Tsitsipas sensed it, and maintained and unreal level of groundstroke consistency, winning nearly ALL the long rallies from that point. He was fully dialled in during the 4th and 5th set. Never felt like he was going to lose
In this match, it was not all about Nadal losing his focus after the third set tie-break. It's also that Tsitsipas could take advantage of it, by being consistent and hitting big strokes. A player of Nadal's class dropping in quality during the encounter doesn't automatically mean losing the match. The opponent has to play at a very high level, too, which Tsitsipas did today.
Hey man, I didn't have the chance to watch the entire match. I agree with what you said. But I was wondering (if you watched the match), in what aspect was nadal "lacking" from the third set? Like, movement? unforced errors? weak strokes?
@@tomswiss7128 Certainly a significant amount of unforced errors. He also for the most part made it too easy for Stef when Stef was serving. I mean he even won a game with 4 aces in a row. der verschagene Schmetterball im tiebreak war ein Schlüsselball- danach spielte tsitsipas auch super- congrats from a raffa fan
Well played Tsitsipas.
Παιχταρά μου! Τι έφτιαξες εκεί πέρα;
Μπράβο σου :)
Tsitsipas looks very "Federeresque" in some of his shots especially the backhand. 😎 (He did say he's been idolising him since the age of six and watching him on TV). Looks like it's paying off. 😉
Amaizing effort from Stef both gamewise and physically.
Does anybody else think this match has a different outcome with a packed crowd though?
A packed crowd would've meant that stefano would not have lost the first two sets so easily, perhaps not even lost them at all. It would've have been packed with Greek fans.
@@jennyspiriadis3507 Interesting. I actually think that nerves would have played a bigger role with the crowd. And that stef could have gotten emotionally exhausted. He did super well to stay calm and safe his energy.
Rafa on the other hand draws on the crowd in tight matches and gains strength and believe.
I personally see rafa ahead with a rowdy crowd
gorgeous game
Bravo tsitsipas 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷👏👏👏
Beating Nadal on a 2 sets lag is singular. Good luck Tsitsipas !
Bravo stefane and good video from Eurosport 50/50 % for each player
New generation tennis player beat old champions soon , we will see , super game both played good congratulation 👏👏
We are saying this for more than 3 years. Yes, next gen are good but not "always". Where is Tim?! Can you quarantee that Tsi, Zverev, Medvedev, Tim will always be in semi, or finals in every atp tour, like masters or GS. How many semi finals Zverev have. Mentaly, Tsi and Medvedev are much much better than Zverev. So this 2 guys are next, and Tim but he is 28-29 years old. So, he must be healthy in next 2-3 years. Medvedev is 24year, Tsi 22. And like Medvedev said, he have ZERO GS. So, our next gen in last 3 years, it is 11 GS they won only 1 GS. All of them?!
Thank you!!!
A true Greek fighter our Stefano today ! We are all so proud of him. Bravo Stefano !!!!!
Fantastically played.
Great strategy from tsitsipas, a lot of pressoure at the backhand of Nadal and a lot o of power in his match.
