Laura Weaver Thank you so much for watching!! After learning about the standard practices of the dairy industry, I had to cut dairy out of my life. It's too sad. :(
Coming from a farming background, I was shocked (in a bad way) to see this film. It makes Dairy farmers sound like criminals for weaning calves from the mothers. They are not taken away at day 1, like suggested, they may get sold on, shown and only boys are put to slaughter. Although slaughter isn't the nicest way to send a calf away to, "put in a small crate" is not true. Lorries, true. I am sure this is a good way to stop abuse for calves and slaughter, however this was obviously made by a person who did not know all the facts, and made it sound as bad as possible. I am not a dairy farmer, but I have family who are in the dairy business. Please don't hate on dairy farmers, they're not that bad.
I live on a farm farm we have cows and it's the circle of life we don't always sell the bull calves we sometimes keep the calves so that they can be bulls
That's not gonna be very smart... your dad earns his livelihood from this, and it could ruin him and your family... being a cow farmer and breeder doesn't help you try to get a job.
We took a field trip to Kentucky's largest dairy farm and believe it or not I wasn't that bad ,they had 150 acres and they were all free to come and go as they pleased since they didn't have fences, and they only had 8 milking stalls so it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
Heather Trash and recycling of my resume to this message was automatically resized to fit a lot for your time and I am going to have a great time and I am going to be the same as last time I get the room for the following document copy of the time I get the room for the use of or taking of action for the following document copy of your help with the following user but
1. The breeding farm and touring farm are like 17 miles away 2. Calf doesn't have enough intelligence to break out. 3. If it did get back it will just be separated again 4. Mother would also be shifted to milking paler so calf cannot find her. 5. The farm will be covered with farmers 6. The gate would be locked.
Random unimportant notes: 1. Why are cows in any form of media always black and white, there's more than one type of cow. 2. The butterfly was creepy looking, Idk why but it unsettled me. Those eyes could break someones soul. 3. Seriously what is it about the butterfly it's creepy. 4. 'Bo' wouldn't likely have a numbering tag as he's male and generally only females get tagged and numbered on the farm of their birth. 5. People in the comments making vastly broad statements about the dairy industry as a entirety, completely forgetting that it's different in even country (In my country for example, keeping cows in such small spaces is called dirty dairying and is highly looked down upon) 6. Why do they make human sighs etc. but everything else is cow noises. 7. Animation is a bit stiff looking
EdgyBorb owo 5. I don't know what country you're from but this is standard practice almost everywhere. There are few laws in any country protecting farmed animals, and they're rarely enforced because of threats, corruption, and coercion.
Lillian Davila Have you actually experienced anything farm related first hand or do you just believe all of the manipulative propaganda that only shows the 1% worst of the worst. (Also I'm not American so I can only speak for my country)
EdgyBorb Most people use the black and white cow model because it’s easier to identify, especially if you’re younger. The black and white cow is actually called a Holstein and is the most popular dairy cow so that’s why it’s chosen the most.
EdgyBorb This isn’t just for you but everybody. This is not what the American dairy industry is like. We have regulations put force so that animals aren’t treated so inhumanly. Of course there are always the exceptions but for the most part, no, this isn’t how it’s like. Yes, the babies are taken from there moms but the dairy cow mothers aren’t good at raising calves! They can be aggressive and if the milk isn’t right the calves could get sick! People need to get on a real farm and live the life for a day before they can say shit
This is the real truth to show to kids. I wish there’s a kids show that teaches about veganism, animal rights, and uses both Montessori and Waldorf educational methods, maybe on PBS Kids, Nick Jr., JellyTelly, TBN, Fox Kids, Disney Junior, or other kids channel. #dairyisscary #cowsmilkisforbabycalvesnothumans #govegan
Why do humans think we have the right to assume control over other species? Just because WE can't understand them, that doesn't mean they're not saying anything... They feel just like we do. Whether you believe it or not, they feel...😢❤️🐄
Catlover1 Love Cats. umm,not all cows have this life. i raised a cow sence i was 5 on a farm,i got him for my birthday and he died cause i left him (i had to)
The world looks different when you think things through. I have been vegetarian for about eight months and already it looks like people are eating dead things, you know?
Honestly, I would try to transition into vegan. Vegetarians only save 1/4 of the animals they could! Because milk supports the cows being on the farms and dying! My motto is "kill animals only if your life depends on it".
Cows on farms don't always die or get separated, I see a lot of farms that keep cows just to cut the grass, which is honestly very smart and saves money..
This is why I really support the people working to make fake meat and dairy products that are super realistic, because if everyone who had the money to buy meat and milk could just buy 100% cruelty free meat and milk then I think we’d see a very big change
This is an inaccurate film. Many calves, are held up by restraints, and their legs never touch the ground, to be turned to veal. Also, the whole throwing of the calf was exaggerated. Before you comment anything, read this: I know the end message explained what really happens, but i believe it could have been executed better than this.
Bo wouldn't have been in a wooden crate they have special calve sheds for bottle feeding where the calve is cared for and given more than enough food (that's where meat comes from) and the calves don't know their being taken away they only go where the food is. The only time you have trouble weening an animal of its mother is when they've been on them for a long time
WE NEED LESS DAIRY AND MORE LOVE we waist alot of dairy so cows should have freedom too becuase cows hould not have to go through all th I pain and taken away from moms
True, but sometimes, mother cows attempt to murder the calfs... and it could get dangerous if the milk is bad, or if they are together. Like most mother animals, they get confused about these strange creatures, and scared, so they kill them. Sorta like pandas, which is the reason they are endangered.
This is how it works and this is how it will be. There’s no stopping the fact that people will eat cows. All we can do id try to change the way of making them into meat.
Even though I’m not vegan, I rarely drink milk (Still consume cheese and butter normally). And I don’t support the kind of farms where calves are ripped away from their mothers and male ones get slaughtered. My grandma’s family had a much smaller farm where they let cows have their calves and even let them nurse before milking them both for the calf’s health and because the suckling’s stimulation in the udders helps produce more milk. So this family separation and abuse is pretty much pointless. And male calves got to stay in the farm and grow into bulls which would naturally breed with cows without the need of artificial insemination. The farm only produced milk, eggs and crops. No meat. I told my grandma about nowadays’ factory farms and she was horrified.
not sure of your message so, should we not drink milk too? as well as being vegetarians? or are there methods to drink milk without the cruelty? for sure Bo would had been safe on our farm, we are herbivores thankfully
well, I am sure they all could if they switched to soy milk and oak milk and other nut made milk as well though sure it won't taste as good as the first milk that everyone always drinks but hey at least it would save a cow calves life though one cow calf at a time.
Vegans aren't some sort of holy creatures of light. Animals are dying all the time while some vegans are sitting back, commenting on videos, saying that we need to help the planet, but the TH-cam comment section has nothing to do with that. Have a nice day Btw
Oh, I don't stab them to death, I don't even eat beef. But think about it, if everyone was vegan, some people would die, because they don't have enough muscle to support themselves, and cows would be overpopulated, cows are dangerous to other wildlife, because cows are unbelievably strong, get stomped by one and your dead, so if cows were everywhere, a bunch of smaller animals could get stomped on, and die. Not trying to make this a reasonable thing, it is horrible how These factory farms treat them so cruelly. But milking a cow without those weird machines doesn't hurt it, and if the milk is bad, it could poison the baby cow, and what if the baby cow dies right after birth? The mother cow would have too much milk, and it can cause a lot of trouble for her.
And, I'm gonna ignore the fact that you compared a room full of children to cows, I love cows and all animals, but if I chose between my own kids and a baby cow, I'd choose my kids, do have a nice day.
woooooow. you've really set the bar for stupid people. I applaud you. I'm not going to go vegan and suffer from protein deficiency again. I went vegan once and got really sick from it. Humans are omnivores, meaning we're supposed to eat meat and plants. we've been doing it for THOUSANDS of years. I do disagree with the way animals are treated in slaughterhouses and thats why I eat kosher meat. Animals on kosher farms are given a good quality of life and its law that they feel no pain and they don't panic before they're killed. Even if an animal breaks a bone or has some kind of blemish in its life, they don't kill it. They roam freely in fields. Same goes for dairy cows, they have to have a good quality of life. So miss me with that "Its the ultimate choice" crap. If I go vegan, I SUFFER HEALTH COMPLICATIONS.
