I have stopped sharing my photography. I realized that I was doing it for “likes”. I just photograph for me now. I photograph to satisfy me. Mainly I photographed my children throughout their lives on B&W film. Mostly on 120 film. I love the look. Someday my Son’s Children will see him as a Father and like them, walking through life. That is a bond I hope to contribute to. Many of the photographs I had printed on Metal.

2:04 I liked the way you pronounced "Los Angeles"... it is closer to the Spanish original pronunciation than the American pronunciation "Los Anyeles".

So, always wear a camera, he says. But yesterday, I didn’t bother. I was going to a concert, the music of Berlioz. It was dull and I thought I’d be out and back home from the concert with no photo opportunities. So, I happen to see the Liverpool Chinatown Dragon rehearing for New Year on 6 February. I need say no more. By the way Thorsen, do consider Liverpool, it’s a street photographers paradise. Anyway, the lesson is “always wear a camera”

Allow me to make a point about Leica M cameras here.
I know there are a lot of people thinking of entering the Leica M system but are afraid of manual focussing and this seems to sounds familiar to most of you.
What I recommend is when people are out shooting, just set your lens to manual focussing, since your camera is probably not a rangefinder but a mirrorless, set it to focus peaking.
Now try to shoot subjects or people with a small DoF, this can be done on fast wide angle lenses or normal lenses like F2.8 with a longer focal length and try to focus on the things you like (e.g. people's face or even an eye).
This will build confident in shooting manual focus and make the step to Leica M camera or only lenses so much easier.

I have so much camera equipment and lenses and I want to bring it all everytime I am going out to take photos. So I use so much time figuring out what lens to use.

Great philosophy and love the idea of 'walk with me.' Hope that concept expands as we need more photos and conversations and a positive exchange of creative ideas. Looking forward to the next one in Los Angeles, and joining a workshop one day.

I learn photography my own way but from you I keep learning persistence - wear bracelet together with watch on one hand so my other, my writing hand is as free as possible for writing with my Montblanc Meisterstück. 25 years ago I took a look on my left hand and thought - why you don't do anything? took the computer mouse and put it on left side, inversed buttons and since then my left hand operates mouse while my right one - writes. and together they type on a keyboard in symphony 😊

Hi Thorsten. This is a really inspiring video. I really like the fact that you described your workshops in a very matter-of-fact way, rather than making grandiose claims. As for the workshops themselves, the fact that you're focusing on actually taking photos rather than just talking about the technical side of photography really appeals to. Just one question: You mentioned that some of people who took part in the Berlin event are thinking of meeting up regularly even when you're not in town. I live in Berlin and I'd love to join them. Who should I get in touch with?

I personally do fine art photography and do shows in art galleries & art fairs worldwide . While traveling I must admit that every time i go out for a shoot , I always get great moments and subjects . Maybe i will share some images with you soon . Cheers to your W A L K ...

When you go abroad with your highly expensive equipment like Leica cameras don’t you feel worried that they will stole from you ? or you are making insurance for this equipment before your traveling ? how do you manage that ?
    thank you.

You want to take better photographs?
Stop looking at Instagram photographs, they all look the same, most of it sucks, sorry but that’s true
Look more at painting , sculptures drawings etc.
Work on a project or something for a good while , don’t post Every picture every day because you want to get likes and follows.
Don’t post for a month or two or three, pick the best one and post that after three months.
    Stop worrying about camera gear.
