I can imagine why the turn over rate is extremely high. This job is not for the faint of heart. Also the sound design with earphones gives you that sense dread that gets your blood pumping.
That little note in 4:17 is a perfect touch of realism. "Wanna know something far more scary?? Forgetting to do your job with the grinder. Now get back to work!"
Honestly, if they were a little less frugal with the defense policy and warned the crew beforehand of dangerous fauna in the blood; it would be a pretty good job with a team of 2-3 people. Only 30 minutes of your day spent working to reach a set quota and maybe having an emergency on a bad day, but nothing that can't be ultimately resolved by the person operating the rig. Plus, the blood-wave doesn't seem that fast or powerful at all; a little emergency room for workers to get into while the blood washes over and around them could easily allow the corporation to double or triple a daily quota.
“If the rig is structurally durable enough to withstand even the strongest blood waves, then why can’t they just have built a safe room for workers during a surge event?” The answer is simple: money.
Imagine a multiplayer mode where you and a team have to handle a rig and meet an ever increasing quota, and the shifts get longer, the surge events get more frequent and the parasites inside the planet get more plentiful and deadlier, maybe requiring more hits to take out. Maybe even go one step further and actually have to travel through the Arterial map to go to other blood rigs. The concept is absolutely unique.

It's interesting what games can do with the concept of the "Banality of Evil". The concept of the banality of evil makes for a terrifying but at the same time comprehensible plot, which leads to a kind of indifference to existence and life itself. I am very curious to see which other games will build on this concept.
