Description: 00:00 Intro: A meter-efficient, sparkless TOD in limit break, showing his new links after 236L which is a major change to his combo structure. 00:25 Corner to corner carry. Once you get used to dashing after j.2L for 5M, the rest is quite straightforward. Hold forward when 236L connects to make him flip forward in the air. 00:42 Side-switch with 236L. If you can get 236L to connect from the lower side on an airborne target, holding forward afterward would make Vegeta appear on the other side. Otherwise, j.236S deals decent hitstun to allow Vegeta to land into a 5L link. 01:01 5L link after a whiffed 236L. Against smaller characters this is rather specific to where you start the combo, as you need to arrive in the corner after 236L. If it were done on a bulky character, you can link even 5M midscreen. Refer to the v1.32 video for an example on Majin Buu. 01:18 A few 236L loops in the corner. You don't need to hold any direction after 236L for it to work, but I find it somewhat easier when I held up-back. I think it makes Vegeta somewhat floats a little bit, so that j.M connects just slightly higher than without, so that the target's height is better maintained. 01:37 More 236L loops from a slightly different starter. 01:55 236L loops without using smash. If you can do j.236S close enough to the ground, there'd be enough time to link 236L upon landing. This one builds a bit more meter than the previous two routes. 02:13 Corner carry started with 236S from a distance where 236L can still reach. A j.H-5L link is done just because it is against Cell so why not. 02:30 Started with 236S from a distance out of 236L's range. You can use 236H if lazy, but if you are confident with your SD timing you can do a meterless rejump too (see the v1.32 video for reference). After 236H I ran up for a TK sj.236S, side switch after for fun. 02:47 Started with 236S from full screen separation. This is a ki blast spam combo for fun that doesn't use any of his L/M/H normals. 03:04 Cross-under side-switch into a j.H-5L link. 03:26 More meterless side-switches for fun. I imagine the starter might only work on a couple of characters (someone please try this on Cooler if interested). On SBroly this combo is very easy. Just slightly delay the first j.H. The rest is as straightforward as you can see. 03:44 The good old ZBroly-specific j.236S>j.L link with some other ingredients. I did a version of this in the v1.32 video. Thanks for the limit break change, this is now a TOD. 04:10 Sparking combo, 2M>sj.236S loop. It is generally not a good idea to use Consecutive Blasts early in a combo, but it's VEGETA'S TECHNIQUE afterall, so I'm just glad this can still kill after those Consecutive Blasts take up so much combo time. The trick to make this more consistent is to delay your 2369 motion after each 2M to ensure the 2-to-9 super jump input is registered. If you do the 2369 motion too early, you might just get a j.236S, and 2M after would not be possible.
peak music choice. SS Vegeta is now a much more flexible character, combo wise, and this is fantastic because that was one of the main reasons he fell off: his damage and options for what he wanted to do when comboing was so limited. Excellent as always Xiao, thanks for sharing these with us. You help make the game more enjoyable by giving us new heights to strive to.
Love it! saucy as f! Appreciated that it ended with Fat Buu getting clobbered/anime fidelity. P.S. I hit your Kid Buu sparking combo online quite a bit now (some are in my uploads). Thanks for the motivation and answering the questions early on. Hope you do a new Kid Buu video too.
Reasons why i love fighting games. When you first play some games, They can sometimes feel stiff or maybe heavy at first. Not all the time but quite a few times. But when you hit mastery with a character, or game, Where you can move anywhere you wish on the screen. When you can effectivly overcome gravity and limitation to achive ToDs and effective combos, Its truly a feeling nothing can replicate
This character finally has cool combos that are actually usable in match! This patch kinda sucks over all, but at least every character is fun to play.
He's combining little bits of knowledge; the dive kick bouce, the ki blast hitstun, the air link after 236L, etc. He probably finds a cool link and then tries to think of every way it can be applied. Can it side switch? Can it launch? Do I save launch for the end and finish with dragon rush? Can I get an OTG vanish in this combo? How can I get back to the ground and rejump? etc. etc.
Yea I don't think I can explain better than @xSaintxSmithx did in a general sense. It basically comes down to combination & permutation with a bit of stubbornness. It helps that if you know how combos work in the game, so even when you watch the video of a different character you could see things applicable to others.
@@YXiao thank you for the replies and insight @xSaintxSmithx as well! i thought i had a good understanding on how combo structured worked in this game. Now, im not so sure. Is there a good reference video on this exact topic?
I don't think there's any one particular video that explains well enough how to conceptualize this. But a lot of time to find new things you just need to step out of the comfort zone a bit, like trying a new character or a new game. For instance, I once thought I should try something with GFrieza because of some sequence I learned in UNICLR.
Probably a first time watching's perception, but nothing of this seems anything easy, given the timing on each attacks and the knowledge of each attacks' hitstun. Certainly a lot of labbing for the making of this video o_O
I don't have the setup for that now. But it's not like I changed my grip or anything, so the older ones are still good references, in case someone stumble upon this comment and is interested likewise: th-cam.com/video/2N9Y1jsNcBQ/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/orYjvo7986U/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUMdHJ1bmtzIGpoLTVs th-cam.com/video/vxhDk2HIBUo/w-d-xo.html
Hey Xiao. How do you get Vegeta to float back like that when you do his 236 L rocket kick like you did in the very first combo of you video? I swear I hold all types of directions and I never get him to float back like that lol

I liked the part where Vegeta did the ki blast barrage.
LOL
“Vegeta’s Technique”
the amount of hitstun on his ki blast barrage is insane

His combos are freaking meter builders. Love it that they essentially buffed ss vegeta into a top tier character
Thanks for still covering this game, Xiao. The new combo structure is nuts to watch. - Kalopsia
Eyy how have you been

@@YXiao I'm happy that you will, even if it takes longer. Thank you. :)
The way Vegeta's combo flow now is insane, he can style now

Told you vegeta comes back with a vengeance

Every character IS fun but the patch sucks... ok bro
dragon ball fighterz is in a renaissance right now
all we need is rollback lmao
Ong thats the only reason I don't play anymore. Tired of 7frame match ups
SSJ Vegeta went from being the driest character in the game, to now having prohibitive amount of sauce. GGs Xiao
5 years later and he finally has sauce!
If everyone is broken, then it's balanced
These combos are insane 🤣🙌🏽🙌🏽
Nice vid that last combo was dope
amazing as always. how do you come up with this stuff? do you have a strategy for when you approach combo structure?

ANOTHER BANGER🎉🎉🎉
Nice btw
Hey johnny arrived in strive
3:27 that was crazy
I love and hate you for that last combo. I've been trying to land it for the last 2 days lol.
I delay the TK 2369 motion every time to ensure I'm in the super jump input window, otherwise it'd become just a regular jump 236S
Absolute 🔥🔥🔥 hopefully u could do blue vegeta and super broly sometime soon
I bet this guy gets the most RIDICULOUS confirms in game😂😂
Ffx ost slaps, good shit
this is insane
What's more insane is seeing an old friend here. HOW HAVE YOU BEEEEEN

Ohh it looks like he generates a lot of meter? Is he like the fusions before the nerf? He might be fun to play with AGH then instead of Gogeta blue

do you have an optimal trunks corner combo you know of? I swear every single one is different.
edit: also would you ever make a trunks bnb guide? 🥲
Maybe you can turn to Kuwanger for bnb guides in general. I rarely make those.
