- Todd Tuckey shows you a rare Bally MEDUSA with only 3250 made, and released February of 1981....how many survive today of course is unknown! But enjoy this high def video of the beautiful artwork and cabinet, and what a complicated set of rules!!! You will LOVE this!! I wonder how many people will BUY a Medusa after they see this video! (Let me know!)
These videos are just invaluable. Not only for video game history as well, there is no other place I could enjoy watching a show like this.
Great Job. An old Bally engineer that loves your videos. This game came out when I was at Bally in the early 1980s. We fought for years to get the zipper-flippers in a digital pin. Another bit of trivia you may be interested in, Bally was stuck with thousands of leftover 6-digit displays when we made the switchover to 7-digit. That is why so many games from that era featured the display under the playfield. It was an excuse to use them up.
What neat information Allan! I will share it with our next Bally game that has a display underneath the playfield! And I owe you a lunch one day!
Thats cool you worked for them,i noticed that display on pf is in quite a few ballys back then. You guys made great games,i need a medusa! Oh and a centaur and about 10 others lol
Medusa is the best pinball machine in the world, it couldn't be better.
The lighted flippers on medusa is a nice touch! They really did pack everything in on this game!
Edmond Niemczura I agree!
I'm very, very happy with this game, Todd. Beautiful job.
Still got it?
Glad you like it Stephen!
Been looking for a nice example of this machine for a while. Beautiful.
Wonderful artwork, great sound and that one was a beauty!
What a great looking pinball and looks very interestingly entertaining.
Great classic sounds. Nice job. The short skit at the end should become a regular thing. Quite entertaining.
We had fun adding the "phone call" at the end!!
Great video Todd. My dad and I loved to play this in our basement arcade back in the 90's. It's a beauty alright.
Thanks!
Spectrum ,Medusa , and enbryon , yes another one , all these 80s games are tough to win on but Medusa is feast or fathom, lol! And yes the devil laughs and on flash Gordon, lol, another tough game to play, lol!
glad I found out about you guys! really enjoying all these videos of these old pins and arcades! you guys obviously do top notch work.
cannot take credit for it! It was Frank...the cameraman who thought adding it...although we have joked about people calling companies that don;t exist anymore!
The dammed devils laugh in that game, LOL!
WoW what's a very nice pinball machine.
I remember that game I used to win credits left and right on the upper play field. !
Glad you liked it!!
Now that's some funny stuff Todd, keep up the good work. I called the number for the Terminator 2 fan club that was listed on the Midway's Terminator 2 arcade game. Just goes to a telemarketing company that selling T-Boost.
Great video! Loved the bit at the end!
Oh my i really want that game, looks so fun and cool, hilarious ending lol
I will guess the ending upset some folks!
@@tntamusements thats just silly, always someone not happy of course
Thanks!
great video..wow what people can do with imagination.
Hey look who's here! And I was going to send you this link, LOL!
Great job tntamusements ... I love your videos. :)
It IS a neat game!
they could not have been that rare in the day because I played on both those tables but I remember both of them, unfortunately the spectrum I played on was in a fire at a bar and the place was destroyed,I still have both games on mame. medusa is a bitch to play but I remember kicking that games ass on location without the quarter on a string!!! I remember the unlimited credits when u cleared those top targets just right until you drained what memories!!!
Its rare now...as many were junked when they started having mechanical issues!
Nice game...Red LED's would of been better in the eyes...just my opinion..and I am an expert
you got a brand new one. yours is in a very good state. i didnt know that it was a rare one before i bought my medusa. only payed 300 euros for it. does anyone know some prices how much a bally medusa is worth? great video!
LOL..... Bally isn't like TNT, where you get a live person on the phone. Great video and classic phone!
Joystick Evolution 1 Thank you! We had fun making it!
this was done the same year they did Fathom and Centaur, two incredibly awesome pin ball games in their own right, but even they don't laugh at you like one does or have the awesome "zipper flipper".
Destroy centaur. Good memories!
Centaur has "Ha, ha, ha" in the ROM, you can hear it in the self test. Not sure if it comes on during the game, I'm ashamed to say after 30 years of owning one I can't recall how to activate it (maybe the coin or tilt switches)? Centaur did like to mock you though -- "Slow aren't you", "Bad move human", "No class human". I never played Medusa before, but I'm surprised by the similarity of voices between it and Centaur. Medusa could have also benefited from Centaur's "Say-It-Again" sound reverb card if they could find somewhere to shoehorn it in.
Zaccaria's "Time Machine" also had the red flippers along with blue ones.
Neat!!
What are the replay levels for this game?
Hey Todd, did you loose a bit of weight since this video?
Oh boy...probably not...I am 280 now...
Translucent drop targets? Try some BINGO CHIPS?
i do have a medusa pinball machine and i bought it in the netherlands and i also live there. I hear from many people that its a rare one. But i also saw lots of different prices for it. Can someone give me a number of a price for this thing? I really dont know
If its in good shape id say around 2000-2500 range
This was our go-to game all through high school, and I've been shopping for one unsuccessfully for a few years. If anyone ever wants to sell one, please let me know.
Jeffrey Michels Probably not many left out there...
if you are that intereted in it do you know some prices how much a medusa bally is worth?
"Centaur" also had the red flippers.
The flyer for the game shows black flippers with red rubber rings.

and if you think that game is rare go try to get a machine called krull, there was only 10 made, I do have the software for it and can play it on pinmame! ohh damm,I also see you have embryon as well, another game I played back in the day, can only play it on pinmame now! world cup soccer tour music, hehe!
I saw a Krull but it was not working...so have not been able to play one.

I wanna know.... do you still play with trains like the shirt says?
Well, I used to! When I moved, we sold our trains!
Dozens? I'd say hundreds, if not THOUSANDS
What year is this machine??
Feb of 1981 when it was released!
I have one
