I loved the Kongo River at Calypso and we got a huge Discount on tickets and went on the very last week of June this summer. It was rainy and very few lines. I did this 2 times and some of the others I did twice too. You looked so awesome in that Tiger like Swim suit you wore. Calypso is a great water park outside of Ottawa.
Believe it or not but I live 5 minutes away from Calypso. So I don't have issues with parking since I get there before it opens. But I know what it's like for others to drive for an hour and a half to get there because when I was younger, Calypso didn't existed yet so I went to a waterslide in Quebec that took at least 2 hour drive. For some reason this year, the park closes at 6 PM now. It used to close at around 8 I think.
crazy people still watch this, I was 13 when i filmed this video and im 21 now and moved away from ottawa. Used to take us around an hour and a half to get there but we had season passes since we went so much. Amazing park just wish it had been a bit closer to the centre of Ottawa (Not really possible with land but one can dream
@@user-cl4yu9tn3udamn this video is a decade now old now I just went to calypso recently and I went in thr lazy river to Not much has changed overtime although alot of the things that shoot out water have stopped working and a few animatronics stopped working to and the elephant has stopped making noises but it was still pretty cool!
Ah yes the wave area. People like myself always intend to get stuck there just for fun. Good times really. I am going there either tomorrow or the next day.
I went there when it was brand new that year. Unfortunately the cauldron didn't had steam coming out and with the ASMR of bubbling noise and a person falling/screaming into the cauldron didn't felt realistic until I went back the year after and the steam was there.

There was no native chanting, thr elephant wasn't spraying water, no sounds like you're in the jungle, the cave was quiet except for the tv screen when there's thunder. I went to ask the life guard how come they weren't working, they said that they do work but they remained off for this year. Why? I don't know. Huge disappointment for first timers and the kids.

We are expecting us to hear sounds that we're in a jungle, while entering a cauldron with fog while we hear bubbling sounds and a person scream-falling with a splash, the native chanting as they pour water on us, elephant spraying water at us, a cave that makes sounds of drumming, a wave section. And we only got 15% of it. That ride felt like a lazy river on a tube. Well it is but you know what I mean.
