nice! how many SID chips are used here? does (Commodore 64 SID 8580 R5) means that you used 5 of the 8580 serie?
This is just one SID chip. Two are sometimes used to make it stereo. R5 means the chip revision, the 6581 and 8580 chip revisions are pretty distinct at times with the analog output filters and bugs, but one can argue which one they prefer.
@@amurtigress_mobile365 When it comes to what I prefer, it depends on what the track was made for. If it's made for the 6581, it'll be better on there and vice versa.

I am more amazed by 4 channels on a 3 channel chip. How did they do that? some raster trickery doubling one channel?
They play samples with the volume control if I remember correctly.

The versatility of the SID chip actually trumps the capabilities of the Amiga's Paula Chip
SID is 3 oscillators + "4th voice" that hack volume register to play samples
The beat comes too early, timing is flawed. It's a pity, because otherwise great piece of music.
