My dad served in this war and said if had not used the Atom bombs they would have eventually attack us and that was why there was no long land invasion by the US in 1945. Fighting stopped in 1945 but there was no official end of this war. My dad never trusted the Germans or the Japanese as he called them. Sadly we rounded up Japanese Americans were put in interment camps.
