Happy Father's Day, Eddie. I was a daddy's boy for sure, sadly lost him early last year. He was a real "wood worker". I only wish he could have helped me play on this old sawmill. God bless, Shannon
That piece of oak was definitely no joke by the way the Detroit and the saw blade were whining as they dealt with this unwilling sacrifice. Nice bunch of boards though. Wonder where they are going to end up. Happy fathers day to one and all. Good to see the House of Grain in operation with the whole crew yet again. Never get tired of watching. As for the phrase of the day, the man he didn't have to be by Brad Paisley says it about the best that I can think of. Even though many of our fathers are no longer with us in life, they still live on in memories and warm feelings. Lets give a big shout out to those fathers who cannot be home due to ongoing commitments that keep them in harms way and away from home.
Hi Ed. Beautiful red oak lumber. Happy Father's Day to you, Mark & ZZ. 😍😊😉👍❤️💜🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🤝🤝🤝🍻🍺 I had a " absent dad" throughout his 18 yrs of marriage to my mom. Then the divorce of March/1977 changed everything. He did a "no show" at the court. My mom made sure. My dad had visitation right to us 4 children. Then the right for child support. Then my dad became more "present." He spend his weekends w/ us. He spends his vacations w/ us. My dad became a " family friend " for 35 yrs. He died Memorial Day Weekend/2012. Then the relationship of my stepfather was very strained. He ❤ his " own" children. Than his step children. After 33 yrs. He died November 11th,2011. We got a fateful moble car phone call at 11am. He was dead. My life w/ father figures have " mixed emotional experiences. The good, bad, & ugly. I ❤ being w/ female relatives & female family friends the best. Have a good Father's Day. I have to admit after all that pine and spruce you've been cutting i almost forgot that there are other kinds of wood to cut. One thing that is noticable is that the saw sings differently on oak. Great story Mr. Horvath. Thank you for that. We have 3 generations watching you today and between you and Mark we have 3 videos to catch up on. I wouldn't trade these moments with them for the world. Grandpa wasn't much of a talker, more of a worker. However, he really talks about what you do, how you do it and why. I learn much from all of you.

My dad was my hero as well, he was superman to me, and could fix anything, whether that be a project, a skinned knee, or hurt feelings, he was the greatest. Bringing us back to the word of the day" FATHER"S DAY> what a great word Eddie, flooded me with MANY good memories :) As i am sure you probably have said many times about your dad, as i have of mine> "They don't make them like that anymore.. lol thanks Eddied made my day thanks sir 💯🙏

There were several times I was wondering what you guys were doing I know that you sort boards into different piles and I saw you standing at the belt doing something that I wasn't sure. It might be nice if when you are preparing the video you could do a bit of voiceover to describe what's going on at that particular time. I hope you had a great day.
We used to prepare and sell American Red oak to special order. Also Japanese oak, for carpentry, but strangely, freshly sawn English oak only suitable for fencing.
Three o’clock in the afternoon nice oak boards interesting watch your operations in the mill , had a day off sort of took the dogs out to chase some rabbits then the widow women came down to borrow my lawn tractor filed it with petrol gave her a demonstration and off she went , when she came back she cut my grass as well got a ham in to roast and I was doing the veg and potatoes when she came in , said that smells nice what’s for dinner cauliflower cheese sauce Brussels and new potatoes with roast ham that’ll be nice when’s dinner I’m hungry , nothing like self invitation told her she can wash up anyway you guys have a nice day
