Find the number of degrees of freedom for a rigid body which can move freely in three dimensional space has one point fixed but can move in space about this point.
It's 6 (not including vibrational) If u look at methane's structure. It's tetrahedral. It can move in 3 directions across X,Y and Z axes respectively. ( Translational Freedom = 3) If u imagine a methane molecule. It can rotate along X,Y and Z axes (Rotational Degrees of Freedom = 3) Total DOF = 6 (not including Vibrational) Hope it helps you :)
Sir this is wrong explanation of degree of freedom. 3 degrees of freedom is related with translational motion and others are either with rotational or vibrational motion.

Sir hats off to you for such a brilliant explanation ,salute!!
Nicely explained sir.. will use your method to teach my students..!
Thank-you for sorting out physics so easily for us. You're a Gem sir 💎
Thank you, sir. Your explanation was really helpful.
Vryy nyc sir....u r the best...
Mujhe sb bht ache se smjh aa gya..
Tqu so much sir...
Thank you so much sir... Keep helping us sir.. From my heart..

Thank you sir, you explain everything in such less time
Thank you so much sir. I understood very well sir
best explanation sir .very usefull 4 marks ready thank u soo much
Kdkk sir
Outstanding sir...very conceptual
Great explaination sir Thankyou so much 🙏🙂😃
God of physics
Sir you are one of the best physics teachers in the world
Great presentation. Love the two definitions and ways to count DoFs. They give a check.
what is the oscilatory motion that makes it 7?everybody stops here
Excellent teaching skills...
Thanks. Very well explained.

Thankuuuu sir....😍😍😍😍
Thank you sir.
It was a great explanation.
Thankyou so much sir🙏
👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😊😊
Very helpful
So nice explanation thank you sir
Thanks🙏🙇 sir
Best expression.... Thank you very much, sir... ♥♥♥
Chutiye explanation not expression 🤦♂️🤦♂️
super explaination!!!
Sir,what about degree of freedom for polyatomic gases?
Apply the formula yrr which sir told
3×n-r

sir you make explanation very easy .
Thank you sir .
You are teaching such a way that one should love it ❤️❤️❤️
How to find degrees of freedom of methane ?
It's 6 (not including vibrational)
If u look at methane's structure. It's tetrahedral. It can move in 3 directions across X,Y and Z axes respectively. ( Translational Freedom = 3)
If u imagine a methane molecule. It can rotate along X,Y and Z axes
(Rotational Degrees of Freedom = 3)
Total DOF = 6 (not including Vibrational)
Hope it helps you :)
best explain i have ever seen..thank you sir
Thank you sir...
Really great sir...
Sir thanks a lot
Very helpful. Thank you!
He was amazing teacher.
Thank you sir.
Thankyou Sir
Six degree of freedom ?
thanks a lot sir your all video lecture topics matches with my Aakash notes.
I am from tamilnadu... excellent explanation sir..... thank u sir....
Sir thanks k lot
Thank. You. Sir
Thank u so much sir
Love you..Stay healthy in this pandemic
Sir , now no more
Tnq u.. Sir
Thanks. It helped me in my seminar
Which seminar?
Regards.
Thankyou so much sir....such a nice explanation..
tyvm❣️
Sir this is wrong explanation of degree of freedom. 3 degrees of freedom is related with translational motion and others are either with rotational or vibrational motion.
Most books give it terms of rotations. But youve created your own way of remebering it
thank u very much sir thats very good explaination s in this topic
Thanks sir
Sir , in case of CO2 , the degrees of freedom is 6
could any say how 3 rotational degree freedom can explain
Rip sir 😔😔😔
Thank you sir
Thanku sir
watch it in 1.5x
I did
For CO2 it must be 6 I think...
No it would be 7
thank u v.much......God bless u!!!!!!
I mean, low audio
Hindi Mein Bole desh ki Bhasha kharab lagti hai kya
CO2 has 5 freedom
7
Thank you so much sir..for this video.
Cool but hot concept
Rest in peace sir.
sir u explained about translation and rotation for the CO2 molecule but not oscillatory motion.
can u explaine it too sir.
Excellent Explanation...sir. but not audible
Thank you 🙏 sir
Thanks
Bhai hindi nahi ati kya tumko
Sare ishare galat
Thank you so much❤
Pls start with some greetings... Otherwise okkk... Tq....
Galat bata raha h ye CO2 have 5
Thanku sir
Thanks
Thank you sir
Welcome
thanks sir
Thanks sir
