On his first 20 K game he got em with straight blazing fastballs and a few curves. A decade later and he got the job done with nasty splitters, 2 seamers, straight fastballs and sliders.

Clemens himself claims this season and the 2 Toronto years were his peak. He claimed his pitching repertoire of Fastball, SPLIT, occasional slider during this time period was more effective than his fastball curveball slider combos of his early career.
The split was a more deceptive & effective secondary pitch than the curve or sliders of his early career.

@CWS and TKP 66-02 so are you saying he was on roids in this game, or after?

This was the last win for Roger Clemens in a Boston Red Sox uniform.

if pedro had a chance to break the record, buddy bell would give the bunt signal to batters in the 9th.

Remember everyone....This is the year the writers claim Clemens was "done" and needed "help" the next season.
Bc he was "done" at 33, despite leading the LG in K's, K/9, & FIP, struck out 20 in a game and became the highest paid pitcher ever a few months later.
Weird definition of "done" ya think?
