My experiences with 9.3 PL08 that differ from your 9.2 video: 1) External browser access service port must match the internal service; can be whatever free port you want but has to match 2) /dispatcher must be appended to the external address registration of the browser access service 3) The internal license manager service is on port 40000 but the external SLD only worked for me on 30010 it is entirely possible that these findings are unique to my environment or tied to other configuration settings I had made (or I just didn't do service restarts at the right times) but I don't know enough about Apache or the SBO services to really be confident one way or the other. Trying to figure out how to get the live collaboration service published now - have the Job service installed but can't see how to make client search for this on an external domain name, no additional options under external registration page other than SLD and Browser Access. SAP: you did an awesome job with this client - do it some justice with the documentation!
I need some help, after mapping the external ip address on the Browser Access Service, the asml sso keeps routing back to the local IP address for authentication, which makes URL connection drops. The ironically, is if i use vpn and after passing the SLD/SSO stage , and get into the external link without problem, it did not affect my session even after my vpn disconnection.
I am going to be honest it has been a long time since I did this. I know when you login it passes you from one port to the controlcenter port, so you need both mapped to external not just the main BAG port. So figure out your controlcenter (SLD) port and map that to the same machine. You'll see it briefly in the login process when it flips from BAG to SLD. Other than that I would be just watching my videos since it has been years since I installed this application.

Great Video, Thanks! I have a question, somehow the on print preview, the font is slightly different than the one with the native applications. Seems like the browser ones is converting the report to pdf before previewing and the native one is Crystal Report. We are still using dot matrix printer and the print out from browser is barely readable . Any inputs would be greatly appreciated!

If you aren't working on V10, did you install it 32/64 bit? I don't remember which one the browser access uses since I'm mostly working on V10 now. The other thing is try lightweight deployment vs. non-lightweight deployment. I don't have any more details about your environment so you'll have to play around to fix the issue.
Kinda sucks that we can't just set the port to 443. So we port forward on the public side but short of trying to get users to use port numbers (a sure recipe for a new most frequent support call candidate) we have to hairpin through the firewall from the internal side too.

Yes, the dispatcher part requires a hairpin through the reverse proxy anyway so it can be added without the end user worrying about it. A redirected subdomain sounds awesome but Apache is a blackbox to me - I'm an MS guy still sore that they took TMG away from me. I guess my best bet is to youtube my way to some Apache familiarity then come back to this. Don't want to be too down about the web app, they've done a surprisingly good job of delivering a browser client.

Is it possible to have more than one domain access the same B1 Landscape, a a second external url (domain) For example: domain1.com (external url) ---> SAPB1 domain2.com (external) ---> SAPB1 The reason is, we have 2 company databases on the same landscape. I have tried to add another domain, but it doesnt seem to want to allow it. Im wondering if I can modify the underlying configuration file (if there is one) to try out. It will yup. You will need to follow the process to install a public facing SSL certificate OR your users will just have to confirm the browser warning. You need a static IP and you need to have your ports forwarded. Should be explained in the videos. Thanks!

Hi Joshua, I think the SSL is by the domain, so if you have a wildcard SSL it should work the same as long as you use the same domain. Having said that I'm not the best with infrastructure stuff so you'll have to confirm with a real server admin.

Alright then. I tried with the servername:8100/dispatcher and it works fine but it doesn´t work with the myexternalip:443/dispatcher/. I thought maybe it was because of I didn´t set the port forward already but it is supposed to work fine as long as I am on the same network, isn´t it?

I´m going to test it but when you mention external IP to the internal IP...you mean the public IP to the server internal IP, right? like for example "188.x.x.x (external) to 192.x.x.x (internal). Or am I Wrong? One more thing Michael. Once done the port forward, in the Browser Access Service configuration (7:55 of this video)...the direction could be externalip:443/ , right?
Yup, I got my external (static) ip on port 443 to my internal server ip on 8100. I don't have the 30010-->30010, so I'm going to do it right now hoping that finally works. But about the 'Browser Access Service Configuration' on the 7:55 part , the external URL could be (external IP)187.x.x.x:443/ or not?

Michael Taylor it is on my laptop and when pressing on the sld link openes up the log in and I am able to log in but the system starts to open up and then stops without showing any menues . shows only the web browser client background.

Hello! I don't know if browser access works with HANA. It may be SQL only. For HANA you have the web client, I do not know how this installs though. I've been staying away from these and trying to stick with more traditional terminal servers.
Just something I figured out. If you're going to expose this url to the outside world, you can turn on basic authentication for the tomcat server. You can also somewhat protect with IP Filtering on the firewall... If you want to use externally yes you have to have a static IP and a domain mapped to it that match your SSL (if you don't want the error).

Not as far as I could do. It seemed to only be optimized for tablets. For phone sized screens it's basically unusable.

1. I tried turning off the windows firewall both pubclic & private, but the issue is persistent.Even afterrestding the service.
I'm not running any other antivirus. The web access worked for some time then later retuned the error.
2. I realized I don't have the upgrade.exe files. Could you assist?
3. I recently installed windows updates, could that be the cause?

Hola soy de Chile, realice la la conexión parecido a como lo hiciste tu pero con algunas diferencias, lo que si me sirvió mucho para entender la configuracion.
Otro tema no se si tu sabes como hacer que el certificado para celulares funcione para los Iphone, hice el certificado con la IP publica que tenemos aca pero igual indica que no esta emitida por un ente certificador, para los Android funciona muy bien. What do you do when the internal link doesn't work?
Michael Taylor it is on my laptop and when pressing on the sld link openes up the log in and I am able to log in but the system starts to open up and then stops without showing any menues . shows only the web browser client background.

It shows that the https is not scure
I tried editing the url in the sld but it says http request fails
the 8100 port is open

Hello! I don't know if browser access works with HANA. It may be SQL only. For HANA you have the web client, I do not know how this installs though. I've been staying away from these and trying to stick with more traditional terminal servers.
Just something I figured out. If you're going to expose this url to the outside world, you can turn on basic authentication for the tomcat server. You can also somewhat protect with IP Filtering on the firewall...
