Here is a quick guide to locating and installing the Nyquist de-clicker for Audacity. It is much better to use this plugin rather than Audacity's built in 'click removal' feature which in all honesty is not very effective.
THANK YOU! This was the best tutorial for installing this De-clicker. None of the other tutorials online explained how to install it as well as you. Appreciate it so much!
A little late to the party, but this has really helped. I have tried everything to reduce the clicks naturally when recording but alas we are all human and we can only do so much!
The de-clicker plug-in is very effective and should revolutionise your audio quality. It will give you more confidence behind the mic too, so you can relax knowing that those dreaded mouth noises can be removed.
You my friend, are a life saver. I thought with the updated declicker changed to click removal and I couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working anymore. And I totally forgot how to download it then enable it! Thank you!!
Thanks for shedding some light to this. I have been using Audacity recently to record my podcast and it was only once I dialed in my mic to try and get higher quality audio that I realized how often my mouth actually clicks when I talk! This is a solid tool going in the toolbox for the future! Thank you.
You’re welcome. Just be careful when using the plugin as sometimes it can remove the beginnings and ends of some words. The letters D and T can be mistaken for mouth clicks!
I've done two audiobooks so far, and I spent SOOOOO much time performing 'micro edits' to remove those blasted clips, I was not sure I would continue recording audiobooks. I can't wait to see if this works as advertised. Thank you so much.
Thanks for this, Gary! I have had a click right in the middle of a word before and just couldn’t remove it without there being an obvious break/pop sound, so I had to just re record it! I’m definitely going to download this plugin, thanks. Now I just need a plugin for those pesky plosives! 😁
@@GaryTerzza Subsequently I've noticed that running the de-clicker once sometimes doesn't eliminate everything (it still shows some clicks in 'isolate changes') so I've started running it twice at the same sensitivity level. That seems to work nicely - any downside that you're aware of?
Can It work if I recorded a song and I plug in the song with the instrumental and everything, will it still remove my mouth clicks, or I need to only put my voice not the instrumental?

Yes, it’s so useful for those tricky to remove clicks that are buried within a word.
try to put a little more distance between your mouth and the mic. in a quiet studio, you don't need to 'eat the mic' like you do in a live venue.
It really is a game-changer. Thanks for the guide!
You’re welcome - I hope the advice keeps your recordings click-free!

Good question. You will probably need to apply the de-clicker to the vocal track in isolation in order for it to be effective.
Gary you saved me!!!! Thank you sooooooooooo much!
Glad the video was useful.
thank you for this
I aim to please 😉

I installed but its not appearing in plugin manager.
Hmmm, I’m not sure why that is. Try going through the process again and see if that helps.
