Indeed very good to hear from you again! I enjoy listening to you! You make me realise what a nice global community we have. And don’t worry about the seasons; that’s how life goes! Take care!
absolutely wonderful to have you back. I'm not part of the radio hobby (outside of using them for musical performance) but I have always enjoyed your videos. It's great to see a new upload!
I too did go quiet with short wave fixing after going through some personal issues. Only recently took a couple off the shelf and started again so I think it's normal. Good to hear from you always a pleasure.
I have this exact model sitting in my basement, kind of a rough shape. Currently studying to get my technician license before the end of November, and hopefully get my general license by early spring.
I buy radios for a while, then I sell them again, I buy synthesizers for a while, I sell them for a while, photography equipment for a while, I sell and buy radios for a while... I see magic in this for a while, and then in something else. But I often keep some of it. I thought I was weird, but I guess I'm not the only one :) Thank you for this thought PS.: But the older I get, the more I try to simplify my life and not overwhelm myself with material things.
I hear you, I shut down and sold everything back in 83, 84. About 5 years ago, my wife bought me a FT-1200, and FT-400 with antennas. Well, my radios plus has multiplied and now have 9 units, an antenna farm, 50 ft freestanding tower, a 35ft tower, and since I've had it, I may have talked 2, 3, hours. lol. I tried code and my timing is off, so just bought a training key. :) So, I just wanted to say, you're not along.
Very stable VFO! Much more so than my TS830S. I really liked the White VFO window on the original TS-520. Not sure why Kenwood only did that with the 520.

WOW A blast from the past
When I became a novice back in 1982, that was my first rig. I always remember it as a solid performer that provided many hours of solid radio fun!
Thanks for the video nice to be back. Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱📻

Guy around 16:00 sounded like “Sling blade” guy 😄
Welcome back. What sort of antenna are you using? I’m guessing some sort of fun home brew…
I have the TS 520se and the TS530sp. The 530 has "WARC", bands
Very long time gone.
