When i was younger my grandpa spent every single day watching these old films on a massive tv. Id spend alot of time breathing in smoke, and watching these tinny, campy, incredible films.
This stream made me feel like i got to watch these films with jerma, and sent me way. Way back.

it's a fascinatingly bad movie. the fact that Plan 9 itself is caused by budget cuts is such a bizarrely good note! the evil aliens have bureaucracy too, and their boss tells them 'sorry, we can't do any of the cool ones anymore, we gotta try a cheap one' not with an evil sneer but more of a 'soz lol'

If the man who plays Peter, the butler in The Gorilla seems familiar, it’s because that’s Bela Lugosi, who famously played Dracula in the 1931 film.
He is also the old man/ghoul man in the plan 9 movie! it was his last movie which was released (in 1957) after he died in 1956

Public Domain movies can be fantastic, especially when there’s multiple ppl to react to it and see the humour in it. Tbf its kinda funny that Jerma apparently falls asleep watching free movies on youtube, he was watching Cromwell (1970) and somehow that bored him lol
We (Jerma and Chat) were talking about literally buying the rights to stream some movies. Gremlins 2 being a preferred example.

The gorilla is a BANGING movie
Jerma not recognizing the boxer's stomach bulge as muscles is honestly kind of sad, it shows how warped beauty ideals are. That's absolutely a ripped guy. An actually ripped guy, not the model triangle shape that comes from pectoral training, liposuction, camera tricks, posing at an angle and holding your breath (and often steroids and Photoshop as well). Body builders are models, not fighters. Even without the tricks, they do not actually have the muscles required for actual acts of athleticism. The boxer in the movie does. And the saddest part is that Jerma's view is most likely influenced by that fake wrestling he watches, where actors and models pretend to fight each other in order to sell merchandize.
yeah that part was hard to listen to. unfortunately Jerma is pretty deeply entrenched into workout culture and the idea that strength/etc. is accurately represented by the kind of appearances you see in WWE or hollywood action films (which, on top of everything else you mentioned, frequently involve severe dehydration), and it doesn't seem like he'll let go of those perceptions anytime soon

The first stream I ever saw live from Jerma, right at the start of quarantine for me. Needless to say, I was hooked from day one.

I LOVE the public domain movie streams, I'm so happy they got cut down and uploaded here. Plus an hour long video, that makes it better to fall asleep to. I hope Jerma does more of these eventually, it seems like these and the infomercials were like 1 or 2-off things he did and never thought about again, like completely out of left field. I wanna see him react to old Universal monster movies like the original Frankenstein or Dracula. Dracula especially has some weird ass moments in it like the armadillos in his castle, the bat on a string riding the horse or the random closeup and freeze of the crucifix. Even if only brief I feel like they would be ripe for Jerma commentary.

I was diagnosed with lung cancer a few months ago and started cooking meth in order to pay for my treatment and provide for my family. An opportunity arose for me to sell my product to a major distributor. On my way to the drug deal, my pregnant wife informed me that she was in labor. I think Charlie Chaplin will be much better remembered, cuz he also did the movie about Hitler, and his iconography stands the test of time better.
