- In 2015, Axial asked me to produce a short film that encapsulated everything that is AxialFest. This is the result of those efforts. As a first-time visitor, I was blown away by the amount of hard work that goes into such an incredible event. There were trails, there were challenges, there were races, and there were some of the most incredible scale trucks I'd ever seen. Nowhere had I seen such an appreciation for a brand, and it's customers.
I was proud to be a part of this incredible event and haven't missed it since - you'll always find me in a STAFF shirt, as I love volunteering my time to help make it even better for everyone that attends. The SBG always helps judge the concourse, and a few lucky people will walk away with SBG ribbons for their efforts!
If you've never been, I highly recommend you make it part of your family's holiday planning. This is an event that is all-inclusive, and everyone is welcome, provided you bring your Axial-based trucks to compete with.
My thanks to the good people at Axial, and the owners/staff of Cisco Grove Campground for what is definitely a highlight of every summer. Nothing brings more people together quite like this event - hope to see you there!

I've been following your Budget Build $50 a week. I really like what you bring to the table. Now I've fell upon this work of art and have been blown away even further. That's amazing, thanks for the feedback. I had a really fun time producing this video. Labor of love for sure, as I was filming continuously for 4 days, I sort of missed the event. Ha! I'll bet it would! Truth be told, I'm a Disabled Veteran, one Rent increase from the Streets..... I've only got *one* Rig (worth taking), and in my mid fifties. I LOVE to watch these events, but I just don't know if going there is going to be an option.
Like I said, I've got one viable Rig - a Wraith, and only because a very generous person in the RC Crawler Community shocked me by BUYING me a kit!! Other than that, I don't even have your basic SCX10. Not even a Deadbolt!
I KNOW my luck is going to change, just don't know when (BIG Inheritance, someday). If I could go to work tomorrow, I would in a heartbeat! But, that's not in the cards either.

WOW this popped up as a suggestion to watch. What's crazy is as I am watching your coverage of the 2015 Axialfest that got uploaded January 2018, I still get that pumped, excited feeling about this hobby. I went to Axialfest last year for the first time, and unfortunately this year I wasn't able to make it, BUT this video, and others like it still get me jazzed about next year, or the next big event and how can I get to it. Local and small events are fun as well, but there is nothing like spending a week around 3,000 RC/scale/crawler/monster truck/rock bouncer/ etc. fanatics just like you and having the time of your life with them. For anyone that is into this hobby get out and enjoy ANY of these major crawling RC events that you can. The only regrets will be missing the next years major events. THANKS SBG, awesome coverage.

They're likely tow straps to help pull a truck out of trouble.

Most of it. Frame (except for a few aftermarket), trans, axle internals.

Awesome video! The clarity of the slowmo was sensational 🤩 I could geek out for hours watching but in reality it would only be about 45 minutes 😁 Last summer I got to wheel with Sean & Huff at his event in Maine. I didn’t have a 1/10 for the course so Danny let me break*in his virgin SCXII Comanche build and hooked me up with a pile of batteries and I had a Awesome time 🙌🏼 super cool guys 👍🏻 looking forward to #Axialfest2018 🍻 btw what kind of camera do you use?
Awesome, sounds like a good time! That's the great thing about Axialfest, is meeting up with friends. I appreciate that part the most. I shot this with a Sony F55. High end camera at the time.

Should I buy the trx4 or gmade Komodo? I have a metal wraith already I just want more scale and ingenuity with four link. Komodo has four link and metal chassis, trx4 has portal axles, two spd transmission, Hi-Lo, independently locking diffs. What do you guys prefer
I can't really comment as I've never owned a Komodo. Watch my review on the TRX for my opinions. It's a very interesting truck, but I find most of the features to be gimmicky things I don't generally use.
