I have a course in miracles and haven’t figured out yet how to navigate it or where to start. Regarding A Course in Miracles, it is definitely a life-changer! Here is an overview of how to study, and grow with the course: 1) Read some of the text every day, if you can. (First half of the book.) Also read the Preface. Reading one or several pages is fine. If you skip a day, that is okay too. 2) Do one Lesson every day, from the section titled, “Workbook For Students.” This section is near the middle of the book. It doesn’t matter if you understand the lessons or not at first, as they still work anyway, and you will eventually gain understanding. If you can't get one done every day, just do what you can. You can also spend more than one day on a lesson, but don’t do more than one lesson per day. 3) It is helpful for you to read the section titled, “A Clarification of Terms.” This section is in the latter part of the book, and covers topics such as, what is: Forgiveness, the MIND-SPIRIT, the Ego, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. 4) There is also a section titled Manual For Teachers, right before the Clarification of Terms. Reading this section is very helpful as it covers some controversial terms such as Reincarnation, Justice, Healing, Psychic Powers, Death and if God can be reached directly. Although the course advises not teaching it tenants until all the lessons have been completed, many people find these sections to be very helpful in their understanding of the course. Hi Michele, we took on an "ego" when we took on bodily form. We wanted an ego to keep us believing the we are separate from everyone else, and more special. The ego is not a learning device, but wants to keep us believing in "sin" and a separation from God. You are love, and the ego wants to keep you from realizing it, and realizing that we are divine children of God. The body was taken on as a separation device, also, but the Holy Spirit overcame this desire to use the body that way, and instead enables the body to be a learning device. The body enables communication while on this earth, and when used under the direction of the Holy Spirit, is viewed then as holy! Let me know if you have questions.
