If both the original and the copy have exactly the same memories, they will each remember getting copied and everything before, thus being able to tell if they are the original or copy. But Karl had to go, “‘What would do me head in… How would I know which one I was?”
Karl is completely right in asking 'how would I know which one I was?'. If the clone had the exact same memory, then neither would know which one was the original. Just watch the film Moon.

There’s actually a comedy/drama series called “Living with Yourself” with Paul Rudd, where a copy of his self comes to life and they end up getting confused about who the real Paul Rudd is. So yea based off that show, karl is 100% right in what he said

Love these. My only gripe is in the animated show they just scratch out so much from the original audio, a lot of it makes these episodes that is taken out that much funnier. Like in this episode, when Karl says he didn’t put his stamp of approval on the art, Ricky loses his shit and is dying of laughter, but it’s cut out in the animated episodes for some reason. Keep them coming fellas, great reaction.

Yeah. The full format is precious... I understand they cut it to keep things smooth but yeah having listened to the podcasts 24858382837 times - its in your dna by now and not hearing the followups is jarring.
Not complaining, just informing. This is my favorite reaction channel, and I’m always rewatching, but as the couple people above also said, when you’ve heard it so much over the years, it’s in your dna. If I was complaining, I wouldn’t even bother commenting…
The most egregious example is when Steve is reading Karl’s diary and gets so tickled he can’t read, “Did I tell you about the immune system?” until he tries like three times. They leave in Ricky’s guffaw, but cut out Steve absolutely dying laughing.

Karl's worry about his doppelgänger "going mental and causing all sorts of trouble" was too real for me when I was a teenager. There was a kid in my town who apparently looked, sounded and dressed so much like me that I used to have friends angry at me for "blanking them" and "pretending to not know them" when they bumped into me in places I definitely had not been. Kids taken to school by car would see me "playing truant", in casual clothes, riding my bike in the opposite direction, on the other side of our small town, and look at me as if I were a ghost as I walked into the classroom in uniform, just a minute or two after them. I even had the police knock on my door a couple of times for minor crimes that presumably my doppelgänger had been seen doing. Luckily I always had a solid alibi. I used to be desperate to meet this mysterious person, and given the small size of our town, just 5,000 people and a single square mile, it's a miracle I never did, but in many ways now I'm kinda glad I never came face to face with them. Scary shit huh? Keep up the good work guys, I love your channel. Chill reactions, and great content.

I was thinking along similar lines. Just ask a factual question you already know the answer to. I suppose you could add a qualifier that the questions have to be about the doors/angels, but without it there are millions of answers. The funny part, to me, is that the other answers don't occur to the person trying to respond to the riddle seemingly due to it BEING a riddle, which one usually expects to have a clever answer that incorporates all of the separate parts of the question. As such, the idea that one could just ask the angels to verify a fact that you already know doesn't occur to them as it doesn't fit within the parameters of the typical riddle format, but would more than likely be thought of by a lot more people if they were actually in the situation presented. So it's a riddle that only really works as a riddle because it's a riddle.

@deagleninja lol no problem. it's one of those things where it only works if you set it up correctly. big fan of riddles and logic puzzles, and unfortunately you kind of have to be a grammar Nazi and a stickler for the rules if you want them to make sense and have a logical solution. too many people have heard most of the classic riddles, such as this, and they get hung up on knowing what the answer is instead of how to actually arrive at it. bar bets are kind of the same way. if you just want to look clever by knowing what the answer is, you'll look like an idiot trying to set it up correctly. As mentioned - Ricky sets up the classic heaven and hell doors riddle a bit wrong when he first sets it up. The one guarding hell doesn't always tell a lie - the liar could be guarding either door. And the truth teller could be guarding either door. You do not know which one guards each door (or gate) -- the object is to find out in 1 question to either guard - to figure out the way to heaven? You can ask either guard the 1 question. One of them always speaks the truth and the other always lies but you don’t know which one guards which door. Note: If you break down and look it up - many online answers are tough to understand - some explain it well.

That will not work. If you happen to ask the lier, What door is the good one, he will point you to his own door. If you then ask the truth teller the same he will point you to his door. Result, its a 50-50 chance based on the answers any wich way you go !

I know it's said that everyone has a double somewhere, but it's not always what you'd expect. My husband worked in the oil patch. Years ago, when returning to camp, a couple of rig boys came running to talk to him and excitedly told of the stripper they had seen in the local city (Canada, gentlemen clubs everywhere) that looked just like me! Easiest way to beat the door question is to ask them something that has a concrete answer. Something like 1+1, the truth is 1 so if they say anything but 1 the they’re lying. So they would be guarding the hell door

Ricky has it wrong: in the original riddle, you don’t know if the truthful one is guarding heaven and the liar is guarding hell - it could be either, so asking “what’s 1+1?” wouldn’t help.

“Is the other one lying?” is actually really close to solving that logic puzzle, at least you understood it was something about the relationship between the two you’d have to ask something about the other dude. Well done Frank. I’ve posed this conundrum to hundreds of teenagers and almost never get a guess that close.
I believe you can also just ask a verifiable truth. Like "what is the name on my birth certificate?", or "what did I eat for breakfast today?" You could add a qualifier, like maybe the question has to be about the doors, or maybe you don't know which angel is guarding which door, but as asked, the riddle basically has as many answers as one has verifiable facts at their disposal.

@deagleninja lol no problem. it's one of those things where it only works if you set it up correctly. big fan of riddles and logic puzzles, and unfortunately you kind of have to be a grammar Nazi and a stickler for the rules if you want them to make sense and have a logical solution. too many people have heard most of the classic riddles, such as this, and they get hung up on knowing what the answer is instead of how to actually arrive at it. bar bets are kind of the same way. if you just want to look clever by knowing what the answer is, you'll look like an idiot trying to set it up correctly. I'm positive Ricky knows the correct presentation and solution, but then again, Karl could get into anybody's head and screw them up. 🤣

As mentioned - Ricky sets up the classic heaven and hell doors riddle a bit wrong when he first sets it up. The one guarding hell doesn't always tell a lie - the liar could be guarding either door. And the truth teller could be guarding either door. You do not know which one guards each door (or gate) -- the object is to find out in 1 question to either guard - to figure out the way to heaven? You can ask either guard the 1 question. One of them always speaks the truth and the other always lies but you don’t know which one guards which door.
Note: If you break down and look it up - many online answers are tough to understand - some explain it well.

I know it's said that everyone has a double somewhere, but it's not always what you'd expect. My husband worked in the oil patch. Years ago, when returning to camp, a couple of rig boys came running to talk to him and excitedly told of the stripper they had seen in the local city (Canada, gentlemen clubs everywhere) that looked just like me! Tom had to go see this for himself. Yeah, I know, good excuse hey? Haha. Well, as it turns out, she did look an awful lot like me but was about 10 years younger than me. Now, I know what I look like at 65 and I do wonder how she's faired in life.
