What are “standard songs”?
I'm a chinese student who immigrated to America. This song really brings home what yearned and looked forward to. During my graduate school I met a fellow chinese classmate, we fell in love and got married. Unbeknownst to me then, and until youtube algorism recommended your video, my wife looks like you, although a bit older now. I'm not going to make her mad, but I wish she could sing as beautifully as you. Thank you for putting an unexpected smile on my face. :)

It was one of the popular songs introduced into China in the early1990s. In most colleges in China, the song was broadcast when students were taking English classes or preparing the English capability tests such as Level 3, 4 and 6. I use to listen to the carpenters when I was growing up. felt sad when Karen died of anorexia. she had such a beautiful voice. thanks for bringing the memories and a beautiful song back.

You know what i like about this is the fact that Gigi has a "classy" voice. It's not a generic pop voice, and she isnt trying to sound like somebody else. She could probably do any genre of music.

Beautiful rendition of one of Karen’s best songs-you did it so well, you reminded me of how much I miss her and how important it is that we take anorexia and mental health disorders very seriously. As a physician, I have had to see too many amazing people lost to these diseases. We all need to stay aware and be willing to speak up when we see family members and friends struggling.
I am glad you did a number of her songs and based on views of your Carpenter’s song covers, I am not the only one deeply moved by Karen and the beautiful tribute you have paid to her. Thank you!

My son who is now 10 months old has been listening to this song since he was born. To say he loves it is an understatement. He laughs at the outro every time. We were definitely sad when we turned on the TV(TH-cam App) and didn’t see your video. Our routine felt ruin, but now all is well again! Thank you so much for making my baby happy again!! What's amazing is not just Gigi's ability to hit the notes, but to approximate the tones and vocalizations of Karen Carpenter. A lot of what made her singing unique was the shape of her mouth, her natural speaking accent, and her vowels. Somehow, Gigi trained herself to hear those nuances and reproduce a lot of them.

One of the most beautiful songs and Gigi's rendition is quite good. There were parts where Gigi sounded like Karen but there were also other parts that were of Gigi's - not bad. I'd like to hear her sing other Carpenter's song like "Touch me when we're dancing", "We've only just begun", or "Rainy days and Mondays"
