked humor.💙
I remember reading about this case one night and I couldn't sleep for the next few days.
Such utter devastation and hopelessness.
This is the saddest story I've ever heard. I cried at the end.
The friend could’ve easily saved her by speaking up and saving her life most likely.
They failed to mention her brother Philip that was found in 2020 I'm assuming he didn't wanna be in the doc. I'm surprised her mom didn't mention him. Absolutely sick story so sad..
honestly they didnt have time to include anyone else this should have been a 6 part series
The lack of interest that that mother had for her children, I wouldn't be surprised if she completely forgot he existed.
I watched this whole entire documentary! I blame Suzanne’s birth mother due to the fact is that she divorced her husband because he was in the Vietnam War which was a dangerous war! Cheated on her husband Suzanne’s birth father with another man got married to him he divorced her. She ended becoming a single mother living in a trailer park then she married the man that abducted Suzanne and her other children which was crazy! She was a weak mother!

Everything about this case/story is absolutely heartbreaking. There is no happy ending..
***SPOILER*** There is, in a way. She has her identity back, and her daughter has been reunited with her grandfather and other relatives. Nothing can bring Sharon/Suzanne or her son Michael back, but at least her true identity has been revealed and the remainder of her family has been reunited.
This angered me. The mother and her friend and the strip club owner they just sat it out, waiting to be documented in the end. This was totally avoidable. Just so frickin sad.
I feel so bad that people had to go through this and some still do
This story has the most shocking plot twists ever I envy who don't know the full story about this little girl
This Netflix special moved me more than all others combined, because of what was in this woman's ❤,mind & soul. The WILL""""TO OVERCOME, REMARKABLE!
What a sad story, this child was betrayed by her own mother first and foremost, and then her own real father too. The mother should never have left her first husband, she put herself and her kids in a financial dilemma more than once and then never bothered looking for her child or children!? What an imbecile, just to get married to any old man, never trust your kids with other men.
And the real father should have man up and keep his girls but he was a pxssy too . that is why not everyone should be a parent
I am honestly incredibly sad about the mothers Story - she was poor and alone I don't understand what happened maybe she is Just telling Herself that it doesn't Matter to her or maybe she is a Bad Person too.. i think maybe she Had some substance abuse issues Herself.. i cant understand otherwise how a mother can Stop thinking about her own child

To me this documentary is on par with the Gabriel Hernandez one both very emotional and heartbreaking for someone to go though such unimaginable circumstances I mean I cried through both of these like a baby man both Gabriel and Sharon Marshall (real name Suzanne Marie Sevakis) went through so much pain and horror but what struck me about both of them was how much their courage, kindness, And love shine through despite the horrible situation they were in…So to the both of you Rest In Peace and Rest in Love may god forever hold both of you in his love and embrace 🙏🙏❤️❤️

😭😭😭😭😭
Exactly!💯Gabriel Hernandez story has never left my heart after I watched it was sooooo heartbreaking!!!!!
This story has such a heartbreaking ending
There are crime stories where the deaths are grislier and the body count far higher, but this is one of the saddest and most gut-wrenching things I've ever watched. There is just something about the fact that this poor girl died never even knowing her own real name that just tears my heart out. People like the guy in this story remind me of the opening line of an article that I believe was written about the Polly Klaas case. It said something to the effect, "We tuck our children into their beds; kiss them goodnight and tell them to sleep well because there are no real monsters"...... "But we lie."
When they showed her picture of her smiling had me in tears.
Wow, her mother was something else. Was her 2 sister's ever located, the Documentary didn't mention anything except they were dropped off by Floyd.
