Are they really underrated these days ? Maybe on the global side but they could be really popular in China with so many Chinese gacha games hiring them for music these days like Aether Gazer, Girls Frontline, Neural Cloud, Thrud etc. Even on global side they are gaining popularity slowly

This is basically the Moon Halo of PGR and I couldn't be even more happier
This is a crystalization of the story's history since the start of the game till now. All the factions represented by one defining leitmotif, with independence represented by Revelation.
It is also a song representing Selena's entire character arc. Each section representing where she started to where she is now. this is Ayla's ode to her friend.

You have no idea how much I genuinely love leitmotifs, it’s why I love FFXIVs soundtrack so much so hearing this and recognising all the old soundtracks you’ve made, gave me a sense of nostalgia and happiness, even though global isn’t really that far into PGR yet in terms of update.
on 2:09 Vanguard just dropped the beat soo hard gravity got disturbed and Isaac Newton twitched on his grave
Absolutely stunning. Love the leitmotifs used in previous tracks. PGR has become one of my favorites due to its strong musical composition. It's come a long way and I'm glad it's still getting the love it did from day 1. Thank you to everyone who played their part.

After listening to it all day I slowly came to a realization.
This is a song in three acts. First is Narwhal and Hikari, themes presenting humanity. After that it's the harshness of Edenis representing the Ascendants, and finally the almost soaring free Revelation of our third independent faction, those either part of the Sagemachina or those at least touched by it's enlightenment leaving to individuals like Haicma.
Now, what do all these songs have in common in this track? Simple.
It's Selena. Her theme is mixed into every section, functioning as the second halve of each point representing her character arcs.
You can hear her menu theme everywhere, and alongside it... Is Revelation. Independent forces in a world where two factions are fighting for rule of the Earth. I am thinking that this could possibly be the next step, as her own person independent of either faction. Much like those part of the Sagemachina even if she isn't necessarily joining them. She is off on her own journey now.
I guess selena is the truly key character through the story. aside from her relationship with the commandant, I wonder what else makes her significant?
@@hana827 it's more so that, since this is a story about the Archaeological team and specifically Ayla's. And knowing there art art pieces commemorating recent events in the story, this song is akin to a crystalization of our efforts but with Selena in mind as well. Because for Ayla, it's all she ever wants to meet again.
I think Edenis & Exorcism represent the Punishing rather than the Ascendants. They both have unique distortion sound followed by uncanny vocal, which imo represents the mysterious force of Punishing
Also notice how Edenis' distortion is more structured while Exorcism is chaotic. Edenis represents Punishing undergoing the tranformation while Exorcism is the result of it
nah u reading too much into it. selena isn't the lead role this plot. this track is a tribute to our journey, and from a bystander's pov such as cervantes and ayla which herself remarked that she has never participated in them before but heard of ur exploits as a commandant.
not everything is abt selena, her role is so small here. and that's not her menu theme, it is the main PGR theme from the very firs title screen

Oh wow this got me right off the bat with the slow build up and then the piano and synth harmony is perfect. The heavy breakdown beat that feels like an opposing force to mix into the melody and finally the conclusion was heavenly with vocals. This piece is not only telling a story but recapping important events as interpreted from Ayla's contemporary artistic vision and I think that is amazing.

this song is art, its neither blackj or white, its gray, and its punishing, its Punishing Gray Raven
I just realized that the music of its beats were so familiar that it is like all were mashed to a whole masterpiece. Like all ingredients were baked to a whole pie with a sweetness of memorial thoughts through time to time since the start of the early release.
Then now to the best part of present day giving best to fulfill the remix of the most popular musics "Revelation, HIKARI, Edenis, and NARWHAL" to a one whole music as in called an "Infinite Gallery" like a "Droste Effect" but a music version that were converted to a memorable history that given out a sense of joy to everyone.
I cannot think of anything else but to love it . . . I really do ❤

As you can see it combines all works from both composer like last resort, narwhal, hikari, edenis, and finally revelation vocal. A fitting piece for anniversary patch. I hope they put this ost for boss fight in the 2nd part of anniversary patch
