My amazing art teacher has this figure, he collects like me! But this makes the McFarlane look like an in-articulate kids toy! All that articulation! Jeez!
The memories my 6 year old self had wih this figure... Ive still got him, just sans left hand with a lot of paint scuffs!! Brilliant figure, sparked my interest in collecting
I remember picking this guy up at Toys R Us in 2004 when i was 12, $50 worth spending on a fantastic action figure! I still have him 10 years later and he has aged well!
I bought this at Wal-Mart for 19 bucks when I first started collecting. It came out with Spider-Man 2 and is still by far the most posesable and awesome figure I own or have seen...to this day still my favorite piece. It can do anything you have ever seen Spider-Man do on any comic, cartoon, movie, game, or anything.
Probably the best toy I ever had as a kid. But while the hand and fingers articulation is really neat when you're a kid who like to make his toys fight rather roughly those things tend to break really easily.
they should remake this but with the sculpt of the amazing spiderman 2 movie costume. Tasm 2 is nothing compared to spiderman 2 but the costume was nice
Double-jointed toes, individual, triple-jointed fingers, and all 3 diaphragm, abdomen, and waist joints on the torso?! Damn this figure is incredible!!!
The sculpt vs. articulation for me, depends on character design. Bringing up import lines like SH Figuarts, you see which figures benefit from hiding joints like Kamen Riders & Power Rangers/Sentai; it's a lot easier on armored characters. It looks worse on bare skin (elbows, knees) but there's not much you can do about that. Back to Spidey, the head always bothered me on this guy and it still does. I kind of wish it re-used or resembled the 6" toy's head a bit more consider how far apart and vertical the eyes are positioned. But great review nonetheless and I still can't believe the price this guy originally retailed at :o
I own 6 of these guys. They make great artists models for studying the human form. I also can stage battle scenes with them then sketch from any angle. I love putting him up against the 18 Inch iron man. I would think this is a must have for comic book artists.
got this figure when i was like 9 or 10, went to a large mall one of the shops were a large sale, and so my siblings and cousins were allowed to pick out something they wanted , i discovered this figure, proceeded to get it and got it for christmas, wish i protected it more though, my little bro got to it and well, its never been the same again, so yeah also great vid, i got to learn about the figure and see it in all its full glory, pretty cool
One big problem though... Spider-Man in the Raimi trilogy has organic webbing. Why not just make a hole on the wrist instead of giving him a web-shooter? Was it so it can actually shoot the webs?
I remember seeing this on clearance for cheap, figured I would go back and grab it later if I wanted it(don't do 18 inch figs)of course decided I wanted it but it was gone. Great looking figure.going to have to hunt one down now.
Hey shartimus!!!! I just got mine on Friday and this video inspired me to get this figure. He is totally amazing and the best figure I ever got personally. I spent my free time posing him around, and your right the possibility on this figure is AMAZING, I grew up with this spiderman and he is a legend(no offense Andrew garfield)anyway thank you shartimus for inspiring me to add this wonderful figure to my collection.
I was still in Highschool when this figure was release with a 1000+ philippines pesos but I don't had that kind of money when I was still in highschool so i only bought the 6 inches articulated figure, 7 yrs later i bought a MIB in ebay for the price of 5000 philippines pesos from my salary of course, and I can say that it's worth every cents, didn't regret it and 9 years later after my purchase this figure still in good condition, i really took good care of it.
Just paid 75 bucks for one out of the package a couple days ago I used to own one as a kid and it was my favorite toy ever but money got tight and I had to sell it im so happy to be getting one again even if its used out of the package
awesome review shartimus i still want this one and the super poseable one from the same movie definitely on my holy grails list im hoping i can find one at a good deal wish i woulda got them back in the day but anyway keep up the awesome videos man
I have this Spider-Man toy In my collection and I love it, Since toybiz is gone Hopefully Hasbro will remake this toy Into a 12 inch action figure, If that happens I will 100% buy it.
when I was child I never had the money to buy these kind of figures, but my rich cousin had that spider-man. It was so fucking awesome, I always want that toy...lol I didnt remember it until today
When I was five years old I gave it to my uncle is a gift. Even though the price is crazy expensive they go for $270 in the worst possible condition I have no regrets. Crazy I never paid for it but all I know is my parents and no world would they pay that much lol
I've seen them(and bought two in said condition) go for around £130 or £150 in new sealed condition. They've never gone for that crazy price you mentioned, not used anyway.
@@prufan It may have gone for that at some point somewhere. But it is more likely it was just listed at that price. Pretty much any item can be listed at any price, but if you look week to week they stay up forever and only go down when the poster gives up selling or lowers the price to sometjing like "market price". Think you can look up past ebay sales somewhere if you're really interested in the "going rate" for it.
incredible, articulable and maintains the real proportions of the body, especially in the shoulders that, at least I have seen, that the action figures of hot toys, almost always do with disproportionate small shoulders, so should be all the articulatable figures ,
$25!?!!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!??!? SOMEONE BUILD A TIME MACHINE
You can that again
@@Hankdaaatank what.
It's rare tho
WHEN YOU GET A FIGURE WITH FINGER ARTICULATION THE FRIST THING YOU DO IS STICK THE MIDDLE FINGER
Ture Ture
i always do that xD
SO TRUE
Exactly what I did with the Buzz Lightyear signature collection.
Aamar Petite
So sad we don't get figures like these anymore. It even comes with accessories! Most Figures these days don't even have those anymore...
Catty Mintgum yeahhh
Master sashimi I agree 😔
hey dude I saw some of your comments on a jobbythehong video. Great to see again man
because hasbro is lazy
Revoltech? 😕
People who complain about articulation taking away from the sculpt should just get statues. I want my action figures to convey action in their poses.
Hustle Simmons Someone said it
Hell yeah
God! I remember having this! I am off to my grandmas house to reclaim it!
Did you find it?

Best figure Marvel & Toybiz ever put out.
Awesome review, Spartacus! I found that figure at a thrift store 4 months ago for $3! That was a no-brainer pickup!
Still have mine from when it came out 10 years ago. Crazy to think that's how hold it is.
I used to have that figure when I was little. I MISS IT SO MUCH 😭
Get it again!
it's great that you point out the thing with the "articulation breaking sculpt", great figure and great review as always man :)
One big problem though...
Spider-Man in the Raimi trilogy has organic webbing. Why not just make a hole on the wrist instead of giving him a web-shooter? Was it so it can actually shoot the webs?
Super Samurai Potato True.
Great review man! This is arguably my favorite figure in my collection; the articulation, detail, all of it is just superb.
Finally got em, can't wait for another top spiderman figures vid for the 60th anniversary!
i just picked one up at goodwill for 6 dollars with allllll fingers still intact
I saw this figure at comic con and the first thing I did was make both hands give you the middle finger
The *Best* Spiderman figure.
I personally hate taking off the hands and putting them back on.
Came across this video I have him hanging up on display in my office right now. Picked him up in like 2003 or 2004 for under $50.
i WISH I could get my hands on one of these!
thats awesome saw it in the sinister 6 poster book wish I had it when the movie came out!
I used to have this same figure that my older brother custom painted into the black suited spiderman.

67 points of articklation ! Wow. But even after all these years I,m still a sucker for the mcfarlane spiderman eyes
Hey shartimus there's a 18 inch doc ock to just get int from the place you got the spiderman
Great video!!! The Hot Toys TAMS2 figure looks like a 6 inch figure compared to this figure!!
he makes the 6 inch ones look like 3/4 inch figures
I thought it's about 5-6 inch tall but, BANG! IT'S HUGE AF!

He can rotate the thumb in and hold the hand like Ric Flair epic.
The fact this thing came out in 2002 is mind blowing…
2004

The fact that he came out us mind blowing
I just got one used and loose (but surprisingly in great condition) for about 18-20$ (180 NOK).
Had to jump on it when i saw it.
I actually had this as a kid!
Shartimus, is this the most articulated figure you have?
I use to want this figure soooo bad! I never could find it anywhere though.

Thank you for reviewing it man! I bought mine used for 25 dollars at comicon but his lower left knee joint is broken :(
I know someone who would be dying to get this :D nice review
How do you fix the loose articulation on a figure like this?
That figure is sick as hell
