People need to see this fight. Absolute greatness, reminded me of the good old days of 2000's MMA. Everyone now only thinks about modern corporate UFC forgetting that there are amazing fights like this outside of it. Respect to both men for giving us this classic.
They earn 1000-200SEK/game and the guys behind this earn 10k. Last year they got 730-760k in ticket sold and they had to pay out 740k so both behind it got 10k each, so its nothing you can live and have for a living.
it wasn't very technical but the hearts and chins they displayed were incredible and left me thinking the same bro.. this was the classic unstoppable force vs the immovable object

Holy moly. The sort of fight you don't often see. Like backing back in the old days when people would just wail on each other until someone was sent to the shadow realm. Stoppage was good too, saved Lampinen a lot of damage I think.
This might be a goofy take, especially as a non-Nord (Greek), but there is something special about the Nordic grit that I believe is in full display here.
You are right! Living in HARSH conditions for centuries does something. Even tho we got some of the weakest people ever in our big cities. Get out to the small towns and villages and you will meet some of the toughest people ever.
Gustafsson deserved the victory but I believe the stoppage was too soon 2 seconds left on the round. Lampinen had taken a lot of hard shots but still had a chanse with better endurance going to the 3rd round. MMA is not a healthy sport by any means and I understand its probably better for both of them that the fight was stopped. On the otherhand if both fighters want to continue their decision should be respected. They are grown men and they have a freedom to destroy themselves if they want to. With a 3rd round this would have been an even better fight and probably the best fight of their life. An incredible fight nevertheless and respect to both fighters. Those fuckers are made from iron. They are probably shitting bricks and eating steel for breakfast.
The referees job is to make sure the fighters don't take more permanent damage than they have to. Lampinen already took a ton of damage and he wasn't defending himself on the ground, it was a good stoppage. The only thing that would have happened was more brain damage for Lampinen at that point.
Both these guys are DEAD GAME , rare level, no quit in the loser and throwing meaningful answers under heavy fire and staying composed some how and In it . I would watch them fight again but that's a fight you don't want to have that many times.

I used to train at a competing gym to Andreas, in the same town as this fight. I quit a few years in, but it's kind of scary to think that i might have been a W on his amateur scorecard and tremble at what would be left of me then :D Great fight, amazing heart and technique.
