Number one, if you're a decent musician, you'll always put the best of your abilities into a performance. If you're not constantly trying to improve, you're doing something wrong. "Just having fun" isn't an excuse to throw musicality out the window.

Who freakin cares that it isn't technical, it's a freakin awesome drum cover with him getting into it with body movements that enhance the whole aura of the video!
As a drummer I listen to this instead of the original version, this is the best.
It doesnt really matter if its simple or complex, chops are one thing but only drummers can appreciate fully. Groove connects with everyone. Have to say the drumming in this flows perfectly.

Honesty, the comments about dynamic are true, I still think that shouldn't affect people's opinion because thats what we are here for! Its dylan taylor we're talking about. He makes the best covers and he plays however loud or soft he wants. personally, i couldnt care less as long as he plays amazingly (and he always does) AND keeps the haters hating and masturs bating

Your kit sounds sooo good. The part when you mess around on the rims is just soo good. The clarity blows my mind.
I dont see everyones problem with this guy...He's playing like he enjoys the music which in my opinion is the most important part of being a true musician, and i don't want to watch some guy behind a drum kit who looks boring but has the right dynamics and techniques and all the rest, because even though they are important they don't look nearly as good as watching an amazing drummer like this going mental on a drum kit like a true drummer should, You need to feel the music.

A musicians job is to be an entertainer, What is more entertaining than the person who is carrying the song also setting the bar for the energy level.? I see where you're coming from, Travis Barker's appeal is how clean his chops are, like people dig him because he's a perfectionist and his timing is ALWAYS on point, but who am I to judge, I just listen to Drum Covers all day on youtube.
He gets into it. It's obvious that Travis is one of his role models but that doesn't mean he's trying to be him. He's just into the music.

a lot of these people don't really get why playing at ffff is not a bad thing, because (and i can just tell by the way you play and your other covers) that you like metal and play it. and you might be getting hate for using triggers, but every single metal drummer uses triggers and that's the way it's supposed to sound. but don't worry, i know and appreciate what you do. you kick ass dude. if you get a band going, (and everyone else is on your level) you'll go far. best of luck. -Rivera

Lots of people seem to be ragging on this guy for the complexity of his drumming, but there's honestly no problem there. The problem is that he has no idea what a dynamic is or that drumming is all in the wrists. I can guarantee he breaks more heads than the average person.
For everyone complaining that this is just average drumming. Fine, but he's doing a drum cover of a hip song off basic beat. No where does it say in the description say that it is meant to be amazing. He adds his own drumming spin to the song which sounds good. just because a drummer can do crazy licks doesn't mean its necessary. As for the exaggerated movements, as a drummer myself some times those movements help me stay in rhythm and time correctly, and don't control that.

Dude I love this set. My last one from lik 8 years ago (high school grad gift) was that Pacific X7. Liked it cuz I like the PDP hardware. But I want something just like this now. Just a 4 piece but a big 4, built like a brick shit house, maybe with a smaller little squealer on the side for a poppy snare.

I think it look like samples because this is probably a comp of a lot of performances for the camera that arent the actual drum performance. It also doesnt help that there is a ton of post on the kit, particularly the weird EQ+Gate on the toms, its also possible that the engineer flew the "best" snare hit to all the snares
