.1 oz per gallon was for citric acid if you have a high PH water or if you have hard water. 1 oz of feature is used per 1000sq ft thanks for your question
@@nelsonmedina2016 you probably could. Although I would recommend just putting it down. I have not tried that with this product, but at rate you plan on laying it down at I believe your fine
Rookie question but can I use this product immediately after aerating my lawn and seeding a few bare spots? Or should I wait a while until the seed matures? The rest of the lawn is fine.
I guess it really wouldn't hurt anything, but normally you would use it to give your lawn a boost in color, or if your soil test came back that you were low on Iron. There could be many reasons your low on iron and I have videos on that, see my "Lets Get Green - Step By Step Lawn Care series. Putting iron out as you mentioned will not hurt anything, but be sure your lawn is actively growing. The best time to apply iron to your lawn is in the spring, when temperatures are in the 60s to 70s F. Avoid spraying or applying iron during hot weather. Thanks for the question
Great question: No need to water after: we are wanting the Iron to sit on the foliage, so it can be absorbed by the plant. Best to allow it to sit for 3 to 6 hours before any rainfall or irrigation.
Hey Jimmy congrats on your purchase. Be sure to Check your soil PH if your PH is high use the citric acid to neutralize it and or if you have hard water. Good luck brother
What are your thoughts on spraying this in the heat? We are roasting here in Tx at the moment and while my lawn is still green it is showing some signs of stress.
You probably would not want to really put anything like iron down while it is stressed Not sure your grass type but you would also only want to apply the iron when your grass is Actively growing. Here’s what you could do for now if your lawn still has some green but it’s struggling you can put down 3oz per 1000 of sea kelp and humic acid. I would do that ever few weeks. Water the day before you apply and then water it in with about 1/2 inch of water, this will allow the product to absorb into the soil. You could also use a real low nitrogen liquid fertilizer, again apply in early morning or in the evening. To to keep foot traffic on a heat stressed lawn to a minimum. If your lawn is totally brown, it’s probably in dormancy, your still going to want to get about 1/2 inch of water down every 3 to 5 days and maybe a misting in the evening to cool things down a bit this will help keep the roots alive in these hot temperatures. You need to water a dormant lawn so that the roots do not die. Hope I answered your question?
@@MyGreenLawn2019 thanks so much for the reply! So I have a Bermuda lawn and it is green and growing. There are certain spots tho that I imagine are suffering from heat stress. They are a little thinner, lighter shade of green and don't grow at the same rate as the rest of the lawn. I have ruled out grubs and other pests and I attribute that to the water restrictions we're on. I did apply some humic acid this past weekend but have been afraid of adding anything with a high N. I have a bag of this FEature and another 7-0-1 liquid fertilizer with a bit of iron in it. Do you think this would put too much stress on the lawn? I'll make sure to add that sea kelp on my next spray day. Thanks again for the reply.
@@marcoallende3683 I think that would be ok. Higher amounts of potash would also help the lawn endure stressing. Keep up your watering if you can. Even though you have restrictions, many areas allow for hand watering so you could give those thin spots a little bit of hand watering. You can also try Hydretain, I reviewed the product last year just type Hydretain in the search on my channel I have a few videos on that and another one coming tomorrow morning. That product will allow you to water less it’s an awesome product check it out Thanks for your questions and comments
Hey brother, good to see you. Yes I was turned onto the product from a friend who actual gave me this bag of Feature. Thanks for stopping by I appreciate you!
I’m getting ready for next season. I need to lower PH. Wondering about ratio for citric acid. 1 pound per 1000 square feet. How does that translate to a four gallon sprayer? A pound per gallon??? I don’t know. Label doesn’t say.
Well these are loaded questions. There’s a little more to it then that. I’m only using Citric acid as a water conditioner since I have hard water. You would just mix your iron with distilled water then you wouldn’t need the Citric acid at all. You can also use a 50/50 distilled water and citric mix to use on your lawn to to help lower the PH. Lowering PH takes time . I usually use elemental sulphur to lower my PH. I do have a video on my channel that covers PH balance. I hope that answers your questions. Let me know if it didn’t. Thanks for the comments/ questions
@@Methodical2 it does not take much to lower the PH in the water your spraying with, but it does take a while to lower the PH in your soil. I was talking about both in the video. Thanks for commenting
Yes, overfertilizing your yard can "burn"(turn it yellow) the grass. I promise the directions on the bag are the max you should use(if you could use more, they could sell more LOL)
Yes, you only want to put down the recommended amount of anything. Always read the labels on the products your putting down. Most University's recommend no more then 1 pound per 1000sq feet per application
How can i get in contact with Andy for my bag😁 jk sounds like a good guy also nice vid brother how did you like that iron I'm wanting to try it out next month how quick did u see results also is it better to spray in afternoon or early mornings also no watering at all after applying water supplements correct only granular supplements?
@@chatobalencian1504 haha that was hilarious! I was having issue with my lawn that year and that’s one of the reasons Andy gave me that bag. It doesn't take much citric acid to lower PH. Start small and just do a test on a gallon of your water to see what it takes to get your PH to 7.
