I admire anyone that donates their time and money to help these precious little fur babies. Any fur babies actually. I realize that people's lives change and things come up in their lives but I, myself took that into consideration when I adopted my fur babies that where I go they go. I haven't gone on a vacation for years and I don't mind. I don't trust just anyone to watch them. I'm a picky mom. I do donate to rescues by buying products that are sold but I wish that there was a rescue in my area for me to be able to help with the little stinkers. Keep up the good work. They love and appreciate you for it.
Thanks for this video. It made me sad for the piggies who need homes, but happy that there are kind folks who are invested in their care. I totally agree that it comes down to people taking the time to educate themselves and understand in advance what it means to own guinea pigs. It's a big investment in time and money. Keep up the great work! ❤️
Thank you to the rescue those sweet adorable unconditional loving guinea pigs that so desperately need your help are happy and healthy you do a beautiful loving joy of taking care of them it’s brings happy tears to my eyes to know that there are auther people out there that love ❤️ guinea pigs Pet store only care for them self’s you would think that in are day and age that this kind of abuse would not be going on, there are way too many people that don’t know how to take care of guinea pigs the right way and because of this so many of them suffer and even torture like some of the places that take them in need to learn what to do for them when they get mainge mights and instead of taking them to some one that knows how to treat them for what they have they will keep the poor little guinea pig that is biting the hec out of its back and sides trying to reach were they are biting it but they can’t reach the spot were they are biting it and they will keep the guinea pig and bye this time when it bites itself and will pass out before they will serrender it bye this time the the sweet little piggy has been going through toucher
I help run a rescue in the US. Everything you say is so true! We use our own money and take piggies into our home if we’re full. We have a waiting list of over 30 piggies. It’s sad!
Such a beautiful place! I seen one of your piggies in there!! You must have gotten her from this rescue!! That piggie really stand out. Ive never seen one with that coloration before! Sometimes I feel like rescues can be a little too distrustful of people, turning down too many people. Which makes people want pet shops so they don't have to be looked at like a monster or an idiot. We all have to start somewhere. If rescues were more helpful and open minded I think that would be better. It also seems harder to reach the rescues. I had a hard time with this when I first started with guinea pigs. It ultimately lead to me going to a pet store. I regret it because of the extreme harm of the animals. I will always look for rescues or rescue them myself. I have four girls right now and they are my favorite animals in the whole world. I'm a changed woman because of these little creatures. There is definitely a lot to learn and I think more people aren't up for it but that shouldnt make it so that people like me aren't able to have an animal. This video looks like such a wonderful rescue though. Some of the most pretty pigs there. I was also surprised to hear that they have so many bonded boys!! Good job! And I love my girls because my magic number is four piggies!!! When I get older I might try boys and only have two. They are so handsome and confident!!
Thanks Monique. What a lovely rescue to have near you. Really helpful video encouraging people to adopt rather than buy when they’re looking to get piggies. How are your girls doing now? Any plans to add to the group?! xx
I have been wanting a pair of piggies for while now. I am definitely going to rescue a pair of bonded boys if possible. I am planning a trip to the rescue center near me. I was curious to know how soon after exposure to hay and the piggies should I expect a reaction? My son has excema and a cat and dog allergy. Thank you!
It's great you're going to rescue a pair of piggies! :) I'm not an expert on allergies so don't take my word for it but I would say it would be pretty much within a few minutes of being exposed to it. It's worth making sure he's not allergic before you commit to getting them just in case as you wouldn't want to have to return them to the rescue - that would be really disappointing for you and sad for the piggies.
@@GuineaPiggles You are right, I will give his allergist a call and see what he thinks. It would be so sad if I can't adopt some piggies. I have had my heart set on them. Thank you ❤️ 💙 💜 keep up the great videos!
@@GuineaPiggles I called my son's allergist and found out there is a way to test if he is allergic to specifically guinea pigs! Just an FYI as I didn't know this test existed. Fingers crossed his test comes back negative next week.
Hi Monique it is Maisie I have just changed my profile pic! I love your vids and you are the best guinea pig owner ever! I hope you don't mind but have a video request I have been thinking about my guinea pigs as it is getting quite cold they are inside but my house is not the warmest in their room so could you do a vid on how to keep your guinea pigs warm?
