Thank you sir for making this video, and thanks to the others that have contributed their 2 cents worth. My wife liked this faucet and I will be installing it later this week. I am a mechanic, I hate plumbing and always have, my plumber friends hate cars. I would ask one of them to do it but would never live it down, my wife and son would wear me out. I'm still catching it over the water heater and toilets. Thanks again.
That's funny and totally understand. Like you said, surgeons hate doing a colonoscopy!! It is the potential water drip at the end that means you get to do it all over again! And the hesitancy to get started. But I must say, now that it's in, it's working great.
I stumbled across this video for the same reasons you posted it. I have the exact same instructions with the exact same exceptions you have. At least you got the little white gasket material. I didn't get that, but I got some weird black ring that I believe takes its place. Of course nowhere to be found in the instructions.
So problem solved. For all of you who stumble upon this and are having problems. The plastic bracket tolerance with the threaded piece is too close. Take small pieces of sand paper and enlarge the hole. Take your time and it will eventually slide over the threaded pipe and then you can put on the nut and tighten it up. It was so easy once I discovered this. Hope this helps.
I installed mine by trial and error, came on youtube after the fact, and found this video. I returned my first one to home depot and exchanged it because I assumed I had missing or wrong parts. Delta now has two returns coming that they could have avoided with better instructions. I installed the black bracket a few times when the faucet was uninstalled. This helped loosen it a little, which made it easier later. Most of these are probably installed by plumbers who don't need instructions.. The silcone is mentioned under paragraph 2A on page 3 - "If sink is uneven, use silcone sealant"
Thank you for your post I hope this helps others as well. Overall I'm happy with the faucet, and mostly chose it for sleek design, but very unsatisfied with the the instructions.
I thought Delta would be a good brand to go with and was frustrated by the directions that just don't seem to go with the faucet design I purchased. Thanks for the video.
I read at least 20 reviews complaining about the generic "one size fits all" instructions from Delta. Remember when faucets used braided stainless water supply lines? Well to save $$, Delta now uses pex instead. To make things more confusing, the supply lines have preinstalled rubber gaskets at the ends, but the instructions specifically say to use the plastic wedge shaped washers instead. But those are too long. They also say you can cut the pex lines if they are too long, but they don't specify what kind of connector to use on the cut ends. Do you use the blue and red ends again? Who knows? SHAME ON YOU DELTA
That’s the wrong manual. Mine was the exact same way. A manual with completely different pictures and drawing than the actual faucet I got. That’s why I got on TH-cam. And I found out online that it’s a thing with these faucets apparently.
Just bought one tonight. The box was also smashed like yours. It also didn't come with instructions at all. Thinking about taking it back because of that alone.
Good idea! Overall we are very happy with the faucet and liked the design, but thumbs down on instructions. You would think when the inventory is low that means the demand is high ( Separate from supply chain issues) so a lot of people must like the faucet, but no fun having a damaged Box, I try to avoid them whenever possible, And have gone to another store to get a Box that is unopened good luck.
Check out "Quick and easy install of new kitchen faucet" by That fix it Guy its not same faucet but same Delta hardware helped me get it done . Goodluck
@mikezura8701 thanks so much for the link! The info provided by "That Fix it Guy" clearly explained the installation process. I really appreciate your help!!!
Thank you for this! We would not have made it without you. The metal piece does stay with the mounting bracket. Screws tighten to the countertop. The worst instructions ever. If you go online to some places that sell this there are terrible but more useful instructions
I had the same issue getting the black bracket on. I worked it back and forth until I basically filed it down then it mounted all the way up. Then used the screws to tighten up after tightening the brass nut.
Agree with your assessment. The accompanying diagram and information are unnecessarily confusing. I purchased the Delta Trask SS PD Tempsense on the strength of the Delta name. I hope the sloppy instructions are not an indication of actual performance, quality, and durability.
Installed the Delta Greyson faucet but if you have it on and use the touch feature to shut it off it continues to drip. Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Thanks
Sorry about that. We like the faucet, it works great and no leaks. Hope yours is working well . Delta just needs to understand one instruction doesn't fit all And it just irritates the do-it-yourself itself partners.
Yes!! I installed a ton of faucets for family, friends and myself over the years. These are the most idiotic installation instructions I’ve ever seen. I like the fact that they made it easier to tighten the faucet down the sink without the old installation tool to be able to get behind the sink…. But geeez. Definitely some genius in the accounting department figured out that including the same instructions for all their facets in every box saved them a few pennies per unit to package and ship. I’m glad they were more concerned about the packaging and shipping costs over the ease of the customer’s ability to quickly install the unit. With cost cutting measures like those executed by Delta makes me wonder what other cost cutting measures to the accounting department demand from the engineering and production departments in an effort to return more dollars to their stockholders. I’m sure the moron received some sort of an award that they can hand on their wall and pad their resume for the next company they take their great ideas. Geeezz. What idiocy. Thanks for posting…. As soon as I saw your video I figured out what they were up to.. You should ask to be rewarded by Delta for customer service!
Love your comment and agree, someone saved 4 cents a month on packaging. Almost surprised there were not more typos and less words (like Ikea) We know good customer service is a magnet for return customers.
Sorry about that. It is actually straightforward and there are a lot of generic faucet installations to watch. This one was all about the bracket and frustrations. Guess I could have shown final connections. Thank you for your interest.

It shouldn’t be this unclear. Thank god you posted this!!!

Arg!! What a mess. Time for a consumer letter to the Delta CEO.
Ralph Nader lives!!

Way to MacGyver it!!
Thank you so much, my plastic bracket is also too tight to go on the threaded piece, using the sandpaper method now
yeah that's what I'm discovering too... geez, did they do ZERO quality assurance testing on this?
Thank you! My bracket does not fit at all. I'll try this. EDIT: it worked! Thank you! Totally saved my install.

Agree. Once you get it installed, works fine, but it matches the frustration!

It would be a compression fitting. Call Delta, or go to hardware store if you can. Did you try bending the pex?
That’s the wrong manual. Mine was the exact same way. A manual with completely different pictures and drawing than the actual faucet I got. That’s why I got on TH-cam. And I found out online that it’s a thing with these faucets apparently.
Sorry that happened to you. Delta should know better!!

My word, the instructions stink so bad. THANK YOU for this video…and the comments.

Misery loves company! Lol
Thanks for confirming. We survived!
I had the same issue getting the black bracket on. I worked it back and forth until I basically filed it down then it mounted all the way up. Then used the screws to tighten up after tightening the brass nut.
Way to go, sometimes you have to MacGyver it with duct tape and a paper clip!
Agree with your assessment. The accompanying diagram and information are unnecessarily confusing. I purchased the Delta Trask SS PD Tempsense on the strength of the Delta name. I hope the sloppy instructions are not an indication of actual performance, quality, and durability.
I have the same project im working on the instructions suck!
I hope it worked out...a little effort on Delta's part, would go a long way to help DIYers!
Installed the Delta Greyson faucet but if you have it on and use the touch feature to shut it off it continues to drip. Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Thanks
Bummer. Could be defective cartridge. Has 10+ year warrantee, call Delta. I'm nor familiar with touch feature, check wire connections...
@@westvalley411 I am having the same issue! Had a plumber install and it continues to drip with the handle in the "on" position.
@@joypalatucci602 well, I suggest calling deltafaucet.com and talk to tech support. They can assist. Good luck.
"Nowhere does it say silicone".... As you pointed to it. Do better!
C'mon Delta, get with the program...this was helpful, when Delta is not!!
We had the same problem, lack of instructions. Would not have bought it
Sorry about that. We like the faucet, it works great and no leaks. Hope yours is working well . Delta just needs to understand one instruction doesn't fit all And it just irritates the do-it-yourself itself partners.
I'm stuck at the exact same spot. Did you figure it out? Thanks for posting this.
I used metal and plastic brackets, and it is flush to sunk and stable
Delta needs to get it together!
The shaft will not fit through the hole in the black bracket. Anyone else have this problem?
Wow. It's a little tricky to separate the water lines, but is supposed to fit. Call Delta support, they can ship correct part. Good luck.

@@westvalley411 For Sure !!
How did you install?
Read the parts that make sense, watch, and call Delta if you get in a jam...good luck.
Thank you for sharing
Darn. I thought you were going to actually install it.
Sorry about that. It is actually straightforward and there are a lot of generic faucet installations to watch. This one was all about the bracket and frustrations. Guess I could have shown final connections. Thank you for your interest.
Instruction might well be in Chinese. Tried looking up the model I brought no luck. Even searching you tube but nothing. Ugh😢
No kidding!!! Why didn’t this come with instructions or a list of what is included and what it is for!!!!! Delta FAIL at this release.
