Hi Terence, first, thank you so much for the video! Can I follow your instructions to install the electrical fireplace under a window? The window has standard frames around it that stick out of the wall a bit which might interfere with the heat from the heater. That also means there is nothing behind that wall. Outside that window/wall is the street. If it is ok to do so, how far apart should the heater be away from the window? If I can ask, where are you located? Thanks!
Hi Julie, Sorry for the delayed response. You can absolutely install it underneath a window. As far as distance, there is nothing to damage it unless rain is able to come through the window. If not, I guess you will have to decide where it looks best for you. Maybe in the middle of the window and the floor? The heat will rise so no worries about that. I am located in Chicago. Any more questions don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for watching!

Terence, we recently moved into a house where the previous owner installed this exact same model. However, he (or his not-so-good contractor) installed it FLUSH to the dining room wall. That means that the heat has no place to go but inside the wall. I can only assume that this is a really bad fire hazard, don't you think? The unit isn't even secured inside the wall cutout, you can actually pull the unit out and have it hang partially away from the wall if you want to use the heater. I don't prefer to do that because it looks terrible. Instead I have taped over the heater/on button on the remote to insure that no one attempts to turn the heater on without my knowledge.

@@edmc755 , heat flows from the top of this partiular unit. If you install it inside of a wall, the unit then becomes a fire hazzard and useless as a heating element. Hi, I am not sure where you live as I live in Chicago, Il. I have a very backed up schedule. I would love to help unfortunately, I cannot at this time. Thank you for watching.
Looks great!!! Question: I want to add 2 bookcases on each side of the fireplace and a wall mounted TV above the fireplace whats the least amount of space needed?
I rly want the Puraflame Alice 50”... But ONLY wall recessed... Thought about trying to hang it tho... When they say recessed only can you still possibly hang it?
I was wondering how these were mounted. Ideally, it would look the best to recess it but I have to think then you’d have to cut out numerous studs then almost frame it with 4x4’s to support the studs above it. Seems like a lot to mount a fireplace.
@@TerenceDIY I did a little more research. Sounds like its not too bad if you can verify its a non-load bearing wall. You don't have to worry about collapsing the roof. That would put me in the doghouse with the wife for sure!
Hi Erik, the heater element does pretty good. It keeps that entire room warm (14x12). As far as size, the unit comes in quite a few sizes. Go to Amazon and type in 30 inch or 40-inch fireplace and you will see a host of them. Those sizes are currently on sale. Thanks for watching!
Just curious how you like this particular fireplace model after a couple months of use. There are a lot on the market of differing quality. Is it realistic looking? Decent temperature output? Great vid as always

I want to install this in my living room and master bedroom. The issue is, I have wainscoting in my living room and I want to do the same size as this one, 40-50in wide. Will I have to cut parts of the wainscoting off in order for it to be flush against the wall, or can I install it over the wainscoting?
Hi. Correction, it’s not wainscoting. It is Chair rail with picture frame molding underneath. Would I need to have parts of the picture frames molding cut out?
Hi Jacob, sorry for the late response. It will be better to buy one that requires a recessed install than to frame around one like this. Thanks for watching!

Hi Terence, l like your work. How can l get you to mount a fire place in my house.?
I am locate in the Chicago area.
Aww..disappointed, l live in Long Island N Y.
Sorry, Salma. I would have installed it for you.
I love this!!! Great job!
Thank you Tiera and thanks for watching!
Good tips!!
Thank you Leonardo and thanks for watching!
Great job easy to follow thank you.
You're very welcome Lorna. Thank you SO much for watching.
Wowwww your video was the most helpful. Thank you so much.
Hi, does your heat come out the top or bottom?
It comes out of the top. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! It helped a lot I bought one trying to spice up my room and I didn’t know a lot on how to do it thank you for helping
Great ! What is the name of the fire place you installed and size please ?
Thank you ..
Hello Where did you purchase that fireplace ? And is it safe to mount a 4k tv above it ?
Hi Sylvia, sorry for the late response. If you mount a TV about it, I would place it at least 2ft. above it. The heat rises from the top of the fireplace. I bought the fireplace from a friend that never used it because he sold his house. Here is a link to one that is similar.

Thank you 🤗
Can you install that one also in a wall??
Nope. You need a recessed unit. Thanks for watching!
Why is that you can’t install in wall ???
@@edmc755 , heat flows from the top of this partiular unit. If you install it inside of a wall, the unit then becomes a fire hazzard and useless as a heating element. I just did another review and installation on a different model that can be installed onto a wall or recessed. Thats the unit you want and it's nicer. You can find that video on my channel. Thank you.
@@TerenceDIY thank you , I bought one but this one the air flows at the bottom with a shout where air flows out ??
@@edmc755 , if heat flows from the bottom (underneath) the unit, you cannot recess it. Now, if heat comes from the front (face) of the unit at the bottom then you can recess it. If you're still unsure, send me the name and model of the unit you bought and I will let you know. Thanks,
I have one for over a year and I thought that I had to open a hole on the wall 😆😆, thank you for sharing now I will feel more comfortable to ask someone to do it for me 💖
Awesome! Good luck with the install. Thanks for watching!
This was really helpful! Thanks.
Do you have videos of how you did the rest of the house too?
Hi Ali, sorry for the late reply. Yes, there are quite a few videos of things I did to that house. I even uploaded a video of the job when I finished it. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Not too long and Explained everything very well 👍 so thorough
Thanks, Kyle.
Can you install mine?
Hi, I am not sure where you live as I live in Chicago, Il. I have a very backed up schedule. I would love to help unfortunately, I cannot at this time. Thank you for watching.
awesome video thanks man!!!
You're very welcome Brad. Thanks for watching!
So you mean to tell me nobody thought he was mike epps at first 🤷🏾♂️
He's older, but I'll take it. LOL
Why does he keep calling screws “bolts”?
Sorry. It's a habit. Thanks for watching.
Thank you definitely needed this video.
You're very welcome. Thank you for watching!
Why is it not flush in the wall that’s the way it should have been installed
Hi Aaron, it's not a recessed unit. Thanks for watching!
Looks great!!! Question: I want to add 2 bookcases on each side of the fireplace and a wall mounted TV above the fireplace whats the least amount of space needed?
You want the TV to be at least 20" above the fireplace and the book shelves can be as close as a 12". Thanks for watching!
I just got mine I wish you can do my fireplace
I wish I could help you as well, Tacaras. Wouldn't charge much because it's so simple. Thanks for watching!
@@TerenceDIY you replied lol 😆 aww so sweet thanks 😊 love ❤️
Can you do a video on how to take it off the wall
I rly want the Puraflame Alice 50”...
But ONLY wall recessed...
Thought about trying to hang it tho...
When they say recessed only can you still possibly hang it?
Hi King, it will not look right if it's recessed only. They are designed to be recessed in a wall closure for aesthetics.
I love the fireplace. Great job installing it!
This is awesome. I was thinking we have to smash our walls to do it.
I didnt see it in the discription and cant turn it up since people sleeping lol what inch is this ?? 30in???
50 inch.
You made it look so easy! Can’t wait to try 🙂 Thank you for sharing
You're very welcome. Thanks for watching!
I was wondering how these were mounted. Ideally, it would look the best to recess it but I have to think then you’d have to cut out numerous studs then almost frame it with 4x4’s to support the studs above it. Seems like a lot to mount a fireplace.
I agree with you. The recessed fireplaces are very nice, but it's a job to install. The wall-mounted fireplaces are nice too! Thanks for watching!
@@TerenceDIY I did a little more research. Sounds like its not too bad if you can verify its a non-load bearing wall. You don't have to worry about collapsing the roof. That would put me in the doghouse with the wife for sure!
Can you please give info of where purchase of fire place???
What size would you recommend for a 70 inch tv mounted on my basement wall.
Sorry for the late response. I've been with my dad who is in the hospital. I would go with the 50". Nothing less. Thanks for watching!
How much heat does it blow out?
Does the fireplace unit come in 30 or 40 inch options?
Hi Erik, the heater element does pretty good. It keeps that entire room warm (14x12). As far as size, the unit comes in quite a few sizes. Go to Amazon and type in 30 inch or 40-inch fireplace and you will see a host of them. Those sizes are currently on sale. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the information.
Just curious how you like this particular fireplace model after a couple months of use. There are a lot on the market of differing quality. Is it realistic looking? Decent temperature output? Great vid as always
It's a really nice fireplace. EVERYONE that walks into the house LOVES it! Many compliments. The heat output is surprisingly good too! Thanks for watching!
I thought you was Mike Epps
He's older but I'd take that comparison. Thanks for watching.
I want to install this in my living room and master bedroom. The issue is, I have wainscoting in my living room and I want to do the same size as this one, 40-50in wide. Will I have to cut parts of the wainscoting off in order for it to be flush against the wall, or can I install it over the wainscoting?
Hi Stacey, install it directly over the wainscotting for a cleaner, nicer look. Thanks for watching!
Hi. Correction, it’s not wainscoting. It is Chair rail with picture frame molding underneath. Would I need to have parts of the picture frames molding cut out?
Yes, Stacey. You will need to remove a section of the frames. Sorry for the late response. My dad is in the hospital so I am behind on many things.
I like the details. Thank you!
Can you frame around this fireplace so it's not just free hanging ?
Hi Jacob, sorry for the late response. It will be better to buy one that requires a recessed install than to frame around one like this. Thanks for watching!
Did u hide the cables!?
Very helpful thanks for the vid.! You do great work man.
Thank you.
Why aren't we recessing? Looks WAY better.
Thank you🙂 This video was very helpful.
For my interior design this help me alot thanks..
I hate that it had a frikin cord!!!
Does it have other colors besides blue and red?
Sorry for the late response. With this particular model, the only colors are blue and red. There are newer models that have an array of colors. Thanks for watching!
