- After proving a set of non singular matrices under the operation of matrix multiplication is a non abelian group in previous lecture we will now have some more discussion over it. In this lecture after a brief overview we will come to know that this non abelian group is called general linear group and how to denote this group. After that we will also learn about special linear group which is a particular case of general linear group. In special linear group we will consider only those matrices which have determinant equal to 1.

No this is not true as we have dihedral group which is not abelian
