There WAS a special train service that carried corpses, and ran from London Waterloo to a "Necropolis" ("City of the Dead") at Brookwood in Surrey. It opened in 1854 and operated until 1941. The Necropolis was built to deal with the growing problem of London's overflowing cemetries, and was the brainchild of Sir Richard Broun and Richard Sprye. Trains used the main London & South Western Railway line out of Waterloo, and were classified in a similar manner to normal trains. Trains carrying the coffins would travel at night, with the mourners travelling during the day. There were even separate chapels at the Brookwood end of the line for Catholic, Anglican and Non-Conformist groups.
And apparently in WII trains used to use the tube for transporting dead body’s and London Waterloo is apparently haunted because there’s a old hospital under it and it’s still there
FlutterKitty TheRobotHorse is there even a train to go to school. Usually it is a bus and school is great it allows us to get jobs and money so we are not homeless
St pancreas not Kings cross totally different terminal the difference between the two is one serves Harry Potter the other doesn't one serves the line to Scotland the other to France
I've actually heard about a haunted tank engine. It's what's called a "56xx" tank engine, built for the Great Western Railway. It's uncertain why the engine is haunted, but it's said whenever it's put in steam and left unattended by crew members, it will run over people that stray too close to it. One such person was the manager of the company that owns this particular tank engine. He managed to survive with just barely being hit by the engine, but since then it's been stowed away in a museum.
3:05 she says they are the names for children, but children grow up, She then says "could they be the bus crash victims" meaning because she thinks they are the names of children Rbecca was trying to link it to the victims.Like I said, the point of my comment was that children grow up, those were not the names of the children, but the owners' grandchildren
I've always been interested in the creepier side of things. I really enjoy hearing and reading about the paranormal, it only goes to show just how much we don't know about the world around us. One of the things I've always wanted to see is a ghost train, I think that would be a really cool sight!
me who was born, grew up and still here in San Antonio, grew up hearing of the train track children, you park near the tracks put powder on the back of you car..get in put your car in neutral, and your car will slowly go across the tracks by itself..when you get over the tracks, you get out and look on the back of your car where you put the powder on and you will see small wee hand prints
I've tried it when I was much younger, had no baby powder but my car was dirty, and there were small hands on the back of my car, made my friends uneasy, but we said a small prayer for the kids and thanked them for keeping anyone who crossed the tracks safe, haven't been back since that day, I was 17 then now I'm 34, still get goosebumps thinking about it
Fan of Lincoln ghost train legends here. Supposedly some places you can feel the whoosh of air as it passes by, and lights darken around the tracks while it does. But it's always totally silent. Great legends!
Awesome that you actually had 2 Swedish train urban legends on this list! Sweden is a very ghostly country 😊 I really hope you do more urban legends from Sweden.
a few times in the past ive had people brush or push past me only to look back and see no one hence why i now always use the normal stairs at kings cross station
Rebecca I grew up around trains as my grandpa loved steam locomotives! I watched Shining Time Station and Thomas The Tank Engine and occasionally still do. We used to always go to a steam museum in LaPorte Indiana called Hesston and it was awesome. I occasionally go back to Hesston
I really like this Urban Legend series mainly because I love to learn things and because of scary things are fun to learn about cuz I can treat my friends though and it's very fun to creep them out
A.J. It was tried, but the Filipinos are known for "appropriating" other people's materials (there's a r3ason there are bars on their homes) and thatis what happened to the episode reel
ive heard of a few legends... one is of an experimental engine turned ghost when its designer/builder abandoned it in a tunnel and said tunnel collapsed crushing it. as for the questions. 1. yes i love the old steam engines 2. some legends i believe in 3. i do believe in ghosts and have genuinely had some experiences with them.

I'd just like to share something about Lincoln's train... or him, in general. My hometown, Westfield, NY, has some pretty cool local history. A little girl named Grace Badell lived there. While Lincoln was running for office, she wrote him a letter, suggesting he grow his beard. His train actually came through Westfield twice. Once while he was alive, and once when he was dead-so my hometown is along his death train's route, too. I've never been a train enthusiast, but maybe that's why so many people flock to our old train station-turned-museum...
My aunt has went to San Antonio and she parked her car there and put baby powder and her cousins picked her up and the next morning they saw the hand prints on the bumper and car was off the track a bit. I always thought about how it couldn’t be real but I’m in the middle
