Exactly what I've been needing thank you!
George is the goat, thanks for the awesome videos man. Keep it up
George did to the mixing community what CLA Woo did to the beat making community 🔥🔥🔥 keep da shit up
Great reserch bro. Big love ❤
Wow he does the same mixing technique that I do minus the desk and the tannoy mains. Great video! It just goes to show you that there's more than one way to get to Brooklyn
Thorough. Dig it. Fun. Thanks for doing this.
Thank you for this video
The whole point of checking a mix in your car is to see how it translates from the studio. If you custom design the car's audio system to sound like the studio, you've missed the entire point.
Yep I was thinking the same thing. The car system is different and that's exactly what let's you hear the screw ups (or the good stuff) you missed in the studio. And your car is a very good reference for your ear b/c you spend so much time in it jamming!
more like this pls.. really enjoyed it.
Much love from Miami, your videos are straight up gems brother. You know your stuff
The filter on Mikes face in the thumbnail is crazy lol
Mad dope
Inward Connections Vac Rac 4000. Took me years to figure out what that piece of gear was. I seem to remember an interview where he said he uses the eq with vocals on the way in but dont quote me on that part.
thanks you
Amazing!!! Thx pls more!
George T rocks
Thanks for the video
Mike Dean is the 🐐🐐🐐
those are first generation inward comps and eqs, the comps are "fairchilds on their best setting" as CLA put it who also bought em when they came out in the 90s
Such a Great vid Buddy keep it up :) would love to know where he gets his Tannoys because I can’t find none … maybe because he had them all 😅
Probably has an auto buy script that just orders them when a pair comes for sale. Alot of audio pros do this
@@georgetmusic seems reasonable thx buddy but for real did. you see a pai of these somewhere
i think his atmos room is 7.3.4 imo! those are amphion basetwo25s sitting on L & R, im a noobie at atmos but if anyone knows let me know !!
Fuck yeah.
What amp for his NS10s please?
It's not Neve 5060, it's Rupert Neve Designs. And NS10s don't sound crappy, they are really hipped in the mid range.
Yeah, NS10s aim right at the point of doing the room treatment and all, they are very flat and are crucial magnifing glass for mistakes and how things really sound. I suppose the tannoys and dolby room are very flat too
How much gear... Crazy... mixing trap on ns10's is painfull lol. I also want that neve summing mixer no need for huge analog desk
@@prcption8636 i know that or neve shelford channel / preamp but if you want stereo signal you need two and its also around 10k
@@shmokey59 not allways key are monitors you learn over years and know excactly how they sound in your room...
Bro did mike dirty with dat thumbnail
thumbnail uncanny valley vibez bih 🤣
Wow same time big score jump
That thumbnail tho..😂😭😭
that thumbnail is so disrespectful LMAO HAHAHAA
Its an inward connections vaccum tube pre amps
Genuinely thought this was the ex football referee Mike Dean. Thought I'd stumbled on a Steve Davis moment
The ad under the video for weed is rigged... careful
You missed out his fav bong..... size of bowls... rizzlas.... fav weed strain..
Steven Slate modeled his room, and car for his Slate VSX line. Thanks for the vid.
I actually reached out to slate to see if they would be interested in doing an add for this video. They never responded tho
lol ns10s are just showing a flatter signal and mostly mid range everyone using it for monitoring not because they sound bad
Will someone explain to me mike NLS buss summing 7:08 "DRUM PARA 1"
@@svengali5862 look video "Jaycen Joshua | Mixing Engineer | Drum Bus Punch Trick 2022" 1:26min shows this buss
@@steky005 It's a plugin by waves , way overrated and overpriced , it emulates a mixing console sort of, that's it
1:08 ns10’s aren’t known for sounding crappy, just flat without colour. There’s a difference
good tip use sh*tty equipment for beautiful results, For all my phone speaker homies at HS
90% of his stuff is like sourcing different salt from around the world for your dish. legitimately noone will be able to tell the difference except for a handful of people.
SOOO ARE WE GONNA PASS THE FACT HTIS MF HAD PRO TOOLS ON HIS PHONE
It’s not neve. It’s rupert neve different companies.
Anyone else expect to see premier league referee Mike dean with a sick home studio?
whats the point of checking the mix in your car, when it has the same sound system as your studio? 💀
There is literally no point into listening to mixes in cars as 99 % of cars have terrible surround sound systems and you're also listening to things out of phase if you're not sitting in the middle of the car. Don't do this as your car will not give you a clear image of what your mix sounds like and you'll most likely make terrible decisions to "fix it" once you're back at the studio
Any moog players hmu!,
I may be the only one who thinks he’s not that great of a mixer. He’s a really good producer tho. Irko did a great job on Donda and it was refreshing to hear Ye’s music so open!
Literally mixed ‘watch the throne’ with one ear.. everything he’s touched sounds great to me, which mixes do you not like ?
@@danshanmusic I’m not saying it didn’t sound good but it wasnt great to me. Listen to Can’t tell me nothing vs Off da Grid on Donda. Shit is almost night and day. I dont expect mix engineers to all sound the same, but for my preference it was refreshing to hear how big and open Donda sounded. Granted it could be the sounds Ye chooses or if he’s using the ASR vs something else, but shit just sounded so dope on Donda. It looks like Ye eventually asked Mike to go in and make mix changes cause I see his name in the mix credits now.. But the first version of Donda, that mix was great bro. It sounded like the sound Ye was looking for for years (remember Stronger). But again, Mike is a beast on everything else, just think his mixes are a bit too 2 Dimensional. Just my opinion. Irko did his thing on Donda
@@danshanmusic Lol watch the throne mixes were horrible ! Only the vocals sounded good because of 20k dollars mics
why that fucking thumbnail
Madonna my a$$…
Mike Dean's mixes aren't really that great , they're always very harsh and brickwall smashed. Rodeo was very hard to listen to because of the terrible mixing Mike Dean has done so yeah I don't really care about his "secrets". Yes I came just to comment this
@@estebanb7166 I think his imagination of being a mixing and mastering engineer comes from his work on Yeezus , album that was smashed brickwalled BUT by engineers who know what they're doing. Mike's imitation is laughable at best but we can blame Rick Rubin for that because he's the one that started the "louder is better" movement
Who says that brickwalling is always bad? I still hear colourful mixes, with deep subs, great transients (despite this limiting), mono compatibility, and GREAT use of the stereo field, great mid/side going on. Idk why you came to hate on a GOAT of mixing and mastering bro you literally know nothing
@@DerpySwag It’s not always a bad thing, but it shouldn’t be the only thing either. Try to control your little feelings. Sheesh
That thumbnail with Mike smiling had me laughing out loud🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He made Mike dean look like dracula lmao
they did his ass dirty 💀💀💀
