Wow you have the easiest dirt to dig through. Our dirt here wouldn't let you dig one inch, let alone six. You'd need an excavator for that.
Or a tiller...
@@mustangcody only if you have a larger tiller, my dirt when dry is practically concrete, the tiller we have (weed eater attachment) wont put a dent in it unless its either the correct level of moisture and even then it still takes ages to till just a few inches or we use a pickaxe to loosen it up

Thanx, Great suggestion!
Though our soil has tons of rocks,
when wet our "concrete" would be
easier to dig. A tiller would speed
up the process & help us find those
rocks quicker.
He's in WA state, some of the best dirt in the entire U.S. there.
try a pick mattock
For a wall this small as long as you dont plan on building something on it you dont need a huge base and drainage
Where do you connect the hose/drainage pipe to?
Kind of funny... but I did one twice as high as this. I did nothing but lay a little gravel and then stack the bricks using liquid nails. That was probably 6 years ago and looks perfect today. I didn't do anything with drainage etc. I live in the northwest where it never stops raining.
Took me about an hour or two total to do.
yah his wall is so extra for how tiny it is
You forgot to add the DPM between the wall and soil/gravel.
Square ft, drainage, size, blocks size plus block height. Eh
Love it 💖🌎🇺🇸🧏♀️💘💖
CALL BEFORE U DIG
Very simple job 👏
Probably 1500-2k. More labor than material.
would have added a step 0 by setting up appointment for your local utility to confirm any utility lines...
Total cost ??
1 min search will reveal the total cost to any project just gotta add the numbers
I’ve never done a retaining wall but I’m about to do one can I ask a question why the drain?? Like I said I’m new to doing this, so pls be nice lol!!
You don't want water building up behind the wall. Use either drainage like shown in the video or have weep holes in your retaining wall.
Static pressure.
Whats the name of the block adhesive you used?
Pl 500
French drain isn't designed correctly.
Why
I just put 1/2” of bedding sand between the dirt and the first row of blocks.
Update on your wall?
I don't know if those pieces of grass will grow with that weed barrier under🤔
Too bad if UEC French drain like that gets clogged every time..
How is that a retaining wall when it isnt retaining anything??
Can you build my retainer wall desperately need one.
Do you really do all of these things in your TH-cam channel?
How is that grass going to grow with 1 inch soil and rock drainage under it? Cant believe you glued every single brick but then again they small
Absolutely wrong fabric that's woven fabric notice the lines meant for plant spacing this does not drain and will trap water, do not use crushed minus because it holds water 3/4" clean stone is what you use for open graded base, no drain tube! Does nothing waste of money, (add wall light.. there cheap and add a lot of value.) run a level string line the wall is not level within 6' otherwise looks good
What do you do with all the removed dirt?
Stored it in his chest.
Lol. Take back to the Prarie to live free range
nice but unnecessary to do all of that as you are not retaining much with that small of a wall
this is way too extra for how tiny that wall is
You slopped the adhesive everywhere and I hope this is a warm climate, frost would heave that wall all over the place
Hmmm, Why you say that. 6 inches of 3/4 clean is plenty for drainage and frost. Are you saying don't use adhesive. O your saying run adhesive so water can flow. Right?
I need one of those "sexy beasts" put up on my side yard which every time it rains my grass seed collects next to my deck. It's growing really well where the water eventually pools...🫠
