Have it. Love it. After years and years of fighting with heavy lamp amps now I feel free to play any gig with just guitar and backpack. Man - this plays just great. I bought branch of clones and it just shines. Go for it!
A bit aggravating how good this sounds. But, do I regret my 200+ pedals (many purchases influenced by this show...one that even came directly from Ryan's garage)-? Only when I move-- otherwise, no. Weird as it sounds, I'm inspired by the aesthetics and functional limitations and tactile experience of actual pedals. But this is nice. P.S. I want that micro battery amp patch. Brilliant!
I agree about sticking with pedals for the total experience. Also, most pedals are just industrial electrical components that can be repaired forever. These computer things will fail and there's no repair if you don't have a backup of the operating system software and all of its updates.
@@Crispy_Music_2024 I hsd that thought, too. Still, I believe these things allow you to dump to a harddrive. But, pedals keep on keepin on when software goes out of date and drivers deteriorate or aren't available for update. Still a few Maestro Fuzz Tones or Binson Echorecs around....
Headrush just released a Firmware update with software editor. Plus you get the Revalver amp cloning stuff free with the Prime, Core and Flex Prime. Hard to beat what Headrush is offering for the money

It really was an "all in one" solution for me, tracks, vocals, and guitar...but you have to sacrifice guitar effect blocks to do vocals at the same time. So....what does all of this mean? What you've said you "hear" about FAS is definitely BS. For one their presets are fully usable and excellent. It's possibly the best out of the box modeler you can get in that regard. The defaults are excellent and amp-like. No bizarre EQ tricks or compression needed to enjoy that. That said, yeah, it has lots of options to take you far beyond that if you like.
@@TJEvans98 this is a good overview. I'm giving the HR core a try. I understand all the community stuff etc, but it seems SO EASY to dial in and I've got kids and very little time to play. I've got that processor I like it quite a bit you know I watch Daryl Braun guitar A Lot 2 I wonder if something's happened to him because I haven't seen any new videos in a couple months
Hello! Great review! You’re the only that showed the vocal effects. I’ve just one question; is it have two outputs one for mic and one for guitar or they come out with one output together?
The purpose of companies putting out digital gear is because it'll fail, go obsolete, and can't be repaired if you don't have the core software to install on the hard drive, which means future generations have to buy something as opposed to continuing to use old equipment.
Some of it will last for decades. Back in 95 I had a Digitech RP10 which had a hardware error early on, but the slightly older Digitech rack multi fx from back then still works. Boss GT6, 8, 100 and Line6 Pod XT Live also still work. Using a GT1000 Core as my main fx unit now, only thing it is sensitive to is the placement on top of my poweramp, to much heat building up at certain spots, the 1000C produces quite some heat on it’s own. Also using a NUX Amp Academy with it for the JCM sound, which with low bias and gain sounds more like a JTM together with the drives from the GT that I use in front of it. The cool thing and reason for me using that Boss unit over others is that the divider blocks can be set to input sensivity, which means that the guitars volume is all that is needed to go fron a rythm sound to a much louder lead sound with auto wah, delay and more output volume, perfect for having more on top at full volume without having a single pedal on the floor. I see a lot of talk around updates/patches, which is fine if there are issues, but I never learned to count on them to include new features, probably because it wasn’t a thing back in time, plus that selling a brand new unit with bugs/errors just would have been bad. It is always nice to get new features though, but bugs shouldn’t even exist upon release.
@@JoeBaermann You make good points. In fact, my old Digitech RP50 still works (and sounds great), I busked and gigged with it all last summer. I mostly play clean-ish tones, though.
well this is a fun looking toy. probably way too expensive for my tastes, but some folks will undoubtedly get some good use out of it. that vocal stuff is nuts. you can make yourself an instant shoegaze singer, or that silly autotune mumble rap stuff -you could do that through this, but also play guitar on it....
Does it surf? Hi Ryan, I’ve seen many demo’s of this pedal board and even though I haven’t tried it first hand I would say that it’s right up there with the Quad Cortex. I love the Fender Strat your using to demo this. The HSS configuration is the best way to get all sorts of different tones. Great demo as always! Get naked, get your surf on, and keep it bluesy.
At $800 bucks I doubt many of us will find these at our neighborhood music gear shops. That means no test drives and I don't buy things that expensive without demoing them.
They have headrush units out for demo at the Guitar Centers near me, odds are if someone wants to try one, they're more accessible than you may expect.

I dig digital gear, but I do wonder about the longevity of some of these pricier units. I have analog Boss pedals from the '80s that still work.
More BH surfers please.
well this is a fun looking toy. probably way too expensive for my tastes, but some folks will undoubtedly get some good use out of it. that vocal stuff is nuts. you can make yourself an instant shoegaze singer, or that silly autotune mumble rap stuff -you could do that through this, but also play guitar on it....
ALSO, you missed a great opportunity to do the "stay grounded" bit through the vocoder weirdness....
A few vocal lessons with a proper instructor for breath control and posture, you'd have a voice I'd go to listen too👍
i used to be a lot better practiced at singing. Its been a good 15 years since i sang regularly.
“The name of the channel” sorry somebody had to do it!
Nice device, but it does not fit the affordaboard really, i think ..
most of my videos are not afford a board videos.
Seems really affordable compared to a bunch of pedals and the Prime unit.
Does it drip? Or did I already miss that part?
I think he said it did
I would answer but seeing as though you clearly have the attention span of a gnat, what's the point... I doubt you'd remember.
This...or a Strymon pedal..
I Like Pepper
She is fine. Much cuter than Salt
The unit and features are good. But the community ecosystem is just not there. The Cloud is dead for now, very little patches and uploads.
Headrush needs to add a PC editor. I gave up my MX5 because of the lack of an editor, but I'll get one again if they make one.
Pretty sure you're a baritone
I can see you doing some Tom Petty tunes
I actually like most Orange clones better than actual Orange valve amp sounds!
@@BearBrush That's good to hear because they need to get them out amongst musicians if they intend on selling them.
