This looks Soo efficient....man that little flame and all that spinning... Why people won't do more research on those engines... Is it hard to stop when it's spinning?
Vacuum engines are very amusing thermo-mechanical devices. I have made a half dozen of them in various sizes just for the experience of seeing and hearing them run. But they do not produce much power. Their mean effective pressure is bounded above by one atmosphere, and is very much less than that in practice. In contrast, the mean effective pressure for common normally aspirated spark ignition auto engines is somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 or 12 atmospheres. Regardless, the operation of these vacuum engines is uniquely delightful !
@@hotimchenko I did not publish drawings for this engine, 'Whiffin", but it is similar to the slightly larger "Poppin". I described Poppin with full plans in Live Steam Magazine some years ago. Many Poppins have been made from these plans, examples of which can be seen in TH-cam videos.

perfect idea incase of a power failure. You could get light and run a small generator that could charge your phone.
