The whole vibe of the game is full of old tv artifacts and intentional "poor-ish" muffled tv sounds. Even in combat idk if only in VR sim battles, but when I was fighting the mechas for some mats, i saw wfx send a TV noise wave through the screen, in addition to fake v-desync, mimicking a virtual space. the 3 minibosses are similar, their story versions are easy but the powered up optional fights are a lot harder. same thing happened with the tower twins. classic DMC design, lower difficulties lull you into a false sense of security. Pompey was designed to be royal guard spammed for a reason.
