Good job on the upgrade and the talk through. Been trying to figure out the best for me. Great job on the test ride and bringing us along for the results. Thank you!
I ran into the same problem with my calipers and pads, had to modify them like you did. That was probably the most annoying part. Oh and with the proportioning valve, I had to use a mighty vac to bleed the brakes completely. It's a weird feeling when you drive the truck for the first time with powerful brakes - your brain says, 'why is the steering so difficult!' :D
Great job on the swap and video. How do the Scarebird discs perform compared to the 10 inch drums? Nothing wrong with drums in goid shape, but discs are an upgrade. I have a 55 and thinking about this swap although my drums are pretty good. Any issues to date with swap? Thanx
This kit looks a lot like the Scarebird kit I got for my '41 Dodge. I thought it was better option than changing the whole front end. I didn't have the money at the time for the hubs. I really wish I would have gotten the hubs instead of turning down the factory hubs. It was $40 to turn the factory hubs down and then you still have left hand threads on the drivers side front. That is kind of a pain to deal with on a truck you've already swapped differentials in. I'm sure the factory hubs could be redrilled and modified but still ....it cost money. The '40's trucks use bolt in studs rather than lug nuts. You're swap seems to be a success though!!
@@Charger383Mopar I'm thinking about getting them. I discovered if you are planning to run some aftermarket rims with a thicker center and want longer left hand bolt in studs, they are a nightmare to locate. They are an even bigger nightmare to afford!! ($$$$)
On the front brake hoses - I destroyed them trying to get that bracket off so I'd suggest ignoring it, or cutting off the bracket. I bought stainless hoses, but they are too long. I need to get a couple custom made by inline tube.
Would you by any chance have a set of 15 inch wheels lying around to see if they will fit. I have a 70 D100 like yours. Bought a set of 15 inch Mopar Rallye Wheels for it. Not sure if they will on that conversion.
The wagon wheels I have are 15 inch. When I did the Scarebird conversion on my Charger I did have to get a 1/8 inch wheel spacer so the 15x7 magnum 500 wheels would clear.
Thinking of doing this to my d100.Question.They sell two of the scarebird plates for 2wd d100 application on the website. One with crown vic rotors the other with ford ranger rotors.Whats the difference or preference which one was used in the video and will they affect wheel fittment? Thanks
I believe that I used the kit that used the Ranger rotors. I'm not sure why they have 2 different kits but the installation should be the same or very similar with both kits.
@@Charger383Mopar The Crown Vic are the early kit, the later is the Ranger. I see your brackets are spot faced for the lower bolts....my early brackets are not and bolts rub the rotor.

Easliy taken care of with a grinder. I'm in the process of putting grand cherokee brakes on the back. I'm using a 9.25 rearend.
@@Charger383MoparThanks for the reply. Your truck sounds great and seems to drive well. Do you know the cam specs or part number? I put the small summit cam (6400) in my 440. Haven't run it yet though...still getting the truck in order.

Muy buena tardes, si alguno de los que comparten esta publicación me pudiera ayudar a conseguir la barra central de dirección del dodge pick-up 1964 si son tan amables, estoy en Sonora, México.
I didn't put a parts list in the description because Scarebird has changed the parts used along with the brackets slightly on other kits before and didn't want to give a list that could change and cause people to order the wrong parts.
Charger383Mopar Alright, that’s understandable. I’m looking at a 1969 D100 and a 1968 D200 and am gonna swap whichever I pick up over to disc brakes. I plan on using the same parts you used in the video.
I believe that's the same suspension as on the 1955 job rated I owned before... The problem is they drive like c*** with that solid axle and, in my opinion I would just change the whole d*** thing then you wouldn't have to convert anything as a matter of fact get a used Durango with A318 and 5 speed , drive the old running gear out and put it on top of the modern running gear which will give you power steering power brakes and air conditioning if you Like...

Loved the video. Thanks for making it!
I have been looking for the complete front suspension for my 1967 Dodge D100 and I don't know where to look.
What about a 1954 Dodge Royal front suspension will it fit
Hey great video...i have the 1964 D100 were can i purchase this kit? to make the conversation on my dodge 👋👋
I wonder if this would work on a 1965 A100
They do actually have a kit for that vehicle. scarebird.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=64&product_id=127
Scarebird is under new management as of mid April this year so a lot of stuff is currently out of stock.
Can you include complete material list bought from scarebirds?
