    YangYang 你好,
    I noticed you are having a hard time to decide for either the controllable Hurrican or the dynamic Tenergy. Since I went through the same question I've found an unexpected solution: DHS actually knows they miss something like Tenergy and for solving the problem with the high tension spring sponges, they co-operated with German ESN which is a top supplier for lots of brands. The result is the relatively new Goldarc 8 (金弓8, 2017 release) which actually has much more control than Tenergy, similar spin to T05 and more end speed (try 50°). The Goldarc seems slow in passive play and accelerates quite a lot when you play active. ..a little heavy though. It is grippy but not sticky, not Chinese style and made in Germany with impeccable quality!!!
    This really ended my search and who knows... just my two cents!
    Your channel is great! Go on and greetings from Berlin as well!

    • @kevinfang6005
      @kevinfang6005 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bullshit, Goldarc 8 is just another ESN rubber like MXP. She would have used ESN if she liked it by now. Goldarc is not a "special" DHS rubber

    • @carloscandeias4706
      @carloscandeias4706 6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      I tried both, you obviously didn't. Goldarc 8 is pretty different to the MXP, also heavier. You may also refer to the revspin.com comments. Why so aggressive? This is an experience report you can take or not. From the product line strategy it is a needed line completing product apart from the Hurricane style. Looking for an ODM/OEM is not an unusual move.

      @antonyang7273 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Carlos, mau I know how long have you play with the DHS gold Arc 8 ? One question, is it really grippy to lift the ball just like a tacky hurricane ? I am concern since its not tacky on the surface

    • @carloscandeias4706
      @carloscandeias4706 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello Anton, the GoldArc 8 is very grippy, but not tacky like the Hurricane series. For me it was resolving my concerns about playing the T05. The spin is very similar, but it is more forgiving when receiving spin. It has a lot of gears, so it feels almost slow when pushing with high control, but then gets really fast when playing active.
      My blade is very fast (Jun Mizutani Super ZLC), but this way I can enjoy the power without loosing control. With T05 I felt too bouncy for the passive and push game.
      Now I'm playing both sides Goldarc 8, 50°, max since four month.

      @@kevinfang6005GoldARC8 is certainly a ESN Tensor, but prove that MXP is one.. ^_^ (Tibhar is quite coy about it, and it's more like a Japanese sheet, at least in terms of dimensions - it's about 1cm longer than all the Tensors I've measured.)

    I believe rubbers alone can not be assessed!they are in a close relation to the blade(a match paired indeed)!!Tenergy 05 maybe very good with Mizutani blade but not so good with Timo boll ZLC!!so talking about rubbers you need to clarify the blade at the same time!That is we have to talk about proper matches indeed!which matches are better for which styles or types of players!

    • @iskandartaib
      @iskandartaib 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In my opinion (conventional inverted) rubbers are actually more alike than they are different. There are differences, of course, but they're actually quite hard to tell from one to another, even if you mount them on opposite sides of the same blade. You sometimes have to stop and think about what the differences are when you're hitting with them, since these differences are so subtle. So rubber choice is overblown - most rubbers will work, and there are broad categories of rubber (e.g. Tensors with soft sponge) that can be easily interchanged with each other with no discernable differences (buy the cheapest one and you'll be just as well off as if you bought the most expensive one). Brett Clarke on OOAK Forum made a comment once - apparently, to professionals, there's only three types of rubber. Tenergy, German (Tensors) and Chinese - each of these has its own characteristics and flaws, and pros will choose one of these three depending on what they want (most choose Tenergy, if you've noticed). To us enthusiasts, of course, it's a lot more complicated, but that's because we want it to be, not because it really matters all that much. (Unless you're talking about long or short pips, or anti, of course..)

      H3 neo commercial too slow for modern player. You need to use prov or national blue sponge. I can say that no internet site have a real h3. Prott, ttnpp, terrapong also sell fake h3 rubber. I spend about 14 year in order to find a real rubber and I find it.

    • @samuelkuhn6335
      @samuelkuhn6335 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      thats exactly the point. When you spectate pros with hurricane 3 they go down deep and explode with power out of the leggs. She only moved her arm and her hipp a bit so I think she isn't correct with saying that its not fast. For playing good with this kind of rubbers you need verry good trained leggs and not good arms like for esn rubbers.

    Blade: Stiga Allround Classic FH Rubber: DHS Hurricane 8 BH Rubber: Butterfly Tenergy 05
    I know no one asked but I would like to give my opinion on equipment. I always prefer using a flexible blade with a harder rubber because of dwell time and kick effect, although I have only been playing for a year and a bit so I am still developing strokes but as I get on I know I have to move on to a faster blade such as Stiga Infinity Diamond VPS then work my way up to something more like a Butterfly Viscaria. I like using hard tacky Chinese rubber on the forehand as you can hit harder with the forehand than you can with the backhand. With more output power Chinese rubber (with booster) is actually faster than tensor or high tension rubbers, although that is more suited towards high-level players. Chinese rubber does still have its perks for low-level players as due to the longer dwell time you can learn full strokes. For backhand rubber, the stroke is shorter and less powerful so that is why I opt for high tension/ tensor rubbers as they are fast with a low output. This is the setup the Chinese men's players use. Although, when you are starting out you should use something a bit slower such as the Friendship RITC 2000 tack speed. The thing with Tensor/ High tension rubbers is that there is a limit to how fast a ball can be hit but with Chinese rubber, there is not. Although, Tensor/ High tension rubbers are faster with less power. Starting out I used a 5 ply unbranded blade that came with my table tennis table (it seemed to be an all-round blade). I used a DHS Hurricane 3 on my forehand and a Friendship RITC 2000 tack speed on my backhand. After 6 months of training every day for about 4 hrs, the rubbers were completely worn out and my blade was starting to break. I then bought a Stiga All-round Classic blade and I wanted to try the Hurricane 8, also I had the Yinhe Big Dipper on my backhand (a tensor and high tension rubber although still tacky, it's a very good rubber and I recommend it). My friend owed me a favor and he gave me the bat of one of his friends and it was: Butterfly Timo Boll ALC, Butterfly Tenergy 05, and a TIbhar Evolution FX-P. I then put the Butterfly Tenergy 05 on my bat and put the Yinhe Big Dipper on the other bat. And I can definitely say that Butterfly Tenergy 05 is a very good rubber, but to buy it new is expensive. Soon I am going to put a sheet of DHS Hurricane 3 Neo on my bat.
    Good review, it helped a lot of people.

    Dear Yangyang !
    The other problem with T05 is the high throw balls . In the era of the plastic balls
    you can win easier the point with straight flat hits without high throw angle .
    Because plastic balls bounce HIGHER !!!
    The new style : the kamikaze style..... sprung from japanese women player.
    T05 has a very high throw angel but not the Hurrican 3.
    This is one more reason to take up with the idea of playing T05 or H3
    and choosing the Hurrican 3 !
    Several japanese top players have already made the switch to Hurrican 3 !

      No idea how accurate or up to date this info is, Send me a SCREENSHOT about the table tennis racket while
      the pros playing a match . This is the best evidence to say which rubber is on the blade because the
      rubber logo can not be faked . Not the blade logo which CAN BE FAKED VERY EASY !
      You can snap a good photo at serving or at the one minute intervalls between the games .
      If you take a break, you must leave your racket on the table during the break and you mustn't remove it without the specific agreement of the umpire. Of course the best results comes if the match in 1080p60f format and the cameraman
      do a lot of near snapshots about the the bat .
      THE RUBBERS THEY PLAYED BY THE PROPLAYERS are contracted between the players and tt-firms .
      /Butterfly..Nittaku ...Tibhar Joola .....etc./ These are not always the rubbers they are actually played in a match.
      I can take information from tabletennis-reference.com/player or tabletennis.guide/equipment too .

    A good review. I think the Hurricane III is perfect for relative beginners and very average club players like myself who use spin and looping play to try and win points, rather than raw power. More advanced players, as you say, will want more pace and they will be able to cope with the reduced control because - well, they're better players! Personally I compensate for the lack of pace in the rubber by adding plenty of side-spin to my top-spin's, and taking the ball low to create loops. That causes opponents problems at the level I play, but it wouldn't be so effective as you go up the levels, because better players read the ball that much better and you'd probably need a bit more pace and bite to catch them out.

    FH H3neo BH Yinhe Big Dipper 38degrees. Blade Yinhe 7W Pro. Great looping blade. You have to have Chinese style FH loop/drive for this setup. I used to use Donic Bluefire M3, Xiom Vega Euro, Andro Rasanter R47. But gave up all those rubbers since the plastic ball. The way i brush, lift and do BH flicks the plasric ball doesn't bite. So I changed to Yinhe big dipper. Great tacky topsheet and the plastic ball never slips off the topsheet on extreme brush, lift and flick strokes and the sponge is lively enough and soft enough (38deg chinese scale) for my BH which would be equivalant to a hard sponge euro/jap sponge.

    I have been following your videos for over 18 months, and I like to congratulate you on the improvement in content and presentation since I started watching and learning from your videos. Many thanks indeed.
    In the above video, I note that you said that after the LA Open you have returned to Hurricanne 3 from Tenergy 05, and then you changed to Tenergy 05FX. Were you saying that you were experimenting with 05FX as the forehand rubber? I am very interested in what has been your experience with 05FX, be it in forehand or backhand? With the new larger and heavier balls, I thought that 05FX is longer an attractive rubber to advanced players like you. may be I am wrong.
    I am physically weaker than you, and I am considering to use 05FX 2.1mm on both sides on my Timo Boll alc racket, and my backup racket Mizutani zlc. I currently am using 05 1.9mm on both sides of the rackets.
    Hence I am very keen to know your experience with 05 FX.

I can't afford a Tenergy 05 and I just want to find a good alternative for that. Any Suggestion? By the way, I already found Stiga Boost TX as a good choice by considering the price and speed.
