Only a few of you saw yesterday’s video! I have found possibly a prototype GBC - th-cam.com/video/2ILf_tNZpd4/w-d-xo.html
I like to watch and comment on your videos because you actually like my/there comments 😂😂😂 so anyways like the vid 😎😎😎
the good part is,now one of the slots are good for gyro games
I saw it!
For the dual screen GBA SP you should put the screens back to back instead of above it.
Hi
Funny you ask why that exists when you added two screens to the sp
*added one screen to the SP.
Ge didn't add 2.
@@shocknawe Yet* SSSP when TRF?

Put an Everdrive in each side, one for GB, one for GBC and the last for GBA
This man knows what he’s doing.
YOU'RE A GENIUS!
Gg
but there should be 2 everdrives one for gb/gbc and one for gba
He's speaking the language of the gods, such as Chad Linus.
I've ALWAYS WANTED to change between GBA Video SpongeBob Volume 2 and Pokemon Sapphire!!
Now you can!
You could have all three Pokemon GBA games!
What about gba video Shrek, gba video shark tale and gba video Shrek 2?
Saaammee bruhh
Wow the possiblities are ENDLESSS!!!!
I really wanted one of these back in the day. My mum told me it was pointless and a waste of money, and you know what, she was right.
back then you cursed her for being mean but now... now you know she was the wise one.
No
Funny how often that happens
Well yeah sp is a waste

Both
Take my like
oh no
😳 i hope this wont (GAME)change the way you think about me
I get what this is referencing nice one(this is referencing a cracktro on the GBA btw)
Just a warning to anyone who uses these: do not put games with saves in them. I lost my Megaman Battle Network and Pokemon save data thanks to it. For other non-saving games this thing makes it convenient and comfortable to use the SP.
My brother and I purchased these from Blockbuster back in the day, and I do vaguely remember him having save troubles with Pokemon.
Third party + Nintendo hardware = corrupted saves :(
Oh my god. If you don’t mod this thing to be able to have two games playing, one on each of the dual screens, I am going to blow up the earth.
is that a threat or a teaser for what's to come in 2020?
Please don't.
Benny it’s not a threat, it’s a promise
@@JumpyKaput well, i do love the sound of impending doom
But only one set of controls. And he has to beat two different generations of Pokemon at the same time
I want a 3rd screen for the SP
Same
What about a double Advance?🤔
Better idea: put a DS in too, 2 screens GBA, 4 screens NDS
4 screens. 2 besides each other and another set on top.
Hell make it a "GameCube SP" and make 6 screens arranged in a cube
"Switch games without removing cartridges"
Ah, you mean a flash card?
😂😂😂
Imagine playing 2 different games on your 2 screens
And then change which screen is using the buttons using with a switch
You can do it with to motherboards and interconecting the buttons. What you can do is a siamese twin.
pokemon sapphire on one, pokemon ruby on the other. same inputs from one motherboard. shiny hunting machine
@@RamenCupBMG Lmao that'll be awesome
Better... 3 gameboys and one input.
And the switches can be manipulated just on the border's gbas.
All buttons interconnected you can use the d-pad on the left and the a b of the right GBA.
If you just want to play a game you can leave the cardige empty. And if you want you can play the same game introducing the same copy.
The problem is when random events on games happen...
I thought it was a game charger at first 🤣🤣🤣

I'm sure as a young 2003 child you would had cargo shorts. That would have definitely fit in those.
Oh god I remember those days. You could look like a Kingdom Hearts character AND carry all the GBA games you were sure to not play the entire time.
Yeah, kids don't care about fashion or looking good, they just wear whatever their mum buys for them. I kinda wish cargo shorts didn't look terrible and immature, because they're really useful.
I was thinking it would fit nicely into my army trousers.
I used to walk around as a kid with that grip game changer on my gba sp in my pocket like a boss lol.
I also used to break off pieces of plastic off a dvd case and would put it on the groove in order to press the switch in the gba sp to play gbc games lol. It actually worked.
What do you mean? Doesn't the GBA SP play GBC games naively? I know the Micro didn't but I thought the SP did.
@@No_True_Scotsman I know, but as a kid, I wanted to play kirby's Tilt N Tumble which needs the game to be facing up, but the Gba sp holds games upside down, reversing the controls. It also gives it a better grip.
@@sojannedos Ah sorry yeah I get it now, hadn't finished the video yet
@@sojannedos I'm amazed someone else mentioned this, the thought of this is actually why I came to the video.
@@No_True_Scotsman the gba does play gbc and older natively, but the cartridge is a different shape and when loaded, pushes a small switch to tell it to boot to gbc mode. It won't play them in gba mode.
Honestly I would have loved this as a kid for going on long trips with the family. I had other means of storing games, but none as convenient as this. Would have been especially useful when I just got my SP, since I only had about 2-3 games.
Walty Ramone but I bet you'd rather have had 1/2 of another game than this...

I love the way you do something that relates to the thing your doing that day. In the beginning of all videos
It’s still 2000’s cool. I remember the DS with an advanced slot was so cool because I could carry 2 games at once.
I’m so glad you did a video on this! I had one of these when I was a kid and I had Pokémon Emerald, Sapphire, and LeafGreen at once. I went to the Pokémon Center in Rockefeller Plaza for a distribution (I think the Ho-oH/Lugia event) and the employee there said he never saw anything like it. Nowadays I use it for when I use the gameboy player, it’s a really great grip to use original gameboy controls on the GBP. The only problem I have is that it WILL scratch the living hell out of your gameboy after repeated use. Mine was already like that from when I was a kid. I would only use it on a scratched gameboy or an aftermarket shell.
Moral of the story: It's 2020, buy a flash cart, they'll last longer, and they're smaller, and hold more games.
I'd get a better deal, but I like the feeling of having the real cartridges. But I only have a few games anyways so bringing them around isn't really a problem.
Buy three everdrives, put on the entirety of the GB, GBC, and GBA's libraries onto each of the everdrives, put them into the game switcher in your GBA, and boom.
You move, sherlock.
@@TeamBelmont91 holy shit
I have a bunch of gba cartridges, I like to collect games, I use my psvita for emulation but some games are nice to have physically.

A) Which one... There's like 5 of them she uses frequently enough and you can bet what she wants is on the 8th one. When asked, something like "the black one"...OK, down to 3;
B) The thing is a damn warp hole. You can find anything in there, in any quantity, and;
C) Having that much stuff inside, on the many divisions of it, prepare for quite a search.
All at once?
Yesss
This isn't super on topic but I just wanna say mate, I thoroughly enjoy all the wee acts and bits of personality you add to the videos cause it really makes it your own style and channel. Keep the vids coming!
Thank you!
I didn't like this video, then he added the dual screen SP. Now I like this video.
Imagine the pokemon shiny hunting on this thing
Thatd be sick. Imagine if you could have 2 games on 2 screens, and flip a switch to change between which game you're controlling.
Rip cpu and all that but yknow. Lol
If there is a mod for that dual screen sp that let's you play diferent games on diferent screens
Do you mean the game changer? Because that doesn't give you any advantage, the games don't run simultaneously
This was one of my most important accessories to have back in the day. Even as a kid the SP was too small for my hands so having this one made it more comfortable for long hours of gameplay. The fact that I didn’t have to worry about losing those tiny cartridges along the way when I went on vacation or long car rides and just switch anytime without taking out a cartridge made it very convenient.
When you find out where Retro Future gets their games: 😳
Where?
@@Ouch.3 if you look at the back of the cartridges, it has a price and a Facebook page on it
@boppin jap 9:37
As a kid I loved mine. It rarely left my GameBoy and was almost always in my backpack. Never had to worry about losing the small games. Always had three games with me. It lasted for years before the power switch was wore too smooth on the inside to turn it off and on reliably. But that was like...5+ years of use easy. Quite durable for third party.
We're also talking about something kids would use. I lost a game while at another school during basketball games. Nearest I figure it had fell from my backpack while pulling out something else and I didn't notice it. Sooo yeah, knowing all three games were safe in the GameBoy brought peace of mind.
Sure looking at it from an adult perspective can make it seem silly, but it was quite handy when I was young.
Oh, it is literally a “game changer.” I wasn’t expecting that...
It's like a MicroSD card to full size adapter, if you break one of those open you'll find traces just making the pens bigger because they are identical.
In fact if you're unlucky you can buy a full-sized SD card that is just a microSD card glued inside a housing with a sticker on it
I just realized, could you use this for like a "kirby tilt and tumble" to play it correctly? as the cartridge would now be facing the right way?
I had that exact same thought
This is puzzling my mind:
It's called the game changer, yet doesn't seem like a game changing experience...
I think they called it the game changer because it allows you to change the game your playing.
Next Video: i made a curvy game boy SP

"i just seems really pointless to me" says the guy who gave a gameboy two screens
that SP reminds me of the handheld game used in Johnny Test to warp himself to a royalty free version of Pokémon.
I looked it up, and it's basically just a GBA SP. I don't know what makes it look more like that than any other GBA SP.
I think this is sorta neat. I remember having to switch cartridges and today the SP feels quite small in my hands. Sure, you lose some portability, but you gain some other advantages and as long as your pockets are big it shouldn't matter.
Also, it would be cool if one of the screens could mirror the other. This would be great for those gyro-controlled games made for the earlier Gameboy designs.
The only advantage I could see in having this is you'd have two lose that gigantic chunk of a device which seems harder to do than loosing 3 little cartridges.
I've seen some of those game holding cases for the SP that you just put the cart inside the case, way smaller but honestly, way less cool as well. BUT does the job on less volume.
Have to
I kinda see a reason for this. Road trips. It helps not having loose cartridges if you are nervous of loosing them
I watched just cause I was curious how it stopped you from switching games while on
Don’t think it does
I've never seen a gba sp game changer until now. Thanks for this video!
Thank you I needed to know about this
When i was a kid this was helpful on trips when i didn't want to lose a set of games for the trip.
You should put 3 screens on the Gameboy and then hook up all 3 games too the different screens
This would be a crazy pokemon setup. Reminds me of when i played both x and y on two different 3ds units at the same time. Grinding was definitely a thing.
The production value increases every video, fucking nice
Your next project now should be making a three screen gameboy with 3 separate motherboards, all wired to a single on/off switch and a single set of buttons. So, if you have 3 copies of tetris, you can play all three copies of tetris at the same time and try to avoid losing in any of them. Or, if you want to soft reset in pokemon, you can do it three games at a time.
Imagine if you added a gameboy link cable + a gameboy advance game that’s bigger than normal like that one yoshi game + an e reader
You gave the GBA a second screen for no reason, now you should try it for the switch

I have a version of this that is just the grip no game changer

I have my Game Changer plugged into my NES edition GBA as well. I got it from Electronics Boutique (now Gamestop Canada) many years ago. It's for my multi-game carts, like Namco Museum. If the power switch stops working, clean it with alcohol. Otherwise, it's good for long trips, especially if you use a GBA to USB wire and a battery bank.
This makes the 3.5mm minijack inaccessible so it's a no-go for me.
I think I remember seeing one of these in the electronics section of Zellers (a store like TARGET that was popular in the 90's but closed down in 2011, RIP Zellers) but I can't remember how much it would have cost back when it was new. It doesn't matter anyways because as you pointed it out, it defeats the Game Boy Advance SP's main selling point; portability.
Put a ds into one of these dual screen things
A doubleDS!
Wouldn't fit
He seems to be good at making things fit
I literally asked for this for Christmas 2 years ago. It's great because I only have like 3-4 gba games I play, and it makes it much easier to hold. I love it.
Mid 00's accessories in a nutshell.
It's way more convenient to have one Ridgid package then it is to have one game in your system and two flouting around your backpack
Make the Nintendo the DSi into an i for no reason
YOOOOO! Sick Tetris game watch! I have one of those myself and it's super dope.
Well that’s what I call an inconvenient way to save 5 seconds 😂
Great stuff as usual 👍
Omg I had this as a kid. I’m so glad someone is finally covering it
I love your MADCATZ attitude towards older tech gems
I had this too, it was a game changer for me for sure still would be if I still played my GBA and if I had not worn out the change switch on it lol. What I loved about it and still do, is the down side of it, it increases the side making it nicer to grip and hold the GBA, Usually had a pokemon game in 1 or 2 of them than a rpg id be playing in anther. As some one who has always loathed carring games around this was awsome to me. Still own it to this day haha, great video brought back some fond memories great video, also never tried putting that monster in my pocket always put it in my back pack.
I only discovered your channel 2 days ago and im very glad i found you xD
Love your videos Elliot keep up the great work👍
The back slot is just like the ds light.
I used it to keep tetris in there and just pip the GBA out when I wanted to play it.
Ps they made something like this for the Switch. It dosn't act as a grip though just a game changer.
I think it'd be neat if you could integrate the Game changer into a standard Gameboy shell, to maintain form-factor and retain functionality of multiple cart slots.
Haha I don't watch your videos expecting to laugh so much. You were really funny in this one.
I suspect the top "stick out" cartridge slot is for the one off cartridges that were larger or extended past the standard game boy advance cartridge size such as Drill Dozer or Wario Ware Twisted. Kinda actually a good design to think of those.
You’re the best and definitely my favorite TH-camr! Thank you
Very intriguing, cool video mate.
thank you for posting i was very bored before you posted the video
If the form factor were a bit smaller, for sure I'd consider this myself, I like to take my SP to work with me when I'm on break and I don't like having the games just hang about in my pocket with the SP since I'm always worried they can just fall out. These days though it wouldn't be worth it, especially since cartridges that let you store your GBA games on a micro SD card exist.
Nice! Elliot, you make some awesome videos!!
I used many many mods for my game boy and GBA sp but never ever saw this thing from witch planet this come from were you get this thing man . The video is cool
Actually, sir, the H on the package is capital. Gahh. =D love the vids and mods, bro, keep it up!!
I actually had this thing as a kid. I had to save up for every game I got so for awhile I only had like 2 or 3 games so this thing was perfect for me and made sure I didn't lose them. Plus I thought the bigger grip was more comfortable.
Stack 3 bottom GBA SP shells and mount this thing's slots on each one of them. Multicart GBA SP.
I can see the appeal from back in the day. If you were a kid with 2000's cargo shorts, went on a long road trip and didn't want to lose your games, you bring your 3 best and bundle them up together. It was easier to misplace 2 games just bouncing in your pocket.
As someone who had a Game Changer, (I still do, BTW) I think it’s best feature is the ergonomic grip. As for the large form factor making it hard to put the Gameboy AdvanceSP in your pocket, all kids in the early 2000s wore cargo pants/shorts. So that wasn’t a problem.
I feel like this would have been something that was good for like, when you had kids on a road trip and didn't want to pack them a ton of games. It's just all connected to one thing. A younger kid when these were coming out wouldn't really have game carts most likely.

Retro Future in Quarantine: "Hold my screwdriver."
6:40 What's interesting is that seems to just be a crash noise in general and I noticed a couple things based on the many, *many* times I've crashed GBA games while corrupting them with the RTC.
1: Each game has a unique crash screech. Worms World Party GBA has a very particular "Squeak-squeak-BZZZZZZZZZZ" noise.
2: It plays in both channels but they slowly start to screech out of sync with each other.
Always liked your videos always a nice guide for retro console
You make awesome content, love ya!
You are slowly becoming the DankPods of Gameboys
that screwdriver you used that was chrome and electronic was effing awesome
I knew this existed & wasn’t losing my mind!

I remember seeing this ages ago, when I first started “collecting” (I was like 12 and the SP was the only retro thing I owned) and I absolutely wanted one of these for on cartrips
Love your content keep up the good work
I never knew I needed something so bad thanks Elliot!
I bought a game changer this month for my sp, i absolutely love it. I have big hands so the extra space is really welcome. Plus carrying 2 extra games is awesome. They don't rattle around, smack against the system or each other. And its not as flimsy as he makes it seem. I genuinely love mine, and don't play my sp without it
Aww man I remember having this! Loved it so much, having sonic advance 3, pokemon, and megaman zero 2 in my Sp at all times!
I have one of those. It was the best for road trips, and I like the added grip it gives
This makes sense for someone with mobility and coordination issues that might struggle swapping games on their own which also explains the back game sticking out a bit so they could have their fav games in the side slots then use the back one for games you might want to swap out every so often slightly easier. Not a great product for an average user but it would be a decent product for anyone with a kid with disabilities
I totally had one of these growing up. Looking back at it now is pretty funny.
My brother and I used this grip. The big draw for us was the formfactor. The sp was just too small for our hands, especially if you were going to use those dinky shoulder buttons.
