How can the spider/flag/plant question be an IQ question? its a knowledge question not an IQ question. If this is a real question in the Mensa USA test, its just ridiculous! And about the popular thing. You can not teach your kids to believe they will be popular just by knowing how to solve tricky questions, its as stupid as believing you will be popular by showing of your big muscles. You need to use your abilities to help others in some way, then you might have the use of it. Otherwise people will just see you as a show off. Social dynamics is about fitting into a group by being the authoritative figure (usually by being snappy and visually pleasing on the eyes), or by contributing something els to the group like humor or something that is relatable.
TH3MS this is not on the real Mensa test. It’s just a stupid question CBS came up with for this story. The real questions are about identifying patterns in shapes and stuff like that - not your knowledge
What's funny is that I did not recognize one person in this video. High IQ doesn't mean you will do big things in this world or be the next Stephen Hawking or Einstein.
Yeah being born a genius is actually worse. I was born gifted and a genius and things came so easily to me that I never developed work ethic.. which is all that really matters when you are an adult and in the workforce
Even if MENSA was able to accurately screen for the top 2% of intelligence, I would not let my kid be a member. Imagine the inflated ego some of these kids will have once they mature.
For me at least it has helped. I don't have great friends at school, struggle with self-criticism and anxiety, so Mensa was a reliable social outlet. If a kid qualifies to join mensa, then the kid probably understands that intelligence is a gift we are born with, not something we attain, and to be boastful about it would be foolish. Everybody in this world just wants to fit in, and parading around a Mensa membership isn't the way to do that.
LTravels Worldwide yeah, I joined my senior year of high school. It's just a bunch of people who see their membership as a way to connect with others who are interested in similar things. My chapter has SIG'S, or special interest groups, and I've joined a rock climbing and board game sig so far. Nobody gives off elitist or superioristic vibes, and each values what others have to say. Thank you for asking! I've enjoyed it so far! =D
LTravels Worldwide I just graduated from my high school, yeah. And no, mensa isn't a school. People pay a membership fee after submitting their test scores, and that membership money goes to voluntary group activities and general maintanence. In fact, the annual US mensa gathering is coming up, but I don't think I'll go. Here's a link if you're interested! ag.us.mensa.org
MENSA = club of people who are good at puzzles and not much else. Intelligence is about being able to solve problems people who come up with new ideas that can change society. Just because you are good at finishing crossword puzzles does not make you a genius.
VIDEOSUPERHIGHWAY Mensa members have the creativity and intelligence to change society, they are in the top 2% of creativity and over intelligence, so those people have an higher chance of solving problems than an average person.
VIDEOSUPERHIGHWAY Not exactly, intelligence is coming in many different ways, there are so many types of intelligences and some of them are including Mathematical intelligence, Linguistic intelligences and more. Not every intelligent person has a very high creativity since being creative is by itself a type of intelligence.
@@b3at2Maybe but if they don't remember it (or never learn it), it doesn't prove they aren't smart. So it's like they're testing for a very specific kind of smart person.
No, the IQ test does not measure your mathematical skills, knowledge nor memory. It measures your intelligence on a general level, regardless of how you'd apply it.
To those who believe that Mensa members are egotistical and arrogant: That is exactly the attitude toward intelligence that demonstrates a need for this organization. Many (if not most) members have been bullied and made to feel inferior for being different. Mensa gives those people a way to socialize with others who understand them. Maybe ditch the negative attitude and show respect for everyone, and perhaps there would be no need for Mensa.
Of the 57000 Mensa members there are actually 362 Black Mensa members. We're all individuals more than anything else with our own unique DNA code and personal life histories.
I am no genius, but there are an infinite unverifiable number of intelligences of which all of us in our own respective cohorts pertain. Therefore, this club is only a sample of selective intelligence.
I think the people who hate Mensans assume Mensans look at them the way they look at morons. In reality Mensans are too busy doing the mental activities they enjoy to care that you spend your time watching monster truck shows, professional wrestling and spectator sports.
Being unusually gifted at figuring the odds doesn't necessarily mean you'll win every card game but it does give you an advantage over most people that might get you banned from gambling at most Casino's in Las Vegas. Producing anything of actual importance depends entirely on what you consider important which is a personal values judgment varying between each individual beyond the realm of scientific analysis to determine since it inherently involves subjective biases.
Not impressed. All this yet ego, hierarchical thinking, and lower emotions still clings to these people. They think with there minds and forget the heart and their feelings. A mind (thus soul) wasted. The rewards, hierarchies, and clubs made by this world are nothing but scams. Free yourself from King Mind and give yourself to Prince Pure Energy
Nah I don't buy it. This is only a gathering of people who wants to boost their ego and little else. Imagination is more important than knowledge. The only real valuable thing is intuition.
dianateabag your honour, you may not be so good at some types of math but good at other's, you can't categorize math as just numbers, numbers are just verbal representions of quantity, poor verbal working memory is all responsible for worse number skills, but, math is way more than that
I'd feel like I'd fit there but I probably get every question wrong except the math questions and maybe some science questions that have to do with gravitation bending in time and space and light and blacks holes and other stuff like that. So I'm pretty retarded overall but extremely smart when it comes to math and science anything else Im just really bad at or do t care enough to even try
ItzCrafting for my age category I have an IQ above average highly creat and I have quick problem solving skills faster then adverage teenagers. I also I'm musically gifted I can hear a song once or twice and know how to sing it on tune with memorization of lyrics
I can probably easily pass school if I tried all it is remembereing facts and bullshit so it's hard for me to pass a test that I don't give a fuck about or payed attention when I can think of mathematical equations of weight which equals the mass times the gravitation acceleration divided by the distance between the objects which I thought of that on my own which turns out I was right. I can be really dumb but I'm probably ine of the smartest kids in my school when it comes to Astro physics and math and advanced science and astronomy
@GreggaryPeccary _____Speaking of facets, human minds have multiple values. There are those capable of calculating vast sums in their heads, yet cannot compose a simple tune. My biggest pet peeve is when people confuse knowledgeable with intelligent.
It's testing the ability to retain knowledge briefly learned. But you are correct, this would not normally be in a real IQ test.

Higher level than average I.Q. people at least have a better chance of recognizing the fact the society we are born into is a Matrix of deception.
The reporter didn't tell us the answer at the end.
lol that’s an IQ question ? Sounds more like trivia
I think if one remembers random facts like that it proves they are smart.

Yes, in most occasions it does measure you mathematical skills.
This doesn't mean anything

no blacks lol
The Black Introvert ...watch my videos. ...my 4 year old is beyond mensa's thirteen year olds...
The Black Introvert
But they're from Denver KeK
didn't see many asians or jew either
lol there wasn’t much of any race but plenty of other races qualify ...look at the physicians and PhDs in academia lol

MENSA means "STUPID" in Spanish.
Jaja, es verdad. Me estaba riendo cuando veia el video.
So basically a club to make yourself feel superior.
Read where Mensa tests are designed to be passed by 1 in 50 people, whereas Prometheus Society tests 1 in 30, 000.
Looks like a reddit meet up
IQ isn't everything, there's emotional intelligence, street smarts, social skills, wisdom, all that isn't measured in an IQ score.
Jealous?

That 13 yo girl doesn't seem that smart
because you don't measure IQ but LOOKS.
Euthanize
Actually looks pretty fun
Is the answer 31??
Do you get pictures with each question? ?
