    I think that right now there are NO better kits in 72 scale than Arma Hobby, IBG and Tamiya. And amazingly Arma, IBG and Techmod are polish. That just makes me proud!

    There has been a significant step up in quality of 1/72 kits recently, it's not just Eduard and Tamiya anymore, Arma Hobby kits are amazing, but even Special hobby, IBG and Airfix have some absolute gems like the special hobby BF-109 , Meteor, and their Mirage F1 range, the general standard all round is increasing as far as I can tell and long may it continue.

      IBG's Doras are state of the art kits. Some say they are a bit over engineered, especially when it comes to landing gear wells, but everyone has to admit they leave little to no space for improvement for your casual ootb build
      Eduard has announced their own Bf-109F to K range, can't wait for their premiere. No more riveting, no more drilling. Yaay!

    I have a couple of the recent Arma Expert series 1/72 scale kits. They are absolutely gorgeous. Love the included canopy masks too. They’ve really raised the bar.

    Great job to all involved in producing these beauties !
    The subject and decal options are great, and I particularly love the seat belt decals (which can be well manipulated to look more realistic than metal), and finally the canopy masks ! Awesome !
    Now wishing we can get some in South Africa ?!!
    Look forward to another fantastic build up D, perhaps of the P-51 or Hurricane !?

    I think a good 1/72 model is a lovely thing - and doesn't take up so much space when finished. Arma Hobby seem to be setting the standard here.

    Arma continues to up their game! The detail in these 1/72 kits rivals that found in some 1/48 kits! I'm waiting for them to come out with some 1/48 kits - look out, they are going to be superb 👌 Thanks for the review!

      I can agree with Eduard, but SH is a different story. Their Emil family is absolutely beautiful, other kits are not as much liked, vide Ki-54. Emil sprues were designed or produced in cooperation with Eduard, thus you could buy both companies' editions almost simultaneously and you can see the difference compared to, for example, late Griffon powered Spitfires/Seafires or P-40 family. These are great kits, but you can clearly see they have short run style sprues

    Not meaning to be the party pooper here, however, I’m currently on with the Arma hobby P51-B (70041). Is the kit as good as the hype suggests?… no. Is it a nice kit?… yes. The good and the bad…
    positives: the panel lines and details are nicely presented in this small scale, paint masks included, relatively small part count, lovely box art, nicely moulded, clear, and thin transparencies, fantastic decal options, informative colour instructions.
    Negatives: the plastic is a strage and very soft plastic, the locator pins are very small and not very precise, the sprue gates (area that connect the parts to the sprue, are very large and in some cases difficult to remove and risk of component damage is high. The box is like a Revell box - very weak and non-protective. Decals appear to be great but some decals included are incredibly small may be a bit pointless, finally, these kits are very expensive, this kit (70041) averages £25… for a single seat, single engine WW2 fighter, and they are quite small - in contrast, I purchased the lovely Eduard 1/72 F6F-5N Hellcat profi-pack, including the kit, masks, colour photo-etch parts, and Eduard quality from a regular retailer for just under £13… bargain.
    Would I buy another Arma hobby kit?…. Probably not, unless they presented a subject I just could not refuse, however, there are better alternatives such as Tamiya, Eduard, Airfix which I find are better to work with, and detailed especially with the type of plastic used and the preciseness of construction.
    Will it build into a lovely model?… yes, however, great care, great patience and a bit of experience will be required.
    5 out of 10 for me, just my opinion.

    These are nice kits but they do have one big flaw: big sprue attachment points which make cutting and cleaning parte extra difficult, also because they are close to cruciale details. I got Arma's 1/72 Wildcats Expert double set and I am not 100% satisfied with the first build, let's see how the second come out

  • @garyyoung4074
    @garyyoung4074 ปีที่แล้ว

    TOO TWIDDLY.....1/48 is best scale for most aircraft subjects. Cessna 172 or Spad in 1/48 is pretty twiddly but you can go up to a B-1, C-130 or B-29 and they are not that big. How about a C-119 or B-47 in 1/48????

    • @garyyoung4074
      @garyyoung4074 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@martijn9568 not a problem for me anyway. I layer them in boxes when not displaying them. The 1/48 B-29 I heavily scratch built/ modifed into a KB-50J. It's hanging from the cathedral ceiling w/3 F-105's approaching the drogues. Last time it was the B-58 and SR-71 together before that the "century series" together.

    • @garyyoung4074
      @garyyoung4074 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shoot....hit wrong button....Sometimes I have displayed many of them at airshows or even retirement homes. They are big enough to be appreciated at 6 to 10 feet and yet have enought detail you don't need tweezers and a jewlers eye piece to build. What does "S up" mean??? Shut up? Geeze... pretty sensitive eh? I only build plastic models in 1/48. People often ask is a "something or other" really that big compared to a "something else". If the scales are different it's tough for them to understand sometimes. It's my opinion. I wish there could be a better way w new technoloyy to simulate a spinning prop. As a pilot, I like to display aircraft " in thier element".... flying. My plane sure handles better in the air than driving it around on the ground, or sitting on the ramp w/ all the doors and hatches open!!! Anyway, to each his own I guess.

    Yeah thanks, all good except my personal take is exactly that. It's 172nd scale. Let's all jump onboard because CERTAIN people on their platforms are spruiking on behalf of sponsored content or "someone" just happened to forward or donate these kits, to be featured here, like this. Anyway, great kit's, shame about the scale. Not interested. Following the beat of my inner drum and definitely not justifying a promotional unboxing. How mindlessly boring and unoriginal. Bye, bye from Tuckombil via Alstonville and East Ballina 800km north of Sydney. MATE.

    • @ScaleModelAircraft
      @ScaleModelAircraft  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      "Mate", why don't you simply just ask the Arma Hobby directly? Ask them do they have any type of contact with this channel? Ask them, do they know about this video or as you wrote special intentions from this "promotion " before you claim something like that. I paid 599czk - 24e for each kit. Please read info about the video before claiming something etc. All the best!
