Fun Fact: In the original Roald Dahl book, the Oompa Loompas were playful, happy, and energetic creatures with blonde hair and wore tribal animal skins. But as anyone who saw the 1971 film will tell you, they act dull, depressed, and soft spoken. They also have orange faces, green hair, and white overalls that have something sticking out of each of their legs for some reason . . . Yeah, just one more reason why Roald Dahl didn't care for the film.
also in the book, wonka never showed any signs of displeasure except at the other companies sending spies in to steal his secrets. and Charlie didn't do anything wrong.
Infact in all 3 big adaptations, the Oompa Loompas are all different. 1964 - Tribal Blonde things 1971 - Iconic Orange musical number singers 2005 - Literally just African Pygmies
DisneyVillainsFan 16 another fun fact - Dahl originally wanted them to be stereotypical African pygmies but his publisher wouldn’t allow it because it was pro-slavery. He was a racist piece of shit.
3:40 Look at Julie's left knee and you'll see the bloodstains from when she injured herself. One more bit of Veruca Salt trivia: her "departure" was filmed the day the actress turned 13. She was given one of the golden eggs as a present, and kept it for decades until it disintegrated. She was also supposed to return her everlasting gobstopper, but, you guessed it, she kept that as well :-) Hey, I had one of those "candy factory" kits, they came with plastic molds and a bunch of Wonka wrappers. You were supposed to pour some chocolate chips into a baggie, put it in boiling water until they melted, then cut the tip off the baggie and squeeze the chocolate into the molds. They had molds of Wonka bars and for various holidays. Anyone else have one?

I heard the chocolate river was cocoa powder and water but stunk so they changed it. The wallpaper they had put so.e stuff on the designated areas where they would lick. I don't remember what it was but it was just a bit of flavoring, they had to lick that spot only though.
The guy who played Augustus stated that it was dirty water, cocoa, sugar and cream. The reason it stunk was because of the sugar and cream going rancid toward the end of filming.
The thing is that Gen Wilder playing Wonka dident go by the script alot he would say and do his own thing. Especially during the boat scene. LOVED this movie growing up!!!
im pretty sure we would ALL know these days that the chocolate river was not real chocolate
I did but i mean if i was real
In the tim burton version the chocolate is real.
The tim burton version looked more like chocolate
1964 - Tribal Blonde things
1971 - Iconic Orange musical number singers
2005 - Literally just African Pygmies
Handy: I didn't even know there was a 1964 version. I just knew of the ones from 1971 and 2005.
@@christineboll9478 By "1964" Handy's referring to the original book.
DisneyVillainsFan 16 another fun fact - Dahl originally wanted them to be stereotypical African pygmies but his publisher wouldn’t allow it because it was pro-slavery. He was a racist piece of shit.
"Some things are best left to pure imagination" - I bet they just made this video so they can use that line.
Netflix: are you still watching? Someone’s daughter: 8:42
This is a very underrated film. This film was one of my childhood movies...
Nah, this film ain’t underrated, if anything, the remake is underrated!
3:40 Look at Julie's left knee and you'll see the bloodstains from when she injured herself. One more bit of Veruca Salt trivia: her "departure" was filmed the day the actress turned 13. She was given one of the golden eggs as a present, and kept it for decades until it disintegrated. She was also supposed to return her everlasting gobstopper, but, you guessed it, she kept that as well :-)
Hey, I had one of those "candy factory" kits, they came with plastic molds and a bunch of Wonka wrappers. You were supposed to pour some chocolate chips into a baggie, put it in boiling water until they melted, then cut the tip off the baggie and squeeze the chocolate into the molds. They had molds of Wonka bars and for various holidays. Anyone else have one?
I don’t understand how does the Oompa Loompas becoming friends and pranksters a bad thing?
So they become like jackass?
@@SpikeTheWolf They merged together and became Wee Man.
This movie actually scares me more than anything else I’ve ever watched and I’m not sure why. 🤷🏼♀️
Not me. That's ET with me.
The one with Johnny Depp scares me
Probably because Willy wonka acts like a actual nonce in the film then got arrested for being a actual nonce
@@feleciabrown1710 its supposed to, the book was creepy as hell. Have you ever even read it?
@@jackwhitbread4583 nope
Gotta admit the boat ride scene when Gene was shouting, I would be scared too! Interesting list!hmm you bring up a good point about the seat numbers! I've always wondered about that
Me too credit to Tim burton for making a chocolate River that looks more like chocolate in his 2005 movie. I agree with you
The chocolate river in the 2005 movie was real chocolate,
Fun Fact: the crew added sugar to the grass to make it edible
“The chocolate river wasn’t chocolate” wait so you’re saying that Henry Cavill wasn’t flying?
I don't get it
@@angelbeas9137 oh my god this is embarrassing I don’t remember commenting that but basically he plays Superman and I sarcastically said, so the actor that played Superman didn’t really fly?
Bahahaha best comment!
XiXi AzXa true because they putted a green screen to make it look realistic
I think I'd be pretty damn uncomfortable to be a kid watching a dude sound like he's about to have a mental breakdown while on a boat with seizure inducing lights on in the background
But the line "what is this, a freak out" makes me roll in hysteria each time!!!😉🤣🥸😆
Wilder being unpredictable throughout the film can easily be seen in the moment when Wonka disqualifies Charlie. You can plainly see that Peter Olstrum wasn't prepared for the angry outburst.
Yeah, the director decided not to tell Peter that Gene was going to yell at him so his reaction would be more genuine. Gene wanted to tell him but he couldn't
Still one of my favorite movies! I had the pleasure of acting the part of the news reporter onstage back in 2014. :) In that production, we had squirrels separating "good nuts" from "bad nuts" instead of the geese and eggs. 😊
4:01 Willy Wonka, in the Tom and Jerry take of the story, showed less emotion than Gene Wilder. Plus, Johnny Depp's Willy Wonka never got mad at Charlie when he was the last kid standing in the 2005 film.
The kid who played Charlie was so cute!
Cool Nerd that’s why the actors who played veruca and violet had a crush on him

This movie is one of my best movies in my whole life.
Let me just say, this is my favourite movie, ever. Nothing on this planet will ever come close to it and this list just made it (dare I say it?) even sweeter.
For a second I tought it said: HOT CHOCOLATE?!
I’m glad it’s “not chocolate”.
9:35 “The snozzberries taste like SNOZZBERRIES!”
“Blech, this carrot tastes musty and stale!”
“I didn’t put any carrots....!” **gasps** “HEY!” **thumps wall** “GET OUT OF THERE! Darn Oompah-Loompas!”
I have seen in an interview with the cast that the scene where Mrs. TeeVee gives the wrong name of the composer is intentional - it is supposed to demonstrate her "know it all" personality.
Even though Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory has some dark stuff behind it, it's still a good movie in my opinion.
the book was better.
Same here. Liked it myself far more than the Depp version; but, yes, the book remains better: very few novels get properly adapted to film anyway.
@@dinomonzon7493 I agree---and the Depp movie sucked big-time. Stay safe.
Same
@@dinomonzon7493 the Depp version was way better and much more closely resembled the book, even Dahl's wife was impressed and said he would have loved it. Willy wonka is not a bad movie but they did butcher it
While I did like the 2005 Tim Burton remake, the 1971 classic still reigns supreme. Gene Wilder is the best Wonka, and that Chocolate River never looked much like actual chocolate to me! 😂🍫😍
Jason Kott well it was 1971
I dont like the remake, Johnny Deppy was creepy as Willy Wonka
Jason Kott That’s coz it was actual chocolate in the remake. And the candy room was real candy. Literally everything was edible even the grass
Natearl13 No, it’s real. You should see the behind the scenes of that video. It took them a long time to finally get the right formula for the chocolate.
I agree with you, Trina. The stuff from the 1971 version does not look like chocolate AT ALL.
This is forever be my favorite movie.. Such a classic ❤️
Ms. Mojo:
"Actress Julie Dawn Cole (Veruca) cut her knee when she fell on the rock which was real, the injury can't even be seen in subsequent scenes..."
Everyone:
*Ms. Mojo you might want to check at **3:40** cause it clearly shows where she was bleeding at her knee in the scene...*
All in all... This is a true classic movie and they are all remarkable actors...
Thank you for being a part of my childhood!!

Still one of my favorite films ever. The chocolate room still blows me away.
2:44 That's not a wrong reference, though. That German is spot-on, even if the accent is way off.
1971 was fantastic for me 😍.
2005 was beautifull.
i cant believe people signed up for the film if that car foamed extinguisher solution... i did not know that stuff harms your skin.
In that time it probably wasn't the worst thing on set...
Respiratory, skin, and eye irritation.
Its said he acully scared the other cast members because he wont completely off script. Which made the movie better than anything Tim Burton can do. Tim's was just like everything is does nothing new ..
