Hell ya I remember days like this. I'm 41 now so I was from the ages of 5 to 18 doing Karate tournaments and my Dad would film everything! We had a so much footage that went up in flames in a house fire in one of our homes growing up super sad to loose all that footage of us and my Dad . The memories are there absolutely but being being able to watch them would have been amazing to see. Thanks for sharing Wonderboy 👍 you had that boys number for sure ! Pressure baby ! You brought the fire to him the whole fight.

Funny, we're the same age. While you were doing things like this at 16 I was getting into lunchtime brawls in high-school lol. Nothing fancy like this, just wild punching, I did use a few choke holds though as wrestling (pro wrestling) was extremely popular at the time. Now you're a legend in the UFC, and I'm on my way at getting my black belt in Kenpo. Btw I love the stuff you do with Sensei Seth, look forward to more videos in the future!

Obviously your technique, footwork, movement and range are all light years ahead now but I feel like you look more aggressive here (when you weren’t checking the guy was OK 😂).
This is really pretty interesting to watch, and compare how Thompson fights now, to how he fought as a teenage amateur. Very interesting insight it gives. It looks like back then Thompson's style was just ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK. Come straight in and close quickly, and overwhelm his opponent with the forward pressure and shitload of strikes. Throw all caution to the wind and come in hard and fast, swinging for the fences lol. Which definitely has been known to work! It was exciting to watch. Awesome video.
The way you stand now is more sideways and you switch stances frequently to put either your left or right leg forward depending on several variables - it could be damage, to be less predictable, etc. Also, I notice that now, you have a much better strategy to open your kicks up, like with a quick 1-2 and then catch them on their back foot with a head kick or side kick. Also, now you have a much better understanding of manipulating the opponent's pace with push kicks to the diaphragm which helps you keep your distance better as well. All in all, the thing that I felt was more prominent was that you're throwing way more punches than you tend to do now, but personally, what I wish you could have done and yeah, I know you were just 16 and I don't know if these are illegal in kickboxing, but some low kicks would have made that guy crumble and I feel like it would have immobilized him.
I had an experience with a guy named JR in grammar school. He was also arrogant. I smoked him on the baseball field after a game. Made him cry. I'm not proud of it, but he did become a lot nicer.

That was awesome to watch. Just the breakdown that I actually was able to follow. Luckily they never grappled, as they don’t in kickboxing but grappling is something I hope to learn when I get back to the UK and find a BJJ gym.
think WB had a similar style back then to the one I have now... Newbie style volume striking lol. I also throw a lot of round kicks cuz they're easy to combine with punches & don't knock the guy out of range like a front or side kick which I only use when I need a breather. I also miss nearly every spinning kick I throw so I don't do them too often & use a hook kick as my "surprise" technique once my opponents get used to being hit on one side of the head by the round kick.
Ur fight was incredible. But what were more great of ur fight is ur were Men regardless ur age and took the revenge of an old guy and that u protect Your sister with honor and dignity. May Allah bless u all and forever .🤲👊💪
