Maybe they broke her down so much that she became a “vegetable” but maybe the “vegetable” state of her being is just a method of messed up she is now after what they did to her. She’s alive but…. I can't understand why this movie is so underrated. It has got all the ingredients to make it a masterpiece: the music, the special effects, the outfits, the girls, and.....the plot !

Interesting mashup, but I vastly prefer both this scene (the best of the four vignettes IMO) and this song (from the absolutely wonderful opening) as they originally appeared in the movie.
Have to say this as a guy watching Japanese animation since 1990, Snyder was doing a great job fusioning Japanese style with the Hollywood visual effects together well. However, none of my fellows love this movie.
